Good morning all

Another hot and humid day here in Maine. 10:45 and it's 88 degrees. Just got in from mowing front yard thats enough. Grampa will leave the rest to our grandson tomorrow.

Welcome - to Kathy, John and Portia!!! I'm Carrie and will be cruising with dh, Scott. This will be our 2nd DCL cruise. 3rd all time.

We have a fantastic jump zone & school in town. As someone who's afraid of heights & flying, and who is married to a pilot, I personally couldn't do this. But we're scheduled to do parasailing at CC for our 2nd time. I can't believe I did this last cruise & loved it!

Parasoiling is so peaceful. Not at all what I thought it would be. Glad you were able to get over your fear and try it!

Doss is 60% at risk kids so we do not see the parent. The ones that have offered we would not trust with the money. It is sad and still amazes me that some of these kids get themselves up and to school everyday. We have a few kids that are homeless or in group homes. It is so sad but those are the ones that we do it all for. We want to make sure we can give those kids money to help with college and have a useful purpose. We feed some of the kids before games so they will at least have 2 meals a day. I would love to bring them all home but Tommy will not let me.

So wonderful of you to do that! My dad came from teh projects of Detroit. Must have killed him that db and I didn't realize how spoiled we were until well after college.

Hi guys! Thanks for the welcome back! Since I last posted, we did a surprise trip to Disney in July. We surprised the kids with the trip. My borther and his family and my mom were going down to visit my grandmother in Venice Fl., and then off to Disney. SO, my hubby and I started talking and decided maybe we should go too! SO, we planned the trip within 2 weeks. Never did anything like that before, it was fun!!! We stayed for 10 days. It was a nice trip. We had a quick shower 1 day, but that was the only rain we had down there.

Anyone else receive there GTY assignments? I was on that thread and someone from the October 30th sailing received theirs. Starting to get anxious about it. I only check twice a day...

Hello everyone!!! I'm Portia and I'll be cruising with my DH Shawn, my DD Tade (10), and my DS Corey (5). This will be my first cruise ever and I'm super excited!!! This thread has been very helpful in my planning and I just wanted to say thanks for all the helpful tips and information. I look forward to seeing you soon...

Wow, looks like I am joining REALLY late but I just found this link through my Passporters book. How amazing is all this you have all put together!!

First Disney cruise for myself (Kathy), husband, 5yr old daughter and 2 1/2yr old son. Hope I'm not crashing the party too late!!

Can't wait and would love to find some playmates for the kids!!

There are lots of kids going on this cruise, my DS(5) included. All cruisers interested should try to meet up in advance to introduce our kiddos!!!

We booked a Cat 5 GTY. Last week, I was looking at our res on the DCL website and noticed that the GTY was changed to #7118. However, when I look at the DU website, it still says guarantee. Just to reiterate, no one told us we had been assigned a cabin, I just happened to look at the DCL website.

I think there are still a lot of people on this sailing that haven't gotten their assignments yet. We booked in Jan, which was relatively late compared to a lot of other people on the thread. So, maybe they are working backwards through the bookings. That way, the people who booked the earliest would get the upgrades when they run out of a category. Just a theory

I've been upgraded twice - both times it was 2 weeks before the cruise and it was a 1 category upgrade (Cat5 to Cat4 and Cat2 to Cat1).

Trying to get back to normal after the traveling. Walked the beach last night and saw the forestry people moving a sea turtle nest due to the oil. They dug up over 90 eggs. It was very interesting.

When you look up your reservation on Disney's website it will have a cabin number where it used to say GTY, then you look up the cabin number to see what category it is.

Did anyone book excursions in Key West and Castaway Cay? I'm having a hard time deciding on what to do there. In Grand Cayman we booked the Dolphin Encounter and in Cozumel the Jeep Tour. Any thoughts would be appreciated???
