Ok people I need some help.

My DH and I were going to WDW this Oct, but decided against it due to other financial things we have going on. (ie..fixing up the house, etc)

So, I have been looking at the WDW site all the time. It makes me homesick! We were just there in Dec, and I want to live there!

Ok...here is where I need some advice. My DH thinks I am crazy for trying to figure stuff out for next year. Do you think I should start looking at where to stay now?
Last year, it was a last minute kind of trip and it worked out well. I just want to make sure we get the best deal.

There will be six of us going next year (5 of us...and our DD's friend).

Please help me!!

Hi!
I am also planning our first trip to WDW in Oct 2004. I will be interested in the responses you get. I know it's a long way off, but I am having fun learning all about WDW ins and outs from these message boards!
Are you planning to do the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom?

I am a firm believer that much of the enjoyment of the Disney vacation is in the planning. I have planned a trip 18 months in advance and another a year in advance. Both were great and we had a countdown to make our trip to make it seem more real.

I am not saying that all reservations need to made that early but consulting the boards is good preparation. Enjoy the process...not just the trip!

Since planning is half the fun for me and my WDW trips I would book now! We are going next week and have decided to go in October again also. Since we are still up in the air about where to stay in October we are going to wait until we come home in 3 weeks. We might decide to stick with the Poly or try out the CR next time. I would decide where you want to stay that is in your price range at rack rate. Book it and then if and when codes come out then apply it to your booking or upgrade to nicer hotel. Since we always go during MNSSHP, that factors in to when we are going to book to as those dates aren't out yet. Last year I booked 3 entire weeks in October and then when the MNSSHP dates came out I called and downsized the 3 weeks to two that fit around the MNSSHP.

skiwee---what a great idea!

MarieS, Yes we want to go to MNSSHP. That is one thing my boys are looking forward to!
I must say my favorite ride is the Haunted Mansion.

My DH just thinks I am a little nuts to plan this far ahead.
I think it is a good idea so we really have most of it done and paid for by the time it comes around.

We really had a great time in Dec and I only had 4 months to plan.
Everything worked out great. It was the first time we had ever stayed on site and we loved it.

Hopefully can do that again, but we will see how it all pans out.
