Oct.19, 02 Cruisers AGAIN

I'm here, Bonnie. No coffee, yet, for me. We're leaving for Richmond for a hockey game in a couple of hours. This is thelast game of the regulr season for our local minor league team. They are taking it down to the end to see if they make the play-offs. If they lose in regulation they won't make the play-offs. If they win or lose in overtime, they will make the play-offs. Should be an exciting game. We'll get home around 3AM or 4AM and Turner has a birthday party to go to tomorrow. This will be one busy weekend.

We'll be back in the 50s tomorrow after a full week of 70s. Turner wore his uniform shorts to school everyday this week instead of slacks. This next cold spell is supposed to be short and back to the 70s part of next week.

Sandy, how is the dieting going? Did you do your shopping? You can do it!! We just have to al stick together and keep each other motivated!

Where is Sally? Haven't heard from her in a while. Krista and Laurie too? Tried to see Darren in port this morning but all I see is gray!!

Everyone have a great day!
Later!

Barb: Did Patty book the 10-16-04 cruise? I can't remeber.

Sue: What a busy weekend for you!

It is completely depressing here. It is 40 and falling. We are supposed to get sleet, after the rain and then snow. It's supposed to be quite cold the next few days. I have no idea when we will see 70 again except when we go to Florida in May. I wish we were visiting Darren right now!

Have fun shopping Bonnie!

This day could be a diet killer, but I am determined!

No, Denine. Hang in there. Don't cheat. You are doing too good! Sue, I did go out and buy the groceries for the diet. Plan to start Denine's diet on Monday. With the Heidi and Bryan thing going on today, we are going to take her out for dinner after it is all over just to get her out of the house. Decided that Monday, would be easier to start that diet.

Bonnie, I love to go baby shopping. I really mean LOVE to. I love babies. Everything about them. I want to go with you!

Sue, I was thinking about Sally, too. WHERE ARE YOU?

Give peace a chance was Jeanne. I was just responding to her. Let there be peace on earth is a good one, too. So, Bonnie, you get a little teary on that one, huh?

Denine, I believe that Patty did book the 10-16-04 cruise. Wish we could figure out how to hook up after you disembark and we embark.

Hope to hear from the many lurkers soon. You know who you are!!!!

Wow, this place is dead today. Checked in a couple of times and it was always me that was the last to post. Hopefully, everyone is having a good weekend.

Good Morning all

Boring day yesterday. Nothing to report in with. IT isn't daylight savings time is it? My computer seems to think it is. It changed the time. I can never get it straight as to when it is. I thought in April? And I don't like daylight savings.

Cold weather today predicted...talking snow but farther north in PA.

Sandy....I think we must all be bored...How did the meeting go with Hiedi and Brian?

Sue: Who won? You all must truly be hockey fanatics to travel like that to see a game. I have never been to one and have no desire to see one...too much violence.

OK....Krista, Laurie, Diana!!!!!! It's time!!!!!

Got home at 3:30AM!! Ou rteam played horribly against the team in the last place in the division. We lost so no playoffs!! What a sad ending! We are hockey fanatics. We are members of the Boosters Club for this team and have personal friendships with the players. We give thema all kinds of support during the season including helping them with basic necessities in their apartments. They'll pick up their last pay check tomorrow and probably all fly back to their real homes right away. Oh well. There's always next year. Turner's hockey season ends the first week in May. So we have a little hockey left.

Sandy - watch the eating out. That is always a diet buster. Trust me, I know. We ate at a really cool Irish pub yesterday in Richmond and I blew it. But, at least I walked for 45 minutes in the parking deck before the game to help make up for it. I'm not going to look back. I'm just going to do te right thing today!

Denine - don't let the weather get you down. You can be strong today!! The warm weather will be back. I promise. I say that even as it is only 41 here and I want the warm weather back too.

Bonnie - Make sure to get some little booties. I just love how little they are!! I love onsies too! They have all kinds of new stuff out there that they didn't have 10 years ago. I'm lke Sandy, I love everything about babies. A friend of ours had a baby boy on Tuesday. He is on a ventilater because his CO2 level kepe rising. He was just a littel early so they want his lungs to develop a little further. But they don't anticipate any long term problems. They lost a baby in the 9th month about a year and a half ago. I hope little Christian gets stronger and goes home soon!

