Joyce's dad passed away yesterday morning. He was 88 years old and healthy until he got sick recently. The service is Saturday. He lived with Joyce.

My friend Colleen...known her since I was 10 years old, is spitting up with her 20 year "lover"...if you get my gist. She has found someone else. She has always (almost) lived within a few miles of my house as kids then as adults in a different region of NJ. She will be moving 53 miles away!!!!

Not in the best of moods right now.

You guys aren't going to believe this one. Stacey's travel agent took their money and ran. He didn't put money down on their trip and if they want to go they have to pay for it all over again. 5000.00. Stacey is hysterical. It is a horrible long story. Please keep your fingers crossed for her. They were to leave this next Tues. Disney confirmed that they did not receive money for the WDW part of their trip so the ressies were cancelled. The cruise line has some money.

Barb, thanks for listening to me. I am so sad, scared, mad and everything else. Poor you had to IM me.

In all my worries I forgot to address the death of Joyce's dad. I am soooo sorry to hear that. The death of a parent is always so hard. Joyce is in our thoughts and prayers.

Joyce, we are so sorry to hear about your lost. Please know that you are in our hearts and prayers!

Sandy, that is awful news about Stacey's travel agent. When did he "take the money and run"? I sure hope that they will get their money back. If he worked for an "travel agency" the agency is responsible and I would be taking someones head off! I hope everything works out. Please let Stacey know that we are thinking of her!

Sandy...it will all work out ...I feel it in my bones. I wonder if you could file charges against the individual and have him arrested...after it all works out. Then sue! Stacy shouldn't have to worry about this 2 days before her wedding!!!

Barb-where are you???? Did you run off to WDW???

Krista!!!!!!! Did you leave us???? You too Laurie!!!

Got a little sappy last night...I was thinking how lucky we are to have met each other. You figure we only spent a week together and then not day and night but we are like a family in a way. I couldn't have met a better bunch of people. Actually it is funny how we all stick together despite being such a diverse goup!!!

Garry-What can I say? Words are not adequate enough to describe how great you are!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc It all worked out! ALREADY! Probably wasn't handled properly but it worked. The travel agent was to call them last night and never did. They were to fax him something and he turned off his fax. So.........they drove over to his house and called him and told him they had his fax info at his doorstep so he opened the door. Richard told him that he wanted every penny back. Of course the travel agent said "you can't do that" but Richard was insistant. Richard is a big guy and can be intimidating. He also insisted on CASH. The travel agent fought that too but did pay in cash at his house. Now, tell me. How many of you keep that much money at YOUR house? What was his plans? How many others? Was that cash from some other unsuspecting family?

Bonnie, I was sappy about this group a couple of days ago. What is it? I guess we all know how good we have it and what a wonderful group of people it is. And when we need someone to turn to or talk to, this "family" is ALWAYS there for us. I felt it last night as you know with your phone call.

Julie, your reasoning was right about the guy working for the travel agency but he was fired two months ago and Stacey didn't know it. When they made final payment he called them and told them that he has been so busy that he decided to work out of his house. Could they bring over the deposit there. That is what they did. And that is how they knew where he lived. That is how the agency got out of it because he was not working for him at the time. I tell you, there is sooooo much more to this story. It starts way back when with Heidi's Bryan's family. Since they broke up we never knew about it. Now that Heidi works with his dad she called HIM about it and found out more things and got names and number to help.

Barb, what did I tell you to do??????????????????????????????;)

Tons and tons of stuff to do. The wedding starts off today with my haircut, then my nails. Hopefully I can make it back to the house to style my hair in time for the 2:00 rehearsal. At 6 is the rehearsal dinner. And then tomorrow, everything starts at 12 for the 6:30 wedding. I am already exhausted just thinking about it. At least the worry of the honeymoon is over.

By the way, can anyone tell me what happened on BB on Wednesday. Something happened to the VCR and it only taped about 5 minutes worth. I know that Erika was voted off.

Sorry this is long. Just thought that I should do a full report on Stacey.

Joyce: I am so sorry for your loss.

Sandy: Wow! Stacey is so lucky to have gotten the money back! Not something you want to worry about so close to the wedding. Have fun today getting ready and I am sure the wedding will be beautiful tommorow!

Bonnie: Sorry about your friend.

A beautiful day today!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Joyce - I am truly sorry for your loss. Having been there recently
and still coming to terms with it, I feel for you.....
Remember that we are all here for you. I will keep your
family in my prayers.

Sandy -- I am so glad that everything worked out with the travel
plans. Remember to relax and enjoy all of the festivities!!
and take pictures to share with the rest of us!!

Bonnie -- Cheer up!! It's ok to be a little melancholy!! I think you are just going through Glenn withdrawal. :( :( You can vent to us
since we are the DIS Ya Ya Sisters!! :p :p

It all worked out with the travel agent but...can they make the same arrangements as planned for the same price? What about airfare? I imagine I won't get answers to these queries until Sunday or Monday...so....

Best of luck to Stacy!!!! And congratulations!!!

