Oct. 16-23, 2010 - Bring Back the Magic

Have fun and fast healing!!!! Ice cream might help:rotfl:

Now that's a great idea - except since I can't exercise I guess I should watch how much of it I eat!!

Sorry to hear about the accident, and glad to hear that Nacy didnt need xrays.

Couple of things if I may.Keep a close on Nancy and the way she moves around.A lot of times, since a person has to favor 1 side of their body over the other, with this type of injury,it can lead to issues on the other leg and also the back, since your basically putting all of your weight on 1 side.Ive done it more than once,(Im was on a first name basis with my chiropractor when I lived in NY) and my fiance actually broke her leg in a similar way a few years ago.The other thing, is if the doctor hasnt told you already, is to alternate ice and heat on the affected joints. The ice will help keep any swelling down, and the heat will keep the muscle loose. This way when she is cleared to walk normally again, she wont be as stiff.

Did the police do anything about the woman with the suspended lic?

Thanks for the help. I already have experience with the problem of favoring one side from another injury a few years ago. This time however there's nothing to favor since I sprained my left ankle and twisted my right knee. So each leg is getting equal time!!! I'm just so mad at myself for messing up the rest of my summer. But I am catching up on some reading, knitting and DVR recordings so all is not lost!

Your welcome.
I didnt know it was one of each. From the little I understand about the accident, it doesnt sound like there was much you could have done anyway to avoid it.On the brite side, it sounds like youll be 100% for the cruise.

Just checking in to say hi.

Sounds like someone had an accident. Hope you heal soon!

Scott is moving to Austin Texas. He and 7 of his closest friends, They seem to think it is the up and coming city for young college grads to find jobs. I think he eatsmore in groceries than he pays in rent so we should come out ahead!!!:rotfl:

Are you sure they're not moving out there because Sandra Bullock is single again? :lmao:

Seriously, it's supposed to be a very cool city.

Just checking in to say hi to everyone.
Welcome to any of the new cruisers!
Dan so sorry to hear about your accident but glad you are ok. I hit a deer 2 weeks ago on I95 in Portsmouth and just got my car back yesterday. Not a fun experience. Hope Nancy is doing better. What a week for you guys!
I love the bracelet idea - love the Disney font and cruise line logo - good with anything else.
I've got some good ideas for fish extender gifts so I'm probably going to start working on them this week.
It's inching closer and closer!
Have a great week everyone!

We were in York from 7/10 to 7/24 - you must have hit the deer during that time. Our grandson hit a deer in June up near Augusta. And there was a car-moose fatality on the turnpike in York while we were there. They seem to be more prevalent this year.

I must confess I totally forgot there was a fellow cruiser in Portsmouth while we were at the beach. Otherwise we would have made an effort to meet up with you. I'll try to remember if we find ourselves in your area before Oct. The weather was so nice that we only went to Portsmouth one day during the whole 2 weeks.

We are flying out of Portland on Oct. 14th. How about you?

Hi everybody! Can't believe how quickly the cruise is getting closer now, we can book Palo and excursions the day after tomorrow already :scared1:.
Seemed forever when we booked the cruise in May 09!

Unfortunately, this week has not been the best for me - there is a bit of disruption at work going on, and I have been a bit ill and running a fever all week but couldn't call in sick since that wouldn't be a good move jobwise at this time. After work I just sort of fell into bed and slept feverishly, and thus I forgot to call a very good friend on her birthday which she was a bit mad at me for.

By far the worst thing, though, was yesterday when we found out that a dear neighbor has just been diagnosed as very, very gravely ill. :sad1::sad1::sad1:
At first I did not even realize how bad it was and I was all optimism and good wishes, especially since he said he had just had a successful operation. But then I read up on it on the internet, and it seems that a successful operation doesn't really mean much in the long run. I am very shocked and don't really know how to react. Even if you don't know him, please join us in keeping your fingers crossed for this very nice and lovely man.

When things like these happen, I am just so glad that my family is alright, even though it feels selfish to think like that. To all of you, I wish a happy weekend, and may you all and your loved ones stay healthy and happy and safe! :flower3:

As a matter of fact I hit it on July 16th. I keep telling myself that it could have been much worse - luckily I was able to swerve so only the front side hit it, and not head on. I was fine thankfully other than shaken up.
I think our weather is making up for last year -just so happy to actually have a summer this year!
No worries - the past few weeks we have been out straight anyway. Yeah just let me know if you are in the area before October otherwise we will definitely meet up then.
We are also flying out the 14th but from Manchester. Staying one night at the Poly and then the Radisson the night before the cruise. Can't wait!! :dance3:

:grouphug: Oh, I'm so sorry. Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm sure your friend will forgive you in time, did you tell her you were sick?

Sending prayers and pixie dust for your neighbour :wizard:

Good luck with your bookings!

Good Morning All
Well we are off to our oldest son today to celebrate Nancys farthers 90th birthday. Maine Lobsters and Clams and corn on the cob are on the menu for today.
Yesterday was actually was his birthday. Nancy and I and Nancys sister took him out to lunch.
He is doing quit well for himself see he just lost his wife who was also 90. He is still able to drive and I must say does quit well. Still very alert for his age and very smart and is living by himself in his home.
Everyody have a great day.

PS
Oh Yes Nancy is on the mend and doing much better
Dan

Hi Everyone,

I hope your all having a great summer. I'm :sad1: to say we don't be sailing with you all in October but :) to say we've rebooked our cruise for next October.

It's been great getting to know everyone and I hope you all have the best trip ever.

We're so very sad to have to bow out of this cruise. We've rebooked for January 30 on the Eastern itinerary. :/ I lost my job so need the extra few months to regroup.