Enough for me for now. I'll try to get back on later today. Turner has a birthday part to go to at 1:30 but when we get home, I'll get back online.

Later!

Good morning!

Sorry about your team, Susan. Maybe next year. Good girl about the 45 minute walk. We went to Heidi's favorite place to eat--a Chinese buffet. Don't worry, I didn't blow it. My nerves kept me from eating.

Ok, which ones of you are expecting the big storm this time out east? We are to have perfect weather this week. Starting with 56 today and getting back into the 70's by midweek.

Bonnie, nothing exciting for you yesterday either? Find that baby gift? Heidi found out much more about Bryan last night. I am not sure who referred him to a counselor at school but I guess he has been seeing one. The counselor told him that he has waaaay to much going on in his life and he needs to slow down (which is true). AND--get this, he needs to get rid of the controlling people in his life. Meaning Heidi and his parents. What kind of COUNSELOR is this person? A curriculum? With that kind of response he can't have any kind of psycology background. He wanted to see us yesterday so he came over and picked up Heidi. He walked in like a scared little mouse. I couldn't take it and got up and gave him a big hug and cried. He responded with it is so nice to see you again, he returned the hug, and teared up. But after they left our house, Heidi asked for a hug and he said he could only give one as a friend to her. But, at the place they went to talk he did ask her for a hug. They both cried through the two hour talk. It is as though someone has control of him. Five weeks left of school for him and hopefully he will get away from that driving force and move back to Denver. Sorry, guess I am still upset. I need to learn not to go on and on with this subject to you guys!

Denine's diet starts tomorrow. Ted is thinking about trying it. I don't think it is for him but we will see. I was thinking if I could lose like 4 lbs a month, I could lose 2 dress sizes by the wedding. That isn't perfect but would make me happy.

Gotta go get ready. No plans for today but have to find something to keep Heidi busy.

Well I bought the refirgerator. It will be delivered next Saturday. I had a choice of white, bisque or black with no extra charge for the color! I thought about the bisque since my stove/oven is almond but it would have been darker. I would like to paint my kitchen cabinets white so I thought about white...but then what to do about the stove/oven. I settled on black!! I still can't believe it...but the reason is that my oven door is black and that way it will still look ok with the white cabinets ( I will paint those when I paint my ceilings LOL!) and with the almond stove top. Plus it won't show the dirt!!I didn't get the one I originally wanted. The one I got was $100 less. With the need for a new car I just couldn't justify it.
I still need a dishwasher but that is low on my list of priorities.

Did breakfast with mom and aunt then shopped...shoes etc...just got home. I was truly running out of patience. I always spend half my time looking for my mom.

It is 32 here with flurries. It is supposed to be cold the next few days. Yesterday was completely depressing day. I can't tkae this part of the country anymore. We will be house hunting again when we go to Disney in May.

I did cheat yesterday. I had some pizza. But, I only had the bowl of cereal and OJ yesterday and then the pizza. So, it shouldn't be too bad. All I can think about today is food. I am tired of eating cold food when it is so cloudy it is dark and so cold. There is nothing to do in this state! We are losing our minds!

Shannon and Ollie woke us up again at 4AM fighting outside our door. I am ready to kick their furry little butts out of the house! Shannon sits out there waiting for someone to get up to feed her. Well, she is a sitting duck. Ollies sees her and can't resist attacking her. So starts Shannon yowling and he's banging her against the door. They got squirted a lot this morning!

Bonnie: At least you will have cold food again soon!

Sandy: I hope the diet works for you and that you can achieve your goal. I really want to lose this weight, it is just so hard to stay motivated when it is so depressing outside.
I hope Heidi and her boyfriend can stay friends. Maybe, things will trun around for them in the future. At least they had a nice talk. He showed a lot of maturity that most guys don't have!

Sue: I knew you guys were into hockey, but I didn't know you were that into hockey. At least you had fun even though your team lost.

