Greg lived in New Orleans and I lived in St. Louis. About 750 miles apart. We did that until the actual day we got married. We saw each other about 12 times (weekends only) before the big day - that was really a crazy thing to do but we are very blessed that it worked out the way it did, could have been a real disaster! He's such a good guy! The day after we got married we got in separate cars and drove to Boston for him to start graduate school the next week (with no place to live). Good thing we were young (he was 27 & I was 26).

Congratulations to the newlyweds!!!!!!! I Know the Wedding was beautiful!

Thought about you Sandy all day! I can't wait to see pictures!

Way to Go Lori! Thanks for keeping our "family" in their thoughts! I really would have loved to see the look on Sandy's face when she saw it. I hope she took a picture of it!

Denine, sorry to hear about your back. I sure hope that it will start feeling better soon. SO, what KIND OF PIE? When do you want us? (I LOVE PIE!!!! All kinds!)

SUsan, sounds like you have a full plate on your schedule tomorrow! Have a great time and give Stanley and Abby a kiss from "auntie Julie"

Bonnie, sorry I misses your call again! I will try to be home next time!

Great to hear from you Diana!

BEST WISHES TO STACEY AND RICHARD!

Have a great sunday!

Good morning to all. The wedding was so perfect. The sun came up for a short time and the drizzle stopped. She was able to get outside pictures. It went off without a hitch. What a day. It went by so fast. I had a fabulous time. She was so beautiful and so was Heidi. Our two families have known each other for so long that we had a blast at the reception together. Everyone but his mother. Lori, go figure! Got lots and lots of pics. One time when Ted and I were dancing some girl was on the dance floor with a lime green pretty in her hair. I just smiled. I was very tickled over that. Got home around 1 in the morning and finally had dinner. Leftover goodies from the reception. We didn't stop to eat there. Thank goodness I chose a buffet for breakfast. I came home, unloaded only half the car and started coughing and had a heaviness in my chest. I woke up to a cold. I am so happy that it held off through the wedding. Just a little stuffy and a sore throat. I keep thinking about all the people that I kisssed last night. Oh my goodness.

Lori, the hanging thingy (your words not mine) is beautiful. I have to leave it up for a while. Did you get to see the final resting spot for it? It is on my front door. As we were pulling away from the house it just stood out. The girls, Ted and myself all said ahhhhhh. I DO wish that you were here to see my initial response. I did cry and Ted got teary eyed also when he watched me. Stacey was here and I told her that she just will never know the bond that this thread has. She too got tear eyed. Thanks Lori. You started the tears!

I am exhausted. I will address all your posts at a later time. Ted is still sleeping. Maybe I can crawl under a blanket and fall back to sleep.

Sandy- So happy to hear everything went off without a hitch...thought about you all day. To think a year ago we were all posting like this but hadn't met each other!! What a family we turned out to be!! I am curious about the whole day though...no dinner at the reception? Just Hor D'oeuves? Weddings are so different across the county. I hope you feel better. Just think...you have given everyone at the wedding something to take home...a cold!!!

Chillin' today. Love you all!!!!!!!

Glad it all worked out so well, Sandy! The day sounds like it was fun and perfect. You must be SO tired! And with a cold now. Ugh, drink some juice and go back to bed. (I swear Katie didn't glue-gun her cold onto the 'hangie thingie', although she does seem to be all better now:rolleyes: )

Sandy: Glad to hear the wedding went off without a hitch. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Diana: I could never do a long distance relationship. That is so hard.

Julie: So, do you want the car seat or not? I don't care either way, I just want it out of my dining room!

Lori: How sweet!

Sue: Hope you had an enjoyable day!

Bonnie: Olivia sounds very much like Rachel, Kaleigh's godfather's daughter. Even as a newborn, no one but mom or dad could hold her. She is now a 5 year old and just started kindergarten.

My back is feeling better today, not perfect, but doable. I hate when it gets like that!

