When I joined the disboards I read somewhere (I think it was the acronym thread) that D could stand for Darling or Disney, different people chose which one it meant to them...since I never put the words "Darling" and "Husband" in the smae sentence :rotfl: I went with Disney. When I drug my DB and SIL onto these boards I just passed on what the "D" meant to me. We don't have to tell your D(darling)H ;) .

Good Morning Everyone. Andrea..I put on the site that U are main dining and also ur other family going...only assuming you guys are eating together. I also understand feeling better about once the cruise is paid for then it feels all down hill. I wish it wasn't an election year cause it scares me...if the wrong person gets in my DH's job is in jepordy(SP). He wants to privatize the post office and being able to survive in this world would disappear. SO I am nervous until that is over. Otherwise I will be nervous all year long wondering if I can go without worrying we are spending money we can't afford to. So andrea I get it!

So to something less depressing...I found out if I book the dolphin encounter in Jan. I can save 5%...woohoo. That could be lunch money that day!! LOL Well off to get DD from preschool. Talk to ya all later.....Hope we get to the New Year Fast and then the year goes fast...October 3 can't come fast enough.

:drinking1 Here's to a fast year....and a s l o w first week of Oct. '09!

:drinking: I am right there with you guys!! Our cruise can't get here fast enough. I do beleive that before we know it...it will be time to board that boat.

Found some magnetic paper on ebay. 25 sheets for $15.99. I probably should look for ink too because I think all these magnets are going to require lots of it!!

Schools were delayed here today because of the weather...yuck!!!!:cold:

Sitting here under my electric blanket wishing I was hangin with Andrea or Lisa. They are in warm locations. I got 10 sheets for $4.99 + shipping so $8 total. Not bad. I am excited to start. I have a ton to print. my door should be covered. It's hard to decide which ones I like cause they make soo many cute ones. Ofcourse I need the green ears and our logo. Then I am going to make my logo pass for the lanyard. I figure it's cold as u know what so do it all now and when it's warm after easter..then I want everything done mostly. Is everyone making their kids/DH logo passes to wear too or just us cool MOM's!?

So how many are dressing the part for pirate night? We didn't on our last 2 cruises, I always wanted the girls going to dinner in dinner attire and then changing into shirts for the pirate party. HOWEVER, my DD's have informed me since my sis and family are dressin that they wanna be a huge pirate family. It will kinda be cool cause the girls school is called the Perkins Pirates, so it is actually fitting. I am looking for stuff after halloween to make our costumes. Disney has a cute Elizabeth from Pirates of the Carr. costume and it's cheap so we'll see what the girls find.

Well off to take DD's friend home after a sleepover. They had a staff day today so no school. chat later!

Michelle-my family is dressing up. I already have the costumes. I ordered them on ebay (God I love that site). A really nice woman hand made them. I want to get portraits done of the white background and use them for our christmas pictures..."Yo Ho Ho..Merry Christmas". Just thought that would be a cute idea. Dh is definatley not thrilled about dressing up, but I am making him do itpirate:

I know our girls will be dressing up. They did last time too, and had fun. I'm going to look for costumes after Halloween, so hopefully I can get them on clearance.
Michelle, I know what you mean about narrowing down which signs to make. There are a lot of cute ones. Luckily we have 2 doors to decorate ;) so I don't have to narrow it down quite so much. I think I'm going to make the logo/nametag for all of us (we'll see if DH wears it). Of course, he is pretty good about wearing his lanyard. He always puts his and the kids KTTWC in it, so maybe I can just sneak it on there without him noticing!

I think DH is gonna be Captain Jack and I am gonna be elizabeth or a pirate wench...LOL I saw a cute elizabeth(frm PIr of the carr.) costume for DD(9).
They are excited! More so excited they got their mom(me) to let them wear it and not in a dress. I guess sometime ya just have to pick ur battles and that wasn't important to win. Actually they have never asked before.
I think I am making the nametag that looks like the crew nametag or make shirts with it on screened on them. I gotta find holders for our logo passes too...I looked at staples but they didn't have the size I needed. So many things to do so little time!

My kids wear pirate shirts/ eye patches and youngest has an earring sword.
I offered to look for pirate costumes after Halloween this year and no one seemed really interested, especially dh.:lmao:

My oldest has the Eliz Swann costume, but she didnt wear it, it was way to hot and humid to wear on deck 9.

We dress up for pirate night. I'll have to remind my sister to be on the lookout for costumes this weekend for them.

