Oct. 16-23, 2010 - Bring Back the Magic

I'm having a hard time getting motivated today. I've been working nights and weekends on a big project at work which I finished on Friday. My house is a wreck and I have a bunch of backed up chores to do, but for some reason I'd rather work on my door magnets today :lmao:

So who's honey-do list are you working on? :rolleyes1

Ya think??? Is there something preventing them from doing homework at their house? :rotfl:

Mine and Tommy's list. Football season I see little of him. Our yard is a mess but the football field looks great. :rotfl: I think they did not have food because they ate here all day yesterday and then took food home with them. I am a big pan of brownies and they were gone before Tommy got home. :lmao:

I think that is a good choice!

I want to go to Scotland and Germany. One of these days I am going to get to Europe. I love scotish accents because they remind me of my grandmother and I really miss her.

You can come with me!!!! I will get there soon to see Patrick!!!

Go for it, the housework will always be there.

Good for them, they can eat well once a week!!!

Thank you Annika! So funny as although I have lived in Scotland all my life there are still places I haven't been to though I do agree it is beautiful - pity the weather isn't that great!
Wendy

I guess it's always that way, isn't it - you travel everywhere except for the country you live in. It's the same with me, I've travelled on four continents so far but I have never been to Neuschwanstein Castle or the Rhine or the Moselle and the last time I visited Munich I was seven years old and hardly remember a thing of that visit :sad2:

BUT: Only a few weeks until our visit to Meyer Werft in Papenburg ;-)

I'll try to speak with my best Scottish accent when we meet!
Wendy

Oh great. I won't understand a word. :rotfl2:

That is so right, I have been to all those places, but I was in my 20's before I visited the Statue of liberty and I grew up on NYC.

Wait until you hear our accents!!! Dan & Nancy from Maine, Leisha & Tommy Kentucky, I am from NY-CA-Germany-Maine-Guam-Florida!!! Roger- MA-Germany-CA-Okinawa-NY-Maine-Florida. They we have Frank & Kathy from NY!!!

Oh come on we don't sound that bad do we??:lmao::lmao:

I love being able to cross things of my honey do list! I actually took my van today to get it cleaned in an out. It is so much nicer now. I can see out the windows now. :lmao:

Well, Danis car now starts. I took the battery out after I got home from work this morn, took it over to Walmart and asked them to out it on the tester to make sure it was a bad battery. The tester,(the machine) acutally asked if there was a battery attached, and to check it, it was that bad. The guy I talked to said they had never seen a battery that bad before. Usually the machine will come up with a number 5 which is considered bad, and ours was 0.
1 new battery and a dropped bolt later, her car now runs fine.
Murphys law, anything dropped while working on a vehicle, will roll to the least accesible place. For me, I had to take the battery tray out, just to see where the bolt fell to.Fell next to the fan shroud.

What accent? (Im from Queens NY)

Sorry the post was supposed to be smaller.

Dani tells me I have, but when I get around someone from the NE, she has a hard time keeping up with the conversation, and understanding what I am saying.

Our NY relatives told my kids they had southern accents!!! The boys did not like it!!! I don;t think they sound southern, they just don't have the NY!! We are kind of bland.

If you didnt know any better, when I start talking to someone like my uncle who still leaves in NY, I sound more like Boston/Long Island than anything else. Down here, I guess you could say Im kinda diluted.

I was just thinking that Joanne - how many New Yorkers haven't been to the Statue of Liberty? I have never been to the top of the Empire State Building, but I have been to the top of the WTC :sad1: and 30 Rock, which I think has the best view since it's in the center of the city.

And have you lost it???? I say I have no accent, then every one laughs....:rotfl:

I actually have a Long Island accent :lmao: But I can understand Brooklyn & Queens. When I saw the movie My Cousin Vinny, I couldn't understand why the judge kept saying 'excuse me?' when Vinny said 'these two yutes' :rotfl:

Uh oh. You'll be in big trouble around Joanne & me :rolleyes1 Guess she can't deal with the speed at which we speak. I've had lots of non-New Yorkers tell me that we speak too fast. :lmao: But it's sort of a code...

I have slowed down in my walking and talking. I would get run over now if I was walking out of Grand Central at rush hour!!
