I will have to check out the trip reports! I drive my hubby crazy by reading about other people's vacations!
We actually named our daughter Savannah after the city in Gerogia -- that is where my husband went to college and that was when we started dating. It is just an added bonus about being a Buffett refrence! :goodvibes And no, I am not a Songs You Know By Heart type (those are actually my least favorite -- if you can call anything by Jimmy my LEAST anything!) I like the more "obscure" songs better -- I've got Something So Feminine About a Mandolin playing on my computer right now! But it has been a long time since I have been to a concert. We used to live in Ohio and every year we would go to the outside ampitheatre. After moving to Florida the only place he used to play that was close to us was the "O"rena which has changed names so often I can't keep up -- and listening to Jimmy inside a NBA arena lacks something ... sound quality, a space to dance and groove ... something... Maybe I am too picky!

Anyway, I am really excited about this trip! Still haven't made a deposit yet, and still haven't told hubby (I think I will wait a while and make some payments before telling him -- maybe I will tell him by next Christmas! :rotfl: ) You all are a really fun group and I look forward to the next year and 9 months chating with you here! :cheer2:
We've been to the "O"rena several times for JB. You're right about the indoor venues.:sad2: We used to travel all around the Southeast (and Northeast) just because the outdoor amphitheatres were such a better experience. :cool1: But now in Tampa we have our own amphitheatre. The experience is much like or even better than those other cities. :thumbsup2 The SYKBYH are also our least favorites. When you check out Nenner's trip reports you'll notice a lot of obscure song references as chapter titles. :goodvibes BTW- my favorite Buffett songs are Tin Cup Chalice and 12 Volt Man. How about you?

AND AGAIN, WELCOME!!!:beach:

Wow you guys are a chatty group! I've been trying for 3 days to read through all of the posts to get to the end -- I just gave up and skipped to the end! ;) You all crack me up and seam like a really fun group -- so can I join you?

My name is Jen and I am a Dis-aholic :rotfl: Oh wait, maybe that is for another group!

Anyway, I am looking at booking this cruise for my family -- I have a quote with DU and the deposit is due today, but I read someone else had a TA (this would have been somewhere back on page 10 or so! :upsidedow ) and I was wondering if you could message me about her please?

The party traveling would be me (a complete Disney nut and a PARROTHEAD to boot!), my not so Disney husband Shane (but once he is there he gets into the swing of things), our overlly Disneyfied daughter Savannah (she will be 8 almost 9 at the time of the trip), and my mom and dad. We all took our first Disney cruise on the Wonder this past December and I am kicking myself (repetedly!) that I didn't rebook this trip on board! My mom and I were ready to rebook another cruise, but we just looked at the 5-night Bahamas in 2010 and realized how expensive it was and said no way! If only we had looked in to a 7 night at the time! GRRRRRRR!

I'm also working on getting my in-laws on the trip as well, but my MiL gets REALLY bad Mal de Debarquement -- she is still having issues from a cruise of Hawaii she took back in 2003. She did mention at Christmas that she might just deal with it to go on another cruise. She really liked our pictures from our trip on the Wonder and I think being able to spend that experience with Savannah would be fun for her.

I'll post again after I place my deposit -- I look forward to talking with all of you!

Welcome aboard I just send you a PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Duh!! You are in Florida too! We are in Clermont and my parents are in Ocala.

I have heard that Jimmy has concerts at the Tampa Amphitheatre, but his show dates inevitably are the same times as my theatre performances at school (I am a theatre teacher at our local high school).

Hmmm.... My favorite Buffett songs -- wait, let me check my playlist ... What is the page limit of each thread???? :upsidedow
Little Miss Magic (goes back to having a daughter named Savannah)
Something so Feminine About a Mandolin
Lone Palm (I have used that one in an English class before when doing poetry!)
Floridays
Nautical Wheelers
One Particular Harbour
And a whole bunch of others!

It is sooo cold here I wish I lived in Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering if you all get trip insurance and from whom you get it. I know my parents will want it -- you just never know!

Have not gotten it yet. We used a web based trip insurance company for the last cruise and it was way cheaper than DCL. I don't know if I'm allowed to post this website, but I believe I originally got it on the Disboards: Insuremytrip.com . It was very easy to do. However, since I did not have to make a claim, I can only hope that they'd hold up if I had to. :confused3

I don't know -- it is pretty cold here in Florida right now! At least for those of us who have lived here for a while -- I am sure to anyone living somewhere where the wind chill is five billion below zero our weather would feel quite balmy! :beach:

All great songs! :thumbsup2 We used Little Miss Magic lyrics on Savannah's birth announcments.:goodvibes Floridays (the original) is definitly in my top five. I'm with you on that whole bunch of others. :thumbsup2 I could probably narrow it down to about 3 or 4 favorites from each decade :scratchin but that will probably take me from now until our cruise to figure out. But I'll throw out a couple more now! :beach:
Hula Girl at Heart
Coast Of Marseilles
Island Fever
Back to the Island. I could go on and on. :goodvibes

I knew I had read about another insurance place on the boards and I think insuremytrip.com was it. Thank you -- I'll have to look into it. I will always get insurance from somewhere and then hope that I never have to use it!

Hmmm... I'm not sure I could organize by decade, but maybe by mood or genre....
Driving music, Drinking music, chilling on the beach music ... Oh wait -- isn't that how the box set is organized???? :lmao:

Life is Just a Tire Swing
This Hotel Room (that one always makes me giggle!) :upsidedow
And although not technically performed by Jimmy Buffett: Some White People Can Dance -- If I remember that is off of the Margaritaville Cafe Late Night Menu -- I haven't been able to find that on CD in YEARS. I think the last time I saw it I had checked it out from a library -- and that has been close to 15 years!

We got trip insurance from the "place" livingis2me posted. It was just over $100 for each reservation. (we have 2 cabins)

Life is just a tire swing-anything from A1A is cool with me. :thumbsup2
This Hotel Room- a Steve Goodman song. Funny. :) That couldn't be me in the gorilla disguise. :rotfl2:
As far as the Steve Goodman covers Jimmy does, my favorites are California Promises and Banana Republics. :goodvibes
Some White People Can Dance- Fingers Taylor used to come to Tampa to perform with an old friend of mine's band. They would perform that live. :cool1: My favorite from that Margaritaville Late night cd is Souvineers by Jimmy Buffett. I always forget about that song. I haven't heard it in years. Thanks for reminding me of that cd.:thumbsup2