Tomorrow is opening day for baseball!!!!!!!!! At least that is something to look forward to even though our team isn't going anywhere. April 7th is the home opener, if it doens't get snowed out. It has happened! Hopefully we will get to some games this summer.

Hi guys, we're back. My worries of more snow weight on the roof while we were gone were all for nothing. We had a great 4 days of skiing and snowboarding and had a nice safe leisurely drive home today. Our new neighbors came thru for us, too. The dog was healthy and happy on our return. Life is good, life is fine.
Happy to hear of Kaliegh's teeth.
Sandy, go on and on about Heidi and Bryan. I'm really interested, probably to the point of being nosey.
OK, off to way too much e-mail. Seeee ya.
Lori

Yes, we are HOCKEY FREEKS! That is about the only thing positive about winter!

Turner is back from the birthday party and I have dinner cooking. I went to the grocery store and didn't overdo. I bought lots of fruit and veggies and some baked lay's and baked Doritos. Since I am doing weight watchers everything is about points. I was told to buy KUDO's bars. They are only 2 points and actually have candy on them. I bought a package of the Snicker's flavor.

I am doibng a pot roast for dinnner and then I am making a big post of vegetable soup. The weather has turned into soup weather. We even had snow flurries this morning after a whole week in the mid to upper 70s. I really don't get this weather. It's supposed to be back up to 75 by Wednesday and it has been in the low 40s all day today. YUCK!!!

Later!

Ok all you lurkers!!! I know you were on the computer this weekend because I saw you!!! Some of you are old enough to remember Romper Room-"Do Bee Do Bee Do Bee Do...I see (saw)... Mom!, Laurie, Krista, but not a peep out of you all! Or should I say buzz to keep with the Romper Room theme.

Julie???????? What's up little sis? How's the kitchen going?

Just think all...in less than 4 weeks I will be in San Fransisco having a wonderful time!!! I'll tell you...life is good!

Second week as supervisor and the best part is that it is pay week!! We pay real time but I don't know if it will catch up yet.
I get to really start my orientation I hope...plus another lunch. This time on my new manager. To all the dieters out there...don't change positions...it doesn't work on the diet!

Good Morning, Bonnie (and everybody else). Uh-oh, I remember Romper Room. Guess I am giving away my age. Have a great lunch and a great week two as supervisor!

I still haven't caught up on my sleep from the trip to Richmond. I want to go back to bed!! And, it is COLD!! I'm starting my Monday out as a complainer. Sorry!

Pot roast was good last night and I ended up with a huge pot of soup. I just don't know how to make a small amount of soup. I keep adding veggies and before you know it, I could feed an army! It's a good thing that the soup is low points for weight watchers!!

I'm gonna go get in a nice hot shower to warm up and get ready for work. Everyone have a great day!

Later!

Good Morning!

How was everyone's weekend? All I accomplished was shampooing carpet and some cleaning.

Next week we are going Prom dress shopping. Both girls are going. Nathan came over Sunday and played cards with us. He seems really nice. He even got to help catch a mouse!! Our house is 5 years old and this is the first mouse we have had. Both girls and I were on the couch while Bob and Nathan chased this little mouse around the house. My cat was worthless!

Hope everyone has a great day. What happened to Garry?? I miss his funny postings!

Glad to hear the new job is going good Bonnie.

Patty did book for the Oct 16 cruise.

Sue: The pot roast and soup sound good!

Well, I woke up to snow on the ground this morning. How depressing. Most of it has melted, but there are still flurries

Bonnie: I loved Romper Room as a kid. I had those yellow things you walk around on. I don't remember what they were called.

Nothing going on here.

Lori: It sounds like you had a great time.

Joyce & I worked all weekend so that's why I haven't been posting or lurking! This morning was catching up on food shopping but now I am home & catching up on the newest gossip.

We had a really fun weekend with a surprise baby shower for our new Unit Secretary. She was so surprised because she had her baby six weeks ago right after she started working at the hospital and she had it a few weeks early so we didn't have time to arrange a shower for her.

SANDY: You can share your Heidi & Bryan stories with me anytime.

BONNIE: Congratulations on surviving your new job.

