Y'all see where those of us in the Castaway Club who have been on 5 or less cruises, have been put back in steerage by DCL. Until after your 5th cruise, no more Castaway Club receptions, and no more early onboard booking of new itineraries before the general public.
Way to go DCL. You have two 4000 passenger ships coming, and you alienate the largest part of your loyal customer base????? What are you thinking????

wow!! not that this affects us now, but I think this is a wrong move for DCL! hope they change it back or alot of people will NOT be happy about this that's for sure!

I am also very upset about the change in the castaway club policy!! We were so looking forward to the little perks from being castaway club members! We also were planning on booking the repo cruise, but now we will probably not be able to because so many people will be able to book ahead of us!! What probably will happen is, everyone that has cruised more than five times will book, or change their dates to the repo cruise, it will be sold out, and we will not be able to book until people start cancelling, then it will be rediculously high priced that we won't be able to go!!! I am NOT happy with DCL right now at all!!!

Kritter, I pulled this from your trip report (I think) Can you explain the last piece. How is the deposit applied as a point credit?

9. Re-book on the cruise. And, a tip for those of you who are DVC members (I found this out too late). You can re-book on cash during the cruise (pay the deposit) and then anytime before you make your final payment, move it to points through DVC. Your deposit will be credited back to you and any on board credit will be applied as a point credit.

Well I must say I wasn't much surprized by this announcement. Told DWy just the other night that is where I thought they might go. With the Wonder being docked on the west coast in 2011. She said she was thinking the same way too. We more than likely will not take the Alaska cruise either. Being we's live down here in the south an all. Us'n southern folks when it dips below 50 degrees our joints freeze up you know. We get stiffer then a ply wood board!! It's a horrible sight to see!!! We much prefer the Caribbean climates.

Alaska is not cold in the summer. We were in Alaska in July and it was in the upper 80's and low 90's while we were there. That was in Fairbanks!! The mosquito's are what you should be concerned about!! They fly around with knives and forks!!
All joking aside, it is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Simply incredible.
