Oct 26- is something going on?

Is there a convention/event/something going on around Oct 26/27 that we haven't heard about? From what I've read, it's supposed to be a fairly quiet time of year, but when I've called to try to change my AS Sp reservation to a moderate, every single resort is sold out!

I get that it's F&W and MNSSHP, but still- NO rooms anywhere?

Am I missing something?

I don't know when Jersey Week is exactly, but it's close to that time. That could cause the crowding.

It's the Disney Martial Arts Festival Weekend, a new marathon weekend, and it is all the other things, F&W, etc.
I tried to get another room for that weekend today and there is one room at AS SP available - I am at movies and need a room there.

We are also going that same time of year. I asked the same thing. I found out that there is some sort of marathon going on at MGM on Saturday night. Other then that, I think it is all the normal stuff. I keep trying to get in the WL for our whole stay, but am having to settle for staying at two different properties. I checked on line last night and found that there were rooms available at POFQ from 10/24-10/30. Try playing with the dates a little and maybe you can cancel what you don't need or stay at two different properties like we are. Hope you have a great time!

It's ToT 13th ann special on the 27th (DD's B-day) .They are doing a 13K marathon I think and a few other events.

We wanted to go down so bad but with her starting HS this year and Sports we just couldn't swing it.

One CM told me and I confirmed it online- It is the Democratic State Convention! I want to change my dates from Oct 26-Nov 2 to Oct 24-31 and I cant get in at any deluxe! I will just have to deal for now.

The 26th is 1 day before my b-day and 2 days before DD (2)'s b-day. The ToT anniversary is awesome. I didn't know it was on the 26th. When DD is older, she'll definetly want to visit that for her b-day.

I always travel during non-peak time. I've been seven times. Every single time it is reported on these boards that the resorts are "100%" booked. Its never a big deal. The parks aren't overly crowded and the resorts don't feel "full". I sometimes wonder if they take some rooms out of commission for non-peak times and that's why we get so many "the resorts are full" reports

Well--while all those reasons are real good ones for the Resorts being booked up I know the REALLLY TRUE reason

It is because that is the weekend the VILLAGE PEOPLE are playing for the EAT TO THE BEAT concert

And all this time I was thinking it was Dan Zanes that was selling the place out!!I know that is why I am going-not for the fact that it is my DDs 6th birthday or my 7th anniversary! Bring on the Dance Party!!!

Yea because the Big WorldCup Paintball is from the 24th-28th and the Funia is normally right after ot right before for some odd reason.

If a "quiet" park week is so full, Disney really needs to get on the ball with new resorts!

I read that it's a school holiday, making a long weekend for Florida kids, so Thursday and Friday's Halloween Party will be packed with the locals. Guess some of them got a hotel too!

BTW, if anyone tries to get in front of me for Dan Zanes tickets, I'll get Russ to make puppy eyes at you until you feel guilty. Also for the Village People line.

And for the record, a 13K is not a marathon. It's barely even 1/4 marathon. (And I can say that since I'll be there running it. )
