Happy Birthday Ben!

OK...Where is Sandy?????? I am starting to get worried here. Did she say anything about going away for the holidays?

Julie...soon, soon! Can't wait! Any name yet? I luke Quinn for a girl or boy actually. Keep us posted.

Nothing new here. Bronchitis is getting better. Belly felt like I had another appendicitis last night but so far is better this morning.

Have a good day all. Glad to hear that Turner is on the mend!

Happy Birthday Ben....

Barb and family will be in Gainsville at my granddaughters tonight and going into DW in the morning. We leave in the morning and our grandson that is visiting his mil will pick us up and take us to the Beach Club villa.

I got my house all cleaned yesterday and am enjoying the carpet...looks like a new house. Dick is feeling a little better.....Patti and family are still here waiting for the funeral that is tomorrow.

Bonnie you better take it easy....it takes awhile for the body to get back to normal and it sounds like you are doing too much.

Julie, you will have your baby by the time we get back....if you don't go today. Don't you just hate the waiting!! But once you hold that precious baby it is worth it.

Don't have much planned for today except watching the last football game of the season. At least the Broncos are going to be a wild card...

Happy Birthday, Ben!!

Sally - Have a great trip and tell Barb and her clan we ae so happy for them to be on their magical adventure! Can't wait til you all get back and we hear the details.

Bonnie - remember to rest, rest, rest!!

Julie - You only have a few more days to get that tax deduction in. What are you waiting for????LOL Good Luck!!

I'm getting worried about Sandy too. She didn't say anything about going away for the holidays. Hope everything is ok.

We're supposed to get in the low to mid 60s today. Unususal for this time of year.

I'll chat again later!

Hello everyone!

Julie: Glad to hear your grandma is doing better. Only a few more days for you!

Sue: Glad Turner is on the road to recovery!

Sally: Have a safe trip tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Ben!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnie: You will feel much better soon.

We did the day after Christmas shopping thing on Friday. We bought Kaleigh a dress for next Christmas and and a Princess top from the Disney Store for next winter. I bought a Christmas Mickey and Minnie plush set at 50% off at TDS. They are sooo cute!!! I also bought the Dillard's teddy bear for $6 and an ornament for $6. I may start a collection of Christmas bears!
Jerry went to Target for me this morning and did the shopping and also bought a storage unit for wrapping paper. I need to hit the grocery store tomorrow after Kaleigh's doctor appointment.

It was actually in the 50's today. The snow is almost gone and we went for a walk and got some fresh air in our lungs.

I think I will collapse after New Year's!:faint:

Just doing my daily checking in! Still here. I have come to terms that I will have to wait for the tax deduction for next year. I really think that the baby will come after the first of the year. I feel like I'm gonna burst! I have a doctor's appointment on wednesday morning so we will see what he has to say then.

We have no plans for New Years. Garry will be working and I will be home with the kids. Since he had Christmas off, he got stuck with New Years! Oh well.

I think we need to send out the mounties for Sandy! She has never been gone this long from the boards without telling someone!

Well, gonna go. I'm gonna try to get some sleep.....yeah right! See you all tomorrow!

It is 5:06 am and getting ready to go to the airport.....Julie when I get back your baby will be here....yeah!

Happy New Year everyone and I will tell Mickey you all said hello....love to you all and talk to you next year.....

Have fun...

Where is Sandy...maybe the computer crashed. I think I will call this afternoon to see what's up. Very concerned here.

Julie hang in there! Soon sis, soon.

I wonder if Jeanne got her dress for NYE.

Glenn and I will have a quiet time at home. Christmas and NY combined.

Have a good day ....all those that are left here and check in with us!

Surprise, surprise, it is me! I am sorry guys. No Mounties for me. Thanks for all your concerns!