I made a rasberry, blackberry, strawberry pie. We devoured half of it for our meal for the day. It came out picture perfect. All I needed was the vanilla ice cream!

Went to some friends last night (Kaleigh's godfather) and received another car seat (yeah, we have one in each car now!), and a bunch of toys their 2 kids have grown out of. It is so good to have friends like that! She is about ready to box up more clothes for Kaleigh. They gave us so much when we first found out about Kaleigh.

We just relaxed today.

Ollie is doing much better!

:D :D SOUNDS LIKE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!!! :D :D

I am so glad that everything turned out well for the wedding!!! I even wore lime green in honor of the day so I was thinking of you!!

Lori -- You rock!!! I wish I lived there and could have gotten in on the sneaking around!! I love pulling off that kind of stuff!! :bounce: :bounce:

We had a dreary weekend here. Saturday morning soccer game in a constant rain. But at least it wasn't 90 degrees and the rain kept the hornets and yellowjackets away!!! They seem to be constantly buzzing around during the fall season.

Pixie dust to Sandy and Denine!!!! You guys get better!!!

Have a great rest of the day!!

Nothing new between yesterday and today except that I got to talk to Julie!!!

Garry- you must be such an incredible hunk now!!! Working out, so buff!!! Totally irresistble!

Sandy- I hope you are recovered from the wedding...can't wait to hear more about it...hope you are feeling better!

Denine-a berry pie sounds great!! Send some over!

Good Morning....

Sandy...... So glad the wedding was perfect and you had a great time.....now get over that cold. Today is a good day for you to rest. I am going to Curves so I will work out for both of us....

Denine......Pies! Yummy....I only have this week to lose some more weight so I can eat on the cruise....I got two new exercise outfits yesterday to take...I thought if I get up and put one on I will be more in the mood to walk the ship...

Our grandaughter took us out to dinner yesterday for Grandparents day....it was last week and she had a fit when she realized she had missed it. I have l4 grandchildren and she is the only one that remembered it.....It isn't advertised very well and I happened to see it someplace or I wouldn't have remembered myself.

I have so much to do today I don't know where to start....well I do, exercising. Then my grandaughter wants me to put her name on some towels and washclothes (I have done one set) so that is going to take a big chunk out of the day... I bought a new formal and have to shorten the straps and start packing. She has a skirt that needs a little repair and Barb is leaving tomorrow to take her to school so it has to be done today.

I am not getting notice when anyone posts like I use too....is everyone else?

Oh I forgot.....Happy Belated Birthday Bonnie.....your not getting older you are getting better......at least that is what I keep telling myself....

Good morning, albeit a rainy one.

Sally: Don't forget to tell us all about the cruise when you get back. I can re-live our Panama Canal cruise through you! Don't get too busy so that you are worn down for the cruise.

Laurie: Soccer in the rain...sounds fun  I think I'll take my chances with the wasps.

Starting to feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done for Kaleigh's party and then vacation.

We bought Kaleigh a formal for the cruise next October. It is so cute and must have cost a lot of money brand new, but we only paid $10. She will look like a princess!

Have to sit and rest a minute....just got back from Curves.....

Denine, I just realized you are going on the same cruise we are next Oct. Hope we see more of you than we did the group on our last Disney cruise....can't wait to see Kaleigh in her little formal...

Guess I better go get some laundry started and then to my embroidery....there is a towel and around half dozen wash cloth

Need to get some packing done...not my favorite job.

Oh, Denine, what time of year did you go and what was the weather like...I was told it will be very humid..ugh. When I lived in Ohio I didn't notice the humidity much but once we moved away it really gets to me if it is high.

My son's town is flooded!!! Boats, men in scuba gear...no way in no way out...they had 8 inches in their basement. They got 6 inches of rain in 1 hour!

Other than that nothing new.

Mom...have fun on the cruise!!! Where is Barb????? She doesn't post anymore.

Oh dear I guess Sandy isn't feeling any better...no posts.

