DAYS!

:jumping1:

So excited I cant' wait!!!!!!!

We want to go to Rum Point Beach on Cayman, and we are wondering if there are any lounge chairs available, or do you have to rent them from some place?

Annika - Lots of rest and fluids! Feel better soon!

Feel better. Ditto on what Dan said. Drink plenty of fuids even if you dont feel thirsty. Feel free to ask about what you havent heard of on the menu.

Anika- feel better soon!!!!

 Sorry that you are feeling bad. The Dizzyprincess family caught a bug last week too, but everyone should be better by the time we leave next week. Get it overwith now so everyone can be healthy by the time we sail.

Hope you feel better soon :flower3:

Annika I hope you feel better soon. I probably won't get a chance to check in again because we fly to Orlando early sat morning. I am almost packed but still have some school work to finish off. I hope you all have a good week and safe travels to the Magic - look forward to seeing you onboard.
Wendy and Doreen

Annika - my prayers are with you for a speedy recovery!

We are off to the World tomorrow! Have a great week everyone, and see you on the Magic!!!!!!!!!!

:yay:

A big Thank You to all of you who have wished me a speedy recovery - looks like it is working! I have never gotten through a cold as fast as I am getting through this one, the fever and sore throat are completely gone and I am at the coughing stage, which means I will probably be completely fine again by Tuesday or so!

Safe travels to all of you who are already about to be on their way!

:cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay:
We made it!! We are there :goodvibes

We have . . .

more FRIDAY until we sail :boat:

Is everyone finished packing?

Have a great weekend!

DH has done most of the packing today (I supervised and was responsible for checking off lists :thumbsup2). Just need to get some last washing done so that we can pack the last missing things. This is a real load off my back, I was starting to get worried when I realized how most of you were already done with packing while we hadn't even STARTED yet! :scared1:

Annika and Disneyprincess: I feel your pain. I am still not 100% over my bug. I still have a week until we board that ship though. I hope everyone feels better soon!

I hope you feel better by now too Denine, and Disneyprincess as well!

Here is what I am thinking. We are already booked for 10:00 on Key West Day, so every time I look there is a brunch that shows up for 1-2 people at 10:00, but it is really just our reservation giving us the option to change or cancel. What some may be seeing is what we are seeing. So when others who don't have a reservation look they don't see it. Just my 2 cents, could be completely wrong. :confused3

This makes a lot of sense Chuck, I am sure you are right. As you probably know we finally managed to book Palo brunch a couple of weeks ago (or was it even less? not sure now), and ever since then when I log in I see brunch available and start wildly opening this thread to notify those of you who are still waiting for a free brunch slot ... And then I realize that it is only my own slot, and all the others are greyed out :sad2:.

DAYS!

:jumping1:

Yay, thank you for keeping the countdown going!! :cheer2:

I have learned from our past cruises that it is best to pack light and bring extra money. If you see something that you think ya wanna buy.....buy it then. It is a great possibility that it will not be there when you return. Always, always, always settle up with guest services before the last evening. There is always a big line on the last night and the following morning. We have found that the shoe organizer is a great item to have. With there bing 4 of us in an inside statesroom it clears alot of space for us. Bring the Downey wrinkle releaser...it works great. Don't forget the $1 bills for room service and your tip money. I have found that it is easier for us to pay our tips at guest services and get a voucher from them to put in our envelopes. You can do that anytime and hold on to them and have them ready for the last evening. Just to be honest....we pay our tips up front with the cruise and the vouchers are waiting for us in our room when we embark.

If this is your first cruise please remember this.....there is NO WAY you will be be to do everthing you want. DO NOT wear yourself out trying to do so. Everyone ends up tired, grouchy and aggravated. Remember this is a vacation so you need to relax and enjoy what you do and not be concerned with what you are not gonna be able to. All the more reason to book another one while you are on board. That line gets long and busy too if you wait until the last day.

I hope I have shared a few helpful hints and ideas with you, my fellow cruisers. My family and I are looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. Until then.....God Bless You.

Thank you for all these helpful hints! :flower3:
I have one question though, you say not to forget the $1 bills for room service. I was under the impression that they gave you some slip of paper to sign, so that you could write in a tip amount to be added to your stateroom account? Just asking since it is really going to be quite difficult for us to get a lot of $1 bills, we got only larger bills when we exchanged money at the bank.

Your welcome.

Dont feel bad about packing. Most of my clothes are sitting on the bags they are going in. Not in them, on them.

The easiest way for you to get 1 dollar bills, would be when you get to the hotel, go to guest services, or the cashier, and exchange what ever you want for singles.

If you order room service you typically tip them with cash while they are there. You probably won't see the same person twice, even if you get room service every day. Most people I've heard tip $1 or $2 per order. And, as far as packing goes, I think I'm the last in the group. I haven't packed a thing & still don't know exactly what I'm taking to wear!! :scared:

We are getting towards the end. The big Suitcase is done so we are about to weigh it. We have one more of our check baggage and then our carry on's.

It was a beautiful day here in North Ridgeville, Ohio!!!! We have been working furiously outside trying to get fall yardwork done. We planted 100 daffodil bulbs today.

Went to BJ's and we are now fortified with snacks for the drive.

We were finally able to get our Mickey family decals on the back window of the car today. I only bought them in May!

I have pulled some of DD's clothes out to pack. We will do our stuff tomorrow.

I am finally feeling better!!!! It isn't 100% gone, but very close to it.

Dan/Nan, This map is for the FE Exchange. Did we miss you somehow? Are you participating in the exchange?

Ok, y'all ... I'm telling you now, I have more than half of the big suit case filled with FE Exchange goodies.

We have packed:
  • Pirate costumes
  • Magnetic Door decorations
  • Christmas lights
  • Custom Thornton family vacation T-shirts
  • Glow sticks
  • Candy
  • Pirate coins

and of course, the mother of all Fish Extenders!

I have my digital camera, DW's digital camera, analog 3D camera, Disney film cameras for the kids, and a back-up digital camera. We will totally document this momentus vacation!

I'm so proud of my Fish Extender! I'm like a country Martha Stewart!

There. That takes care of the essentials. Now I'll see if there is any room left for clothes!

See you all on board!