Denine- glad to hear Ollie is better.

Mom- Where is Barb??? Did I miss something? Is she on vacation?

Laurie Ya Ya Lurker!!! Welcome back!!!

Had dinner with my firend. I am very disappointed in her and told her so. She is like a sister to me...since age 10...so I can tell her just what I think.

How about John Ritter? Makes you realize how short life can be and you should live it to the fullest!!!!

Have a good weekend all!

Lots of posts to read....

Bonnie, Jeanne - please give my love to Joyce and let her know that she and her family are in my prayers.

Sandy - I am so glad that the crisis did not last very long. I can't imagine how they were feeling. Tomorrow will be such a happy day for them. I hope you have had fun getting ready today and that the rehearsal goes smoothly. But most importantly, BEST WISHES to the bride and groom. I will think of you all often this weekend!

Bonnie - sorry you are a bit down right now. I wish I could cheer you up. Let's see, think about the great time you had on your recent trip with Glenn. Or, think about the cruise last year and Turner the sleepwalker! Or, thin about Olivia and how adorable her granmother is...I mean how adorable she is!!!

Not much new here just busy, busy, busy. We have hockey practice at 7:15am so no sleeping late tomorrow.

I'll check in over the weekend.

Later!

Hi guys, just can't go to bed without saying goodnight. This day went very smooth. Hopefully tomorrow will likewise. My haircut was perfect, the rehearsal and dinner was great. The wind is beginning to blow like crazy. I think the storm will be here soon. Oh well, it is on a patio that can be opened or closed so that doesn't matter. Just the outdoor pics will be affected. Sad but do able.

I found out more about Richard getting his money back. The travel agent never contacted them like promised last night so at 5:45 AM today he was sitting in the agents driveway in a lawnchair. At 7:00am Richard called him and told him he was in the driveway and there was only two ways for him to escape and he was blocking one of them. Actually, in the long run Stacey and Richard MADE money because the trip is now costing them 600.00 less. It was good to see them today. Both had relaxed alot.

Busy day ahead tomorrow. Thanks to all of you. I know that you will all be with me in spirit. Love you all very much. Sandy

Good morning, I think. I am up at 6 AM because my back is killing me and now, so is my head. Couldn't sleep last night because it was hurting so badly. So, I finally got up.

Sandy: Glad to hear the rehearsal went fine. Today is the big day. ENJOY! Congrats to Stacey and Richard!

Bonnie: My one friend (since we were 5) lives 2 hours from here. She moved to Columbus to go to Ohio State and stayed. She is now married, with 3 kids. We never get to see each other, unless she comes home to visit her mom and grandma. But, the last time I saw her was in December.

Going to the West Side Market today to buy meat for Kaleigh's party. You have to get there early. I will stick it in the freezer. We are going to visit some friends tonight.

Starting Kaleigh on milk today. I am going to mix her 1st bottle with 2 ounces and see how it goes. If no problems, I will increase it tomorrow.

Shannon keeps walking in front of the computer because she wants to be fed.

Good morning. We are off to breakfast. After that, we have hair appts and makeup appts. We are to be at the chapel at 4:30. When can we grab some dinner????? I am going to have to shower this afternoon also so my hair will be ok because of the humidity. Trying to work me into everyone else's schedule is impossible. Having appetizers after the wedding so perhaps that will be dinner. The storm blew over. It is to clear by noon. Just be in the 50's.

Denine, sorry about your back! Do you use heat or cold packs? I bet Kaleigh will be fine on whole milk.

Wow! 3 pages of eye-popping news. Yikes Sandy, I'll bet you ARE ready for a wine party. Good for Richard!
We are all thinking of you today.

Bonnie and Jeanne, please tell Joyce her sorry I am and that we all love her. I'll try to get a card mailed since I don't think she sees the board even under normal circumstances.

I've been up to my ears as usual. Katie's cold is trying to get me, but I have it on the run thanks to an arsenal of herbs. (Bonnie, I just had to hit the bed last night, so that "plan" didn't happen).

The popcorn selections must be different in different areas. Denine, yes that chocolate covered carmel corn is still on the list. Yummm! I'm getting that. Sandy, they have boxes of microwave popcorn, (Kettle, light, reg and "unbelievable" butter), the chocolate, a 28ox Carmel corn w/ pecans and almonds, and a 12 oz carmel corn with peanuts. Kettlecorn and reg. butter only comes in the microwave combo box which is stupid. Oh well. I don't see any that are kernels in a can. The Choc and lg. carmel are $15. Micro's are $12 for 15 packets/box, and sm. carmel is $7.

Well, Cody has to go play a soccer game in the cold, drizzly morning. I have begged out of going along. (sometimes claiming to have a cold comes in handy;) ) My neighbor is just finally regaining strength from having West Nile. That's 3 people I know of who got it. Once you catch it, you cant get it again. I almost would rather get it now while I'm SO young and strong. LOL

OK, Sandy, hope you are having a wonderful time, and that the pictures look pristine in their beauty if there is fresh glistening snow in the background.

