Not sure what storm you were rerouted for, but they didn't tell us anything in advance except that they would stay away from the storm. It was similar to what Renee described in the post after yours. They will go where the storm isn't. Posting any information on the DCL website on Friday night would not exactly be helpful since most people will already be in transit and probably won't be checking the internet. But that doesn't mean they won't

But realistically, Disney has people working on this right now, making arrangements in other ports, just in case, to give us the best possible cruise



I'm with you It sounds like you had quite an adventure I'm one of those wacky people that likes some rough seas once in awhile - reminds you you're on a boat!

And now that you mention Tortola, it's one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean. I wouldn't hate going there

We werent. Ive seen the special statements pop up for 1 reason or another,on DCLs site, regarding a cruise.Ive seen them a few days in advance to the same day. Itll say something to the effect of "Guests traveling on the X sailing of the Disney blank please click here for important information regarding your cruise." Ive seen it for, the swine flu,trouble in Mexico(I think.I just remember seeing something about port security) and also reagrding the weather in the Bahamas, for the cruise just before ours last August. (There was a hurricane loitering in the area)

I agree, that putting it up the same day really isnt helpfull to anyone. Its one of the reasons, I take my laptop with me, with my wireless card, and can check while on the ship,before we leave the port or the hotel the night before we leave.

In the fine print it does say that they can change what ever they want to whenever they want, however they want.

1100 advisory is out for TS Paula. Pretty much the same as before except that its winds are about 5 miles an hour short of becoming a hurricane, and the hurricane warning has been expanded to cover more of the Yucatan Peninsular. The good news is, that it seems to be a fairly small storm, only about 100 miles across or so at this point.

As far as those who are changing, I'm going to print out a few copies of the map to bring with me, so at 3pm at the Promenade Lounge we can note changes if there are any (either mistakes or upgrades).

I've got a busy week ahead of me, we pulled the suitcases down out of the attic yesterday and I'm going to start stuffing this evening (had to air them out to make sure there are no spiders or other creepies joining us!)