We have been terribly busy! We had a wonderful Christmas. Everything is fine with us. Ted spoiled me with a new curio cabinet. He and Heidi conspired and got me to a furniture store on Friday. It was delivered yesterday. We also bought a new computer. I can't wait to get it up and running. This old thing is so slow and now can't run some things. Heidi found a terrific site that has WDW music and this computer couldn't support it. She can tell you all about the site.

Julie, hang in there. It will happen, I promise.

Bonnie, glad you are doing better. I haven't downloaded Olivia's pic yet. You certainly will have a wonderful New Years Eve!

Jeanne, get with it and try that dress on. Don't forget to take pictures!

Barb, glad the surprise went over good.

Sally, sounds like you had a nice Christmas. Sorry about Dick. Hope he is much better.

Denine, looks like you found some good deals at the Disney Store. We didn't buy anything there.

Susan, you are so sweet. Thanks for your email. Sorry about Turner's strep. That is not fun!

Lori, tell Ben Happy Birthday from Ted and I. We sshould have gone out and celebrated!

Gotta run. Graci and Noah just showed up.

I have to tell you something funny about our Christmas. We were going to have Ted's dad and his lady friend over for Christmas dinner but Ted's dad got sick and called on Christmas eve. So we woke up in the morning, opened presents, had a nice breakfast and headed off to a movie. We ended up watching two movies and by the time the last movie was over it was 6:00 and too late to cook. So instead of a nice ham dinner we had hot dogs at 7-11. Only at the Van Horn's !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atleast it will be a Christmas we all remember!!! You forgot to mention that the hot dogs we got from 7-11 were frozen and we had to cook them up ourselves!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rent a cabin or condo in a ski town? My boyfriends family decided to have a family reunion out in Colorado and wants to rent one of those two options and I have no idea how to even start looking for one.

Hi Heidi, so they gave you the chore of looking, huh? Came to a smart group for help. Surely someone will know. Forgot about the frozen hot dogs AND the crunchy dry buns. Oh well, like you said at least it will be a Christmas we will remember!:)

One more thing, Heidi. I went onto live365.com to put a link here to your station but I can't find the one with the WDW ride music. Is it still there? I know everybody here would love it. Hope it wasn't a one time deal that you fell into!

Yes I'm still about. Sorry I haven't posted for a bit, I've been busy and lazy :D

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I have to wish everyone a Happy New Year. :sunny:

I was quite ill on the days leading up to Christmas, I had a bad cold and the flu. Ended up spending 4 days in bed. By Christmas day I was starting to get over it but still didn't feel great.

As my parents are in South Africa and the rest of my family are dotted all over the place at the moment I spent Christmas Day alone. Although that may not have been a bad thing the way that I felt. I ended up having a Microwavable Beef Stew meal for one for my Christmas dinner!!! (Although that was followed bu Christmas pudding, mince pies, and large amounts of Chocolate!)

On Boxing day I went back to work, and thats where i've been every since, this is my first day off, then lucky me I'm working the night shift tomorrow (new years eve) and I'm working New Year Day so won't be seeing much of those. Well I have to start saving for the October cruise don't you know!!!

Anyway, I tried out a new shopping service today. The UK supermarket chain Tesco now lets us order our groceries off there web site and then they'll deliver them to your door. You can pick a delivery day and time when you wish for them to arrive. It is sooo great. I did my shopping on-line last night, picked what I wanted, asked for it to be delivered between 1pm and 3pm today and I now have them. No hassle. No fighting round the supermarket with 15,000 other people as it's christmas time. I Love it!

Oh, by the way, Lion King was excellent. I've never known 2 1/2 hours go by so quickly. I had such a great seat, and the show was just magical. If any of you haven't seen it all I can say is make sure you do!!!

Well I'd better dash, still loads to do, washing, ironing, cleaning (Oh I'm so looking forward to do it all  )

P.S. Watch your mailboxes... :earsboy:

Hey, Sandy is still among the living. Glad to hear everything is fine. A curio and a new computer, wow!