Oh and it was 39 degrees when we left for work this morning - IN FLORIDA!!!!

Ok Lisa...No crying:sad1: It was a high of 39 here today. I tease our friends in Florida and tell them they have thin skin. We have gone down in "winter" and they r all wearing their jeans and sweatshirts while my girls are in shorts....it's funny. I mean 39 today and while I ran errands my DD didn't wear a coat. So Lisa ....you are not aloud to say how cold it is...this should seem heavenly to u....

Well off to shop ebay. DD asking for an armoire for her American girl Kits wardrobe. The AG one is expensive but finding cute ones on ebay. I swear those AG girls have better things then I do.:upsidedow

D= disney???? when did this happen,

D (darling) W says it is darling, if I now Disney husband, D about to stand for divorced :-)

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone on the DH designation. As for the name tags that everyone is talking about, I'm covered. I will spend the week wearing my "I'm with stupid" shirt. :rotfl2:

I am getting organised. I have just added the REAS package to this cruise and then proceeded to transfer this reservation to DU to get the extra stateroom credit. As we booked this while we were on the Wonder, we will have $200 stateroom credit from DCL and $100 stateroom credit from DU so that is definitely worth having.
I wish the rest of my life was so organised. On Monday it was advised that we would be celebrating Pink Halloween at work on Friday. We either have to come into work dressed in pink or in Halloween costume and the whole thing is a fundraiser for a Breast Cancer charity. I don't really wear pink nor have I ever celebrated Halloween so I am a bit stuck. Still, it is for a good cause and as a team leader I do have to lead by example when it comes to things like this. Fortunately I am on the graveyard shift today so I can go to town for some shopping before I go to work. I am leaning towards something piratey so that I can reuse it for our cruise next year. I hope that I will find something suitable.

Hi everyone. Our family will most definitely be dressing for pirate night. My husband loves his wench. :rotfl2: At least Richard and I will be wearing the lanyards with the tags. I'm not sure if Lilli will or not. I never know with her. :confused3 Now I wanna make sure I've got it correct, green mickey ears on the back of the lanyard and our logo on the front. Correct? And, we're doing shirts for our entire group (shhhhhh, it's a surprise, don't tell schmoopiecat - heee heee :lmao: ). Actually, Richard and I are going to create something fun and then we're going to ship it out early and have it delivered to his parent's room to surprise them. Let's hope they wear them. :) The rest of us will have them on. We won't have our logo on them but we will not be missed that's for sure. :3dglasses Anyway, I'm working on my hubbie to see about coming a day early and getting to the ship early. We'll see what happens.

Well, I've gotta start doing something here at work before the boss comes in. See ya later! Kristi

Kristi...I think that sounds right about the lanyard. My view was if you print the logo on one sheet and the green ears on another or the back side and that way if the lanyard turns and we can't see the logo we should all recognize each other from the green ears. I know I am brilliant.....you can all say it.:rotfl2: I can't wait to see your creative shirts!! I THINK we are making shirts too but we'll see ....not sure I can find S/s shirts right now.
I hope you all have a great day!!

39 degrees and no coats!!:scared1: My kids would get pneumonia! I'm all excited because it's going to "cool down" this weekend and I finally don't have to watch football in 85 degree weather (there's something wrong with that). It's going to be 67.

OK Andrea here goes the warm freaks freakin about clothing and cold. haha Cold does not give illness...crazy warm blooded folk! U are probably wearing ur jeans and sweatshirts in 69 huh? I would do they happy dance for that temp.

Just because I am sitting here in my jeans and sweatshirt, drinking hot coffee and shivering does not make me any less of a person! :rotfl: And yes, I'll have you know that anything less than 70 is cold to me. I think I'm in a sweatshirt at anything less than 73. Don't judge me!! Born and raised in CA, it's not my fault, blame my parents, yes it's my parents fault. With all this sun out here you would think I have a tan, nope, no tan for me. I'm as pale as they come, just ask Laura, she'll tell you. I don't think I am going to stand next to her in pictures on the cruise, cuz she gets a good tan. :beach:

Hey regarding all that tan stuff, I'm just as pale as they come too. And I'm alright with that. After all, pale skin is pure skin. :) LOL Lovin' it. :) My daughter on the other hand, I can put tons and tons of sunscreen on her at the highest levels and she will leave that cruise as dark as can be. It's amazing. It took about 8-9 months for her tan lines to go after the last cruise. Unbelieveable. :)
