Hi guys! Sorry to be MIA lately. Merry Belated Christmas! It was very stressful and difficult time since I was on crutches. I have to say that I'm FINALLY off crutches as of this past monday!!!! My foot still hurts, but much better. I hope you all had a nice Chirstmas, we did! The kids made out!!! (of course!)
Sandy, fundraiser ideas... wing dings (find a resturant/bar.. you sell tickets, bar gets half of ticket price (usually $20 a ticket) and then for 2 or 3 hours the food and well drinks, tap beer and soft drinks are unlimited during that time to ticket holders), 50/50 raffles, candy bars, placing jars with his picture and WHY the jar is there on it and placing it in local restaurants and stores for change..... just a few ideas for you....
Heidi, that is nice about Chris coming home early. I hope you didn't have to pay to reticket the return trip. that can be a little pricey. I've seen pictures of the Dream... and all I can say is WOW!!!! I wish I could go with you! Take lots of pictures and POST them!!
Denine, I was thinking about your parents... and why couldn't you have them move in with you guys for awhile. You are an RN and when you are at work, Jerry would be home... IF help would be needed, You could transform the office into a bedroom for them and move the office to the basement or your huge bedroom OR even the spare room for awhile. You have a type of ramp don't you? If not, I believe my brother might have the ramp they used to get my dad in his house. Since one of Jerry's work perks is that he can work from home AND doesn't have set work hours, so to speak, it might be a relief for your mom and dad. Just trying to think of options for them. I know they would probably feel better being with family then in an assisted living facility and they wouldn't HAVE to sell their house until they are ready. With your experiences, they might feel better being with family and someone who has medical knowledge. I bet Kaleigh would love to have the company of her grandparents. PLUS, you would have an instant baby sitter!! (Kaleigh for them and them for her!!). Also you wouldn't have to worry about the cats while you guys are gone on your trips! Your parents DON'T need around the clock care so you wouldn't be "tied down to being home" all day and you can still do daily schedules of grocery store, Kaleigh's ball games...etc.... I do hope something works out for your parents.
Susan, our Christmas was wonderful! It's sad that it's over, but it still was very nice.
Well, gotta run! I hope to be back on later! IF not... I hope you all have a Very Happy New Year!!! Stay safe!!!!
