Sandy- just some thoughts on the fifth wheel vs. a motor home.
With a motor home you would either hitch a small car in tow, have someone follow it with a car or just not go anywhere once you set it up. The fith wheel you would have the vehicle if you want to leave the campsite. Just my take on the situation.

Lori- No strangling allowed! If you did you wouldn't be able to motorbike for many years!!!

Barb-WOW! Weekend postings...good job!!!

Can't stay on long - strong thunderstorms rolling in again!

The picnic was nice and then we went to the pool for a couple of hours.

Lori - Turner had that t-shirt when was about 4 and loved it so much. I wish I could find another one too!

Lightening too close.

Later!

Ok Ok Ok Bonnie! I'm here. We have finally gotten a break from all the rain and storms lately so I have been outside with the kids the last two days. Today EVERYONE went into the pool in the back yard. Makenzie is really a fish! She just goes and goes! The Big Guy jut keeps asking to "Let go Let go". Boy mom takes a back seat to Daddy! I hope that your feeling better and your phone has been ringing! Let me know how things are going!

Sandy, did you guys think about a Tahoe? They seem to be big enough to pull your 5th wheel, yet not toooo big. I believe that they have the correct "pullage ability" that you might be looking for. (can you tell, my dad works for chevy? Even though he does, we look at all makes and models. I must admit, I don't like fords or their salesman either. The ones I have talked to, are VERY pushy and talk down the other car makers).

Susan, we have been in your "storm shoes" last week. I know that it sure isn't fun. I can send you my ark if you need it! LOL

Garry had his one big night off tonight! FINALLY! But tomorrow he goes in at 10pm and works a double! He will be coming home after 2pm Tues. Anytime the little ones get a chance to see and play with daddy, they go nuts! I really feel sorry for him. After this week and his two scheduled doubles, he will finally get to have at least 2 days off in a row. Hopefully things will get better then.

Barb, glad to see you posting from home. Sorry I missed Missy's birthday on the boards. I had put away my birthday list and forgot to get it back out. But I have gotten it out so hopefully I won't miss anyone elses birthday or anniversary.

Lori, I think you handle your step mom very well. I think after working the hours you did, I wouldn't have been so nice. Keep the great spirit up!

Well, gonna go! I hope you all have a GREAT morning! Will check back in later on tonight (Monday) to see how everyone's day went.

Have a Good One!

OK, Julie. Send the ark. I'll start gathering the animals! More unsettled weather expected today too.

Poor Garry! What a crappy schedule!

Everyone have a great Monday!

Later!

Good morning! I'm here.

Jerry didn't have to go into court on Friday so he worked from home in the morning and then we spent the rest of the day in Amish Country. I got a bunch of bread-making supplies. plus we were bookshelf shopping and I wanted to find a new decoration for my front door. Only lucked out on the bulk supplies. We did buy some chicken breasts and a couple of steaks.

Saturday I had to work in the morning. I ended up taking a nap. I have been so tired and my back has been hurting so much, I have been trying to rest as much as possible. Later in the day we went to our favorite furniture store to look at bookshelves. We found a nice one. You pick what you want and they build it. We are going up tonight to order it.

Sunday I had to work again. I could barely move my back hurt so bad. I ended up taking 50mg of vioxx. It finally helped. had togo to my nephews 6th birthday party yesterday. We didn't get to stay long because Kaleigh had pretty much missed her afternoon nap each of the 2 days before, so she was cranky

Jerry didn't have to be to court until 10:30 this morning, so he stayed home instead of going into work before court. I took another 50mg of vioxx this morning. I have to get my back to stop hurting. It is a lot better than it was.

we want to see Pirates this week at the drive-in.

Garry: We are trying to avoid jail time. That is why Jerry is going to jury duty. He is at the new Federal court house.

Jeanne: My dad got called for Grand Jury this year, but he had to get a medical excuse to get out of it. The handicapped parking wasn't anywhere near where he had to go.

Sounds like everyones parties went fine, garage sales too.

DCL: They have a couple of new itineraries for next year. They are only on select dates though. One is in October, but at the beginning. They are even having a special 10-day sailing on December 18th. I wish we could go!

Susan and Denine only...no offense but where is everyone else!!!!

Not too much in the mood for posting myself this morning but the fog has lifted...just had to do some talking to myself. A little ice vream has helped also!

Denine- you still have a drive in out there???Cool!!! I wish we did!

Not much new here...plan on laying out and cutting the Christening gown tonight....not looking forward to that one!!! Anyone who sews will tell you that is the worst part of sewing. I would gladly pay someone to do it!

Will check later!

Welcome back Julie!!!!!

Hi guys, another hot day. We hit 100 yesterday and I bet we are close to it today. Hope Lori is doing ok.