Had a very busy weekend here. Sounds like the wedding was wonderful. So sad to hear Sandy is under the weather but glad it held off until after the ceremony and reception.

No rain here but hot and humid. All that could change in if Isabel comes to the Carolina coast. We get our share of bad weather with huricaines. In fact, with Hurricaine Hugo in 1989, we lost both cars and had to move out of our house because we had a tree come through it. We had been in it long enough to make one house payment but not unpack everything!

Dinner is ready gotta run. I'll try to get back on later this evening.

Later!

Barb has been busy getting Jaymee ready for school....they leave tomorrow so she took 1/2 day off finishing up....

Please keep Patti and family in your prayers.....they just found out Julie's baby has an eye disease called nystagmus....they are going to do a MRI to see if he has a brain tumor. Patti is trying to stay strong for Julie....Dylan will be a year old in Nov. and is such a cutie...

Sally, I will keep Patti and her family in my thoughts and prayers! I hope that the MRI comes back ok. Please tell Patti that her Disney family is with her! Please keep us posted.

Denine, soory that I forgot to post to you about the car seat. I thought I had sent you an email, but I guess I didn't. We have a car seat BUT I have to dig it out to see what kind of shape it is in. It was both Makenzie's and the Big Guy's so I don't know how good of shape it is in. If you would like to get it out of your kitchen, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. If I can't use it would you like it back? ( this is if you still have it that is )

Susan, sounds like Isabel might be coming your way. Please stay safe and try to keep us posted. STAY SAFE!!!

Bonnie, how is your son doing with all that water? Can they get out or are they going to be stuck? With the hurricane on the way, I sure hope they won't get too much water with the storm. We are being told here in Ohio that we WILL feel the effects of Isabel.

Sandy, I hope that you are feeling better soon. I sure the wedding took A LOT of energy! Is the hurricane going to affect the honeymoon or will they miss it? My grandmother in Florida said that they are reporting the storm will miss them this time.

Laurie, great to hear from you! Please post more often.

Barb, I hope that things will slow down for you when Jaymee begins school. I know it will be hard to see her go, but I'm srue you will all stay close and still be apart of each others daily route. I know that I still talk to my mom almost everyday and that started when I went off to college.

Have a Great Tuesday everyone!

Sally - Pattie's Julie and Dylan are in my prayers. Please keep us posted and we'll pray for the best. Are you feeling better these days? You have a big trip coming up and you need to be well to have a great time.

Sandy - are you feeling better yet? Pixie Dust is sent your way! We still want to hear more about the wedding.

Bonnie - as Julie said, I hope Isabel doesn't bring your son more rain. Sounds like that is definitely NOT what they need. Are you feeling better?

Julie - How's Makenzie liking her pre-school class? You haven't mentioned this in a while? Does the Big Guy miss her when she is gone?

Denine - is the pie all gone now? It sounded yummy!! I love the idea of a little formal gown for Kaleigh for next year's cruise. She will be adorable! How's the party planning coming along?

Turner has hockey practice this evening so I may not get a chance to get back on. Everyone have a great day!

Later!

Good Morning

It has been about 2 weeks since I posted last but I have been reading the board everyday. I have been a little down lately but have enjoyed keeping up with everyone. Jaymee will be so far away it has been hard letting go but I see how excited she is so I am happy for her. A big step in her life.

Thanks for the encouraging words Julie. I am going to talk to her every chance I get. When you are on the "Mom side" of the leaving home makes you reflect on your own relationships. Once I get back I am going to try to spend time with my own Mom. I haven't been to good at that lately. Between work and a million other things I have pulling me in different directions.

We leave in about 2 hours. First stop will be Patty's for a couple of days. I will let her know how much her Disney family cares about her.

Sandy-Glad the wedding came off without a hitch! Hope you get to feeling better. Glad the travel agent came through! Guess he heard he would have your Disney family to deal with if he didn't!

Bonnie-Hope everything is ok with your son. 8 inches of water...Yikes! Say Hi to Glen for us. And Happy belated birthday!