DARREN: Where are you? Come out, come out wherever you are!

"Let there be peace on earth & let it begin with me" is my favorite hymn & I hate that they only sing it at Christmas time. I think it is one that could be sung all year round. Bonnie does cry & it gives me chills. Have a great week! We are shivering in N.J. Toodles, JEANNE:wave: :earsgirl:

Hi Everyone! We lost our internet on Saturday and didn't get it back until this morning! So sorry for not checking in earlier or answering emails. Well, Garry put our new kitchen floor in Saturday. BOY was that a project! He started it around 11am and didn't finish until 12:30am Sat oops Sunday morning! It really looks great! He was so sore yesterday, but I have a great looking kitchen floor! He seems to be doing better today. I was so proud of him. We went from a horrible yellow looking thing to a nice marble tile. He didn't use ceramic tile, but the vinyl tile and it looks really nice. I will have to take pictures and post them.

Denine, sorry I didn't read your email about maybe getting together on Sun. We didn't have access to the internet and didn't get your email until this morning. I'll look into the weekend of the 25th. Maybe we could do a baseball game since it is now baseball season!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!

well, gonna go! Will check back in later.

Sandy, I'm glad that Heidi got to talk with him. Hopefully things will work out.

Julie: Your new floor sounds great. Don't worry about not getting the e-mail. Jerry and I ended up trading off for naps and then we went for a ride. Ooohhh, a baseball game, sounds interesting. Did I tell you that we went to a baseball game 3 days after my reduction surgery? I still had in JP drains (for you nurses) and was still on Percocet. We didn't stay the whole time and we left right before Jimmy hit a homerun (my luck!). The weather was perfect that April. It was cold the rest of the month.

Jeanne: I now love surprise baby showers!!!!

Bonnie: baby items I can't get enough of: bibs!!!!!! I keep buying more. I also like the Carter's onsies the best. I do not like outfits that come with t-shirts that do not snap in the crotch, they always come untucked. I also do not like dresses that do not have little panties with them. I don't like to see the diaper under a cute dress. I can't remember if your grandchild-to-be is a boy or girl, but these are my observations.

The sun came out, yeah!!!!!!!!

I haven't been lurking too much........but Bonnie, the Romper Room comments got me !! LOL!! I hadn't thought of that show in years!!

Things remain hectic here. The final results are in and my mom has a bleeding ulcer, and thankfully no gallstones or kidney stones. She still is not eating hardly at all, which isn't helping things any. Her new medicine is starting to work though. She is both physically and mentally exhausted and really needs to let go and chill out. My sister is actually doing very well so hopefully Mom will let us take her periodically during the week for stretches of time and she will be able to relax. Unfortunately, I think that she is afraid that if she has some down time alone she might actually have to begin the grieving process. (TEARS) Something she is trying to avoid..... But I got all of the thank yous out for the memorials, claims for all of the life insurance policies in, taxes mailed, and checkbook balanced, so there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Sandy -- I am interested in t-shirts for the reunion cruise and I will try to call you tonight about it, ok?

Bonnie -- Be patient with the new job.....you will do just fine!! Remember the chose you as the right person to take the reins!!
We just need the old boss to let go......

I will try to post more often. We started soccer last week, so now we are adding 2 practices plus games into the mix.....but we need the diversion!!

Have a good week everyone!!

So good to hear from you, Laurie. I think of you often. Glad that things are slowing down somewhat.

As a daycare provider, I agree with Denine. The onesies and the onesies shirts are the best. I can't stand to see a shirt ride up on a baby. I don't like it on me and the poor baby can't pull it down on his own like I can. And, there has to be matching diaper covers for a dress.

Glad Julie is back. We need her humor. Isn't it fun step by step getting the new kitchen? Now don't laugh, but my countertops were bright orange with dark cabinets. We now have grey slate countertops with white cabinets. Made a major difference in our little kitchen. We just put in like a marble backsplash and replaced the orange and brown linoleum with Pergo laminate hardwood floor. Wow, you can tell the era that we bought the house in. Remember the orange and avacado decor?

Well, Stacey is here. We are going to order college announcements now. Anybody want to loan me some money?????
