what is happening - besides the food/wine festavial and MNSSHP?

it has been sold out DVC resorts for a while. my brother and his family - are going to celebrate my DSIL birthday.

is it just the crowds for the above - or is something going on - that they might appreciate going to.

their park time is limited.

We are going then but F&W and MNSSHP are the only 2 big things I'm aware of. I know that schools in some states are on fall break then and it's been a busy time for at least the last 2 years. I think that adds to the popularity of the time more than other events going on.

I believe that there is a convention. Most of the rooms probably got reallocated for cash reservations.

They don't just reallocate DVC rooms for cash, like they are interchangeable. DVC rooms that are available for cash bookings come from members who traded out of the system or from DVC inventory owned by Disney and not by members.

Fall is one of the toughest booking times for Epcot resorts and has been for a while. 11 months out is key for most fall reservations at BWV and BCV. Close to Halloween always seems like high bookings as well, throughout the resort.

I tried to book through Disney for Oct. 21-27 for any Deluxe or Mod and was told zero availability. No idea what is going on.

Wasn't free dining offered for that time period too. That would not affect DVC rooms but would the Disney resort rooms.

Wow this is the week we are going. So glad I switched resorts right at the 7 mos mark.