Bonnie: I forgot to mention about the hippo. Last year, on Christmas, we heard a song on the radio called I want a hippopatomus for Christmas. We had never heard it before and didn't hear it this year. So, we started saying that Kaleigh wanted a hippo for Christmas. I joke about getting her a stuffed hippo.

Julie: Hang in there. Only a few more days. So, Garry gets to work the fun night of the year.

Kaleigh had her 15 month checkup yesterday. She got 3 shots, including the chicken pox vaccine. She is 22.2 pounds and 31-1/2 inches long. Actually, she was measured at 29-1/2 inches at the doctors, but when I got home and looked, they had her shrinking 1/4" from her 12 month checkup, so we measured her here. We went to the Ground Round for dinner.

Today I have to chop veggies for tomorrow. I have the wild rice softening in hot water so I can cook it later.

Jerry is working from home tomorrow. I will try to check in at some time. Our friends are coming at 4:30 PM.

Darren: We posted at the same time. Sorry to hear you were ill for Christmas! Hope you are felling much better now. Try to enjoy your New Year's anyway!

Hi Darren and Denine.

Sorry that you were sick over the holidays, Darren. Seems like everyone over here has some form of the cold! My niece just got back from Disneyland and was sick. That's right......save for that trip! Can't wait to see you! AND talk to you. Maybe we can link dinners together with Jeanne and Joyce. I love the way you just shopped. Perfect way to grocery shop over the holidays! Could you pick brand names?

Denine, does cooking ever end? Give Kaleigh a big hug from me!

Hi guys!
Poor Darren! That frozen stew for one, beat out Sandy's frozen, crunchy hot-dogs for pitiful Christmas dinners!!!;)
I like Sally's gifts best!
I got a gift card to Target from my Dad so I bought a new padded toilet seat and half price Christmas stuff LOL:p No more scratchies from the old seat with the rip in it  I knew you all really wanted to know about that.
Cody got a remote control airplane and a new REAL leather jacket. I'm thinking of tattooing his name into it. Katie got a new snowboarding pants and jacket set. They got the stuff that they had wanted in Hawaii but I'm such a mean, mean mommy, I didn't get them (so they thought). Actually, the crawling soldier that Cody wanted, I found at the toy store here at home for less than half price. (being the meanie I am, I still let him think I got it in Hawaii) Katie wanted a jeweled sandal necklace, so I did buy that there. Pretty low key on the gifts actually.

Ben and Katie are up in the mountains. Lucky me, I'm getting Cody all to myself. He got to sleep in Ben's spot last night. PLEASE don't anyone tell Michael Jackson's prosecutors about that!!!:earseek:

OK, I've caught my breath, time to run again.
See ya'll. Peace and good health to all.

Heidi, there are Property Management companies that many condo owners use to manage the rental of their units. The company that does the building where my parents have a place is called Columbine, but those are kindof cheaper places. If you contact the Summit County or Eagle County visitor's centers, they will have lots of information for you. Sometime the visitor center staff can even find the place for you. They probably get a commission. If not, then they can set you up with the names and numbers for Property managers for whatever town you are looking into. Good luck.

Bonnie, glad you are back and on the mend!
Julie, I'm aching for you! I wont complain for the next few nights about not sleeping well. Maybe for some distraction....
When are we opening those presents???

Ok, so I;m making up for lost time.
Bonnie, hey, that was a very cute Santa and Mrs. Clause photo-op. I don't think I've ever seen Mrs. Clause at our mall. Olivia did look pretty serious! LOL That's still endearing. My Mom loves the school pictures of me and my kids best when they are a little off from the usual deer in headlights smile. This shows unique character:p

Lori - Thank you so much for the info and tidbits, I will tell my boyfriend right away and maybe he can do it instead of me!!! Ask my mom how much I love calling people, not my favorite thing to do.

If anyone has any more ideas I will gladly listen!!! I need all the help I can get.
