I know my family would be interested in the fish extender idea. We did something similar with the DIS group we got to know for our last trip and had a blast delivering goodies to people. We actually made it a family oriented thing and put together small goodies that represented something about us or where we lived and then delivered them to the rooms. Some people used the fish extenders while others hung their gifts directly off the fish itself. My daughter couldn't wait to get to the room each day to see what was there. So we're in for sure. Hopefully we get more people on this thread. Well, back to work I guess.

Hi Kristi, I am glad that you are doing the fish extender exchange too. I told my daughters about it and they are excited. I bought the cutest fish extender from a lady on ebay. Cant wait to use it.

Does anyone know what deck they will be calling home for this cruise? We are going to be on deck six.

Just love my DH. He booked a Navigators Verandah as a surprise. Big bonus for our 32nd anniversary tomorrow (5-22)next stop Jersey just to hold us over till we sail
We are on deck 7, just down the corridor from BFF & her fam. I like the fish extender idea. I know that BFF & fam had a blast on their last cruise.

Hi everyone, Does anyone have a photo of the fish extender? This is our first cruise ever and really don't know much of the little customs everyone does. We aren't traveling with kids, but I am a big kid at heart! So what kind of stuff does everyone leave?
Also they have a certain deck they call"home"? Can someone explain that to me . We are on deck 7. lucky enough to have gotten a secret veranda room.

I don't know how to post pictures or I would put on up of the fish extender I bought on ebay. It is really cute.
I think the deck to call "home" means, what deck will you be staying on for the length of the cruise. I could be wrong, I am new to the cruising scene.

We will be on this cruise too!! It will be me, Andrea, I will be lets see, umm, 36, DH,Ryan, will be 38. Our three DD's, Ashley, Riley and Bailey, will be 15, 10 and 5. We have connecting cat 7's on deck 6. It will be our 3rd time on the Magic. Two cabins away from us will be my DB and his DW and their son, then next to them, in a secret verandah room will be my DB's in-laws. Can't wait! We're in for the fish exchange! We live in Vacaville, CA, near Sacramento, and my DB and his family are just outside of Boston, MA.

This will be their first cruise, Disney or other.
I was really stressed out about taking my oldest out of school because she will be in high school. We have always taken our kids out for Disney vacations, but high school is different, but I went ahead and booked it anyway and I just found out that their district is changing the school calendar, so they are going a week later in the summer and now they are getting a week off in October, you'll never guess what week! Yep, the first week. I was so happy when I found that out. So now the only day they will miss will be the Friday before the cruise (assuming they keep the same week for 2009 that they are doing in 2008). Because of the time change we have to leave early morning and we don't get there until late evening.
Sorry to go on and on, I'm just so excited!
And my DH is the type that doesn't get excited until we are sitting in the car driving to the airport, he doesn't even want to talk about it until about a week before, and that's a long time from now.

Hey all! So glad to see more people joining the group. WELCOME! I am beyond excited that we're doing a second Disney cruise. We have such wonderful memories from the first cruise. As earlier mentioned on this thread by my BFF, my family will be on Deck 7 just down the hall from the BFF and her DH. Don't remember if I shared about my family but it's me, Kristi (39 at travel time; just shy a month from my 40th birthday); my DH (43 at travel time); my DD (age 7 at travel time); and hopefully we'll have an addition to our family by then and I am not sure her age at that point. We are awaiting an adoption from Vietnam. Our DD is also adopted from Vietnam. We have an age range of 6 mos. to 18 mos. so who knows what age our newest DD will be. Only time will tell.

Anyway, we are beyond excited. This week we're telling my in-laws the dates of this cruise and they will also be joining us.

We booked this cruise last week while on the WB repo. It will be me (42), DH (44), Dsis (39), DBIL (40) and Dniece (8). 5th cruise for DH and me, sis, dbil and niece are all first time cruisers.

And we are all Flyers fans even though we no longer live in PA.

Would love to participate in FE gift exchange. It was great on the repo to get fish gifts everyday. I'm still sorting pictures and when I find my FE pics I'll post it.

So, like I stated earlier, we too will be on this cruise. It will be our first. I will be 36, my daughter will be 12, and my son will be 9. We have not gotten our room assignment yet. We live in Salt Lake City, UT. I guess we would like to participate in the fish extender thing. Can you all give me some ideas as to what is usually in them and how often we place stuff in them? Is this like picking someone name for a gift exchange or do we put stuff in all of them? We are heading to Disneyland in a couple of weeks after my kids get out of school. I think after that is over we will really start to get excited about the cruise. Wow, I just reread what I wrote and I can't believe how many different things I babbled about in a short time. Sorry for the confusion and for not sticking to one topic. I promise to improve

Hi, I just realized that I never told you guys who was coming on this cruise with me. It will be (at time of travel) Me, Robin (42), DH Matt (40), DD Gabrielle (10), DD Sophia (3).

We are so excited to be going My BFF is trying to sign up to the disboard so she can start chatting with us.

HI guys, welcome! You are going to love the Disney Cruise! My family had been on about 5 cruises before we found the Magic. We loved cruising, it didn't really matter what cruise line...until we found our true love. After the first time we went on the Magic we were hooked! However, we thought we would still be able to do other cruise lines too...boy were we wrong. Since cruising with Disney, we have only tried to go back to the others once, after that we vowed to only do Disney. This will be our third time on the Magic. We have never booked this far in advance though, so it's going to be a long wait!

I had something I wanted to share that isn't cruise related but figured those of you with children will understand our excitement. Our 5 yr old DD just lost her first tooth yesterday! Needless to say, I'm sitting here just waiting (impatiently mind you) for her to wake up and see if the tooth fairy came. Ok, she can wake up now. Hey there! To answer your question about the tooth fairy, she was VERY excited! The first thing she did was put her hand under her pillow in the morning and check. SOO COOOOLLLLL!!!!!!!

Now, as for the countdown banner, I went to the tickerfactory website to get the banner. You follow the directions and then copy the link to your "signature" on this thread. Hope this helps. Kristi