Joyce- I am so sorry about your Dad.

Julie- How are you feeling?

Lori-You are too funny! I love the plan next time call I would love to join in! Or at least take pictures!!

Susan-Hope everything stays dry for you.. No Hurricane,No Hurricane,No Hurricane. Of course being in one does make a great story! Just kidding. Are you still in Weight Watchers?? How is it going??

Mom- It is great to see you feeling better. You are back to your old self again. Good to see your posts on the board again. Hummmm seems you post more when you are getting ready for a Cruise......

I keep thinking of this time last year. We were all so excited about the cruise. Lime green this and Lime green that. It makes me sad we won't all be on the same cruise next time. Lets all shoot for a Reunion Cruise in 2006 and all be on the same cruise!!

Sandy & Lori and Mom I still want to plan a get together with Mom leaving I guess our outdoor will be an indoor. Lets make it a "Pre Holiday Party" We could also meet somewhere for lunch again too. We can drive to Denver and go to the CheeseCake Factory again. This time I will make sure Mom goes.

I hear Bob upstairs walking around. Guess I had better finish getting ready to go. We are off to Texas. Hot Hot Hot. We have finally cooled down here some and now I get to go back to the hot! ICK

Barb:smooth:

My "cookies" were having problems again!

SANDY: I am SOOOOOO happy for you and your family. It is wonderful that everything turned out perfect! Tell Stacy I wish her a happy and fulfillled life.:Pinkbounc

BONNIE: Is your son's house still standing? I could not believe the pictures of that area and is the worse yet to come? If Isabel hits that area it could be REALLY bad.

Now news on Joyce. Stopped by the Church on my way to work - Joyce looked so tired. She has three sisters but they all put the responsibility on her. She is taking this week off from work but I talked to her last night. She said she keeps waiting for him to come out of his room while she is having her morning tea.

What is this new baby? No views on the Ultrasound? Glad everything looks good.

Had to re-registered to get on the Boards but tried to keep my name similar. Miss you all. Both Joyce & I can't wait until DISNEY IN DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got reservations for the Princess Breakfast! Love you all! Toodles JEANNE

 :earsgirl:  :earsgirl:

Wow! Lots of posts!

Sally: We went in April. It was quite humid in Costa Rica and Panama. It rained the day we went through the locks. We only went through the Atlantic locks into the lake, turned around and went back out the same locks. I'd love to go all the way through the Canal, but we couldn't take that long of a cruise. Ours was a 10 day cruise. We did take a train tour along the Canal to the Pacific side and saw those locks. It was so cool. We can't wait to take Kaleigh!

Julie: You may have the car seat. I was going to take it to the resale store or just give it away if you didn't want it. It is in really good shape.

Barb: Have a safe trip. Jaymee will be fine. She will probably miss you more than you know!

Prayers to Patti and Dylan. Hope the MRI comes out fine.

Sue: Hope you aren't too affected by Isabel. We are supposed to get wind and rain from it.

Jeanne: Tell Joyce we are thinking about her. I don't even want to think about when that time will come for us. Glad you are back on.

Bonnie: How awful about the rain. I had not heard. I hope Ryan gets his basement cleaned out and dried out.

Sandy: Hope you are feeling better. Stacey leaves today, right?

Kaleigh's party: I have a list of stuff and when to do it. I ordered the cake today, Pooh with balloons. My recipes are printed off and waiting to be made. Jerry is taking the Friday off before the party to help. Kaleigh will have her pictures taken on Tuesday next week. All the decorations have been purchased along with the plates, etc... The party is an Oktoberfest theme. Menu: German Franks, Brats in beer with onions, hot dogs (for the kids), 2 kinds of homemade bread, spaetzel, sauerkraut, Krautkrapfen, cherry strudel, German potato salad, and cake, plus snacks to munch on while waiting for the food. I am making most of it myself. Just pray for no rain! Luckily, it is a small party with just family.