Decided on the truck. We love the 5th wheel and can't seem to part with it. Thanks for the advice Julie but a Tahoe can only pull a travel trailer. A fifth wheel hooks in the bed of a truck and a travel trailer is pulled by a receiver. We bought the Suburban to pull our 24 foot travel trailer but now own the 36 foot 5th wheel. But Bonnie, I NEED the motorhome to be able to go potty on the road. No matter what, you have to tow something so we figure that equals itself out.

Gosh, I want and demand a rain storm. I am miserably hot and want a break.

Gotta go pick up the car seats in the Suburban. It needs 400.00 worth of work to pass emissions. Oh well, it is only money. Have the kids tomorrow and it won't be done today so have to make a hot trip to get the car seats.

Have a wonderful cool evening everyone cuz we sure won't. Denine complains in the winter and I complain in the summer. I HATE heat.

Back from water aerobics - she worked us hard today! I will sleep good tonight!

Not as hot today and no thunderstorms (so far!). We need to switch weather from west to east. This has been a strange summer for us. I guess we had gotten so use to the drought and extreme heat that this year seems like a long spring.

Good luck with laying out and cutting the Christening gown tonight, Bonnie. I don't sew so the whole concept of you making the gown is hard for me to imagine! You know we will want to see pictures - with Olivia in it!

Denine - I hope your back feels better soon. I know that must be miserable.

Later!

Hi all. It's 10:15pm and still 79 degrees outside. Don't even want to know what it is upstairs in the house as we were at Cody's baseball tourney all evening and I didn't get home to open windows until after 9. At least we had some cloud cover at the game, that helped a ton!
I know, whah, whah, whah. LOL
Life is fine.
Enjoy an extra moment of beauty today!
Lori

Hidee Ho All! Its was beautiful outside today so the kids and I enjoyed the pool all day. Garry came out in the afternoon and we all had a nice time. The Big Guy even took a 3 hour nap! It is suppose to be nicer tomorrow, but never fear, the rain is to return Wed.

Lori, I take it that you don't have air conditioning. Either do we and boy some days you really to need it. We have two huge trees that shade our house pretty well so if we open all the windows it isn't too bad.

Bonnie, I sew and I know what you mean about cutting the patterns out. I love the sewing part! Feeling alittle blue? Email me and let me know what is going on!

Sandy, my brother is in the same situation about cars/trucks that you are going through. His problem is with pulling his boat. He has a mini van and a blazer and neither pull his boat very well. He is looking at an Aztec or a extended cab truck. I told him I'd go truck.

Well gonna go for now. Check back in later! Have a great day!

Just wanted to check in with everyone...another quiet night so far in the big city. Been here since 10pm...only 9-1/2 hours to go!

Just heard on the radio about a guy who was high on drugs and cut off a certain body part! I don't want to say what he did with it...I even have my limits as to what I'll post here!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Up early to go into work early to leave early. Ultrasound today. I called both offices to make sure the Rx was faxed over to them. No repeats of last week. What a racket.

Julie....thank heavens someone can empathize with me with the cutting. My back is aching! At least it is small so not too bad. ALthough I didn't lay out the organza overlay yet! I am not looking foreward to that one!! Very long.

Garry...EEEWWWW! Thank you for sparing us the details!

Lori...I'm glad to hear I am not the only one without air conditioning. Of course I do have central air but it hasn't worked in years! Knock on wood though not much of a heat wave this year. In past years it has been awful! I can feel for you. I am like Sandy...prefer the cold to the heat.

Have a good day all.

How do you guys survive without air conditioning?? Without it, the heat AND humidity here would be unbearable. We talk about the heat alot but do you guys have the high humidity like we do? For example, it is 6:15am and the weather channel says it is 68F and the humidity is 100%!! Imagine what it will feel like when the temp hits the mid-upper 80s later.

Could I have some cheese with this whine????

Everyone have a great day!
Later!

Good Morning!!

I'm back at work after 4 days off. Sure hated to take the vacation time but the break was needed!! We went to Cripple Creek yesterday(small town in the mountains that has gambling) Bob and I of course didn't win I think Mom came out a little ahead and my brother did pretty good. Missy's first time gambling she lost her money too but I think she had fun.

Mom's dog Gretchen died yesterday. They had her for over 15 years. It was pretty sad. My Dad was very attached to her. Sad end to the weekend.

Barb

Sorry to hear about Gretchen. Losing an animal is the same as losing a family member. It is rough.

Bonnie, I hate the cutting out part myself. Being left handed makes it very tricky. I haven't sewn an actual garment since the girls were little. Just the other day I was wondering if I couldn't even get a zipper in anymore.