I am here again. Back is still killing me. I am using a Thermacare patch which feels nice, but doesn't really help. I am going to have to break down and take my Vioxx. I am running really low and my appointment isn't until the end of the month.

We went to the Market this AM. We got there around 8 AM and the pork cutlets I wanted (coupon) were already gone. Actually, there were 2 left, but the coupon was for buy a pound, get a pound. We bought another stand out of Bratwurst (homemade). Ended up buying some Kielbasi for lunch this afternoon. It is sooooo good and we couldn't resist. Bought some berries for a good price too. I am going to make a pie tomorrow.

Went to the resale store and bought a bunch of winter stuff for Kaleigh. I had a 15% off coupon.

So far, so good with the milk.

Denine

Sorry to hear about your back, Denine. I think food beats out drugs ALMOST any day.

OK, the adventures of Lori and the kids...Stardate 9-13-03
Katie and Cody made a cute hanging thingy with lime green hearts hanging from it, for Ted and Sandy. I wanted to let her know that her DISer friends were thinking of her and I was going to try and do it last night and have it for Sandy to discover in the morning... but I ended up working late and felt low on energy ... so we did it this morning. ANYWAY, there we were, giggling in the van down the street, looking at the front of their house looking at options on how to hang it. That was the fun part. We planned to do the decorating, then I'd move the car up past their house and the kids would 'ding-dong-dash' them, run to the waiting getaway car, we'd hang at the corner turn to see Aunt Sandy come out in a robe, fresh from a shower and trying to get ready... That was the plan anyway. So, we sneak up to the house and, oh man, the front door is open. There's a big window with curtains all open of course, but I hoped they would be SO busy, they wouldn't be looking outside at that moment.
OK, here's what ended up actually happening. We got SO caught! We settled on where to hang it and I was going over the plan with the kids before going back to start the car and have it in position when TED opens the door and smiles down at us. Sandy wasn't even home, and Ted was just hanging out, totally relaxed and saw us come up.
Oh, we would make really bad thieves. Well, Sandy... we were thinking of ya. :p
Hope the day goes splendidly.
Love, Lori, Katie and Cody!

Can't stop to read. The wedding is in 2 hours. Just wanted to thank Lori, Ben, Cody and Katie. That was sooo sweet. I saw the lime green and honestly I cried. It was nice to be remembered by my other family.

I can't keep up with you guys!!!

Joyce, am terribly sorry about your Dad. My condolences to you and your family (Bonnie - will you please pass that on for me?)

The wedding should be close now, hope it turns out nice. My thoughts are with you Sandy.

Sorry about your back and headache Denine - glad to hear your dr. appt. last week went well. It's always something isn't it? If it's not you, it's your kid, or spouse or friend -- life is never ending fun!

Lori - that was cute! (and very thoughtful!)

Bonnie - Greg and I had a long distance relationship for 2 years - then we got married! That was 17 years ago and so far so good. It is VERY hard. Hang in there.

Good news on the baby front! It's such a relief to have that ultrasound done, and the place you had it done is very good and they'd know if something was off. Congrats so far!

Greg comes home from Hong Kong tomorrow night. He has missed Ian's entire soccer tournament but can't be helped. He also missed both BIG season starting hockey coaches meetings this week. I've been busy while he was gone. Can't wait till he gets home - have missed him (sappy I know!).

looking forward to hearing about the wedding!

later-----

THe wedding must be taking place now...I think you all in CO are 2 hours behind.

Good work Lori!!! You tried but at least you were caught by Ted not Sandy!!! I was expecting toilet paper and all...If I had been there to help she probably would have had a fit!!! LOL!

Denine- sorry to hear about your back.

Didn't get to the service for Joyces dad...Jeanne couldn't pick me up cause she had to go right to work after and the car is not functioning well enough...I will pass it all on though.

I spent the day with my son, DIL, and Olivia. In addition my mom. Birthday celebration. Olivia is an odd one. I feel bad saying that as her grandmother but. No laughing, very few smiles, crys when anyone but mom or dad holds her...although she did warm up a little to me. Had a great dinner and cake. Got a framed picture of Olivia for my birthday.

Have a good weekend all. Great to hear from you Diana...how far apart did you and Gregg live? Well, easier to deal with when your younger anyway.

Best wishes Stacey!!!!!

Lori - I wish I had been wish you guys! Sounds like a wonderful plan, well intentioned. Too bad you got busted!

I have been thinking about the wedding all day. I hope everything went well and Sandy didn't cry too much. I am sure Stacey was beautiful as well as her mom! Can't wait to hear about it and see some pictures! What will Sandy do woth her time now that there will be no more wedding plans to make?

Denine - hope the pain subsides soon. What kind of pie are you making tomorrow?

Tomorrow we are going to my little nephew's baptism and then back to our church for our annual picnic. Turner and Stanley have puppy training in the afternoon. Turner had hockey practice this morning. Not much more going on here.

I'll check in tomorrow.

Later!