I don't have air conditioning but I do have an evaporative cooler. It is wonderful on the days that the humidity is low. Susan, that is the majority of the summer. Denver has very low humidity. I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD so I know all about humidity. It makes a day miserable. I remember the nights would never cool down because of it. I feel for anyone that lives in high humidity. Plus another problem with humidity is my curly/wavy hair.

Sounds like the US will go on today without a hitch, Bonnie. Will be thinking of you.

Garry, what kind of people do you having living there??? Cutting off body parts?????

Julie, I think that your brother should go extended cab truck. I hate it when the "little women" is stuck in the back of a small truck. Isn't an Aztec one of those??? That is why we will go 4 door long bed. I believe in comfort for all travelling.

Time for Graci. Noah is at church for Bible School until noon. At least I have a good morning. Am planning to pick up my niece and nephew today too.

Bye bye

Good morning.

Sally: Sorry about your dog. It is awful to lose a pet.

Bonnie: I took sewing in middle school. I hated it. I love counted cross stitch though. I can needle point too, but I like cross stitch better. Good luck with your US.

I hate air conditioning. I grew up without it. Give me a fan any day. Supposed to storm this afternoon, but nice the next couple of days.

Ordered the bookshelves last night. We should get them in 8-10 weeks. I saw a couple of really nice bakers racks too.

Now we are looking for a new computer. Ours is ready for the antique store. I am tired of losing the mouse in the middle of something. We may order it in the next day or so. Dell is running a special through tomorrow. We are going to use Jerry's jury duty money.

Drive-in's: We have 3 or 4 still in the area.

Tomorrow is weigh-in. I am not looking forward to it. I have been bad this week.

My back is finally feeling better. Yeah, I don't feel 90 anymore!

Garry: Thanks for that little tidbit.

Sandy: So which truck did you decide on? Or was it truck vs. motorhome that you decided?

Barb: Sounds like you had fun.

So sorry to hear about Gretchen. Barb, please tell your Mom that we are all thinking of her.

Garry, was it with a ... uh, oh never mind.

I sewed a bag once. ;)

Denine, glad your back is feeling better!

Susan, I don't have AC but really don't have much room to complain either. I only really miss it for a couple of weeks a year. I could never handle humidity on a regular basis. My Mom lived in Clear Lake, TX for awhile and after visiting her once, I said never again. She had to come to me in California. We have a portable AC unit on the main floor for the day time, then I open windows and get the swamp cooler going upstairs before we go to bed and it's livable. Just not carefree. I've had multiple estimates for AC installation and they all refuse to do it because the duct work is too small to get the cool air to the top floor, even with a booster fan etc. The builders used the same size ducts for all five models of homes of which ours is the biggest.
I have an idea though! Install one AC in the basement and use the heating system, then install another on the roof and put new ducts thru the attic to connect to the upstairs rooms. What do you think?

See ya'll, Lori

Sorry to hear about Sally's dog. I know how horrible that can be. Tell her we are thinking about her.

I decided to take a half day off today and enjoy the pool!

Hope the US goes ok, Bonnie.

Weigh in tomorrow...haven't been to WW in 3 weeks but I feel good about tomorrow. Wish me luck. Same to all of you trying hard (especially Denine, my inspiration!).

Garry - hope you didn't have to "handle" that call!!!!LOL

I'll chat more later!

HELLO EVERYONE!!! :jester:

Sorry I haven't been around in a while. :( We had a great time in Door County, and then while we were on vacation I found out that we were without water at work (digging up the streets) for a few days and work was cancelled :bounce: :bounce: Hooray!! So, Kristen and I decided to go and visit John's aunt. We had a great time and the weather has been just beautiful. Now it is back to the grindstone though!! Trying to get caught up at work before I am on vacation from July 30 - Aug 11th!!! Kristen is in a play this weekend and so we are busy with that. Then it settles down for a while.

  No Air Conditioning???? Are you guys nuts????

Have a great day everyone!!

I believe the first drive-in movie was in Camden, New Jersey, at the airport circle. No drive-in theatres left in this area.

I lost my old dog Kira in 2002 & no one could even talk to me about her. Joyce asked me if she wanted her to remove her picture from my locker before I came back to work since she knew I would cry. I bet Gretchen had a great life & that's how you have to look at it. Kira is waiting for me at the RAINBOW BRIDGE!

Bonnie: Good luck with the christening dress.

My last house had no air conditioning & I suffered every summer but now I feel I couldn't live without air conditioning! Every opportunity I can I open the windows & turn off the air. Today was pleasant with the windows open.

Almost time for North Carolina. We are leaving on Sunday for the Outer Banks. Two sons, one son's girlfriend, one son's girlfriend's girlfriend, a cousin & Dodger dog. Should be interesting.......

Hope you all have a great day & week. Will check in tomorrow to say Hi but work Thursday & Friday. Saturday will be doing last minute trip shopping. ToodlesJEANNE
