Just arriving home last night after spending 5 days at DLP from October 15th-19th...very few lows and SO many highs!!
Highs:
- Sequoia Lodge check in...we arrived at 11:30 and they were rushing to get people checked in as they were having a scheduled power outage at noon...so our room was ready! Unpacked the car and headed straight to the room, then off to the parks!
- Gorgeous first day weather...All we needed were sweaters. A few days of sunny skies!
- New version of the Guest assistance card since our June visit which now includes Autism rather than being labeled as mental deficiency, I much prefer that! And now allows the card to be used on RC Racers.
- ALL the cast members were fantastic but for our last day at the opening of IASW, and one CM was just lazy and rude. But I'm sure Karma dealt with him.
- Handlers making an effort to get people to queue and wait their turns, much better from previous visits!
- Thanks to an amazing CM from Harringtons and informing us of a Vinylmation trading event, DS was able to complete his Toy Story set and trade some 30 Vinyls!!
- We met 51 various characters! Some were totally new to us....some we'd met before and some were different versions of themselves (Bonbon Goofy/Bellhop Goofy/etc)....amazing! So many villians! They were all on point!
- No fights with pushy/rude guests.
Most everyone was very well behaved!
- We tried Agrabah and Plaza Gardens for the first time...would return to both!
- Seated in our requested room of Frontierland at Walt's as Phantom Manor is DS's fav ride...right by the window where he could see/hear the ghosts on the balcony...he was tickled...and great food as usual!
- Jack and Sally...I don't even know what to say, they were amazing. Joked with DS for the longest time, referring to the monopod for our camera as a beating stick for naughty children...but to only use it on the back and legs...never the head, as you may wish to beat them again someday.
DS kept smiling and replaying it in his head all evening.
- Halloween decorations are excellent! We've been to DL stateside for Halloween, and I have to say that DLP's decorations/activities were right up there, very impressed!
Lows (and really, these are pretty low on the 'low' scale):
- The smoking....it was better than it's been in past visits...but still...it's pretty icky, especially to those of us with allergies.
- Sequoia free wifi...it's new, like a week before we arrived new...but maybe it's best to not offer it if you haven't worked out the bugs yet. It worked one afternoon, our first day...and never again. Not a trip ruining event by any means, but would have been nice to have to post pictures after a fun day.
- Crazy French weather....not Disney's fault! Lol...gorgeous one day, freezing the next...then somewhere in between with rain...at least we packed for all possibilities!
- IASW...why is this the only ride/CMs that we have a hard time with? Without fail, there is always some sort of chaos that takes place at this ride...either poorly trained CM, to them not knowing how to use DS's assistance card...I don't get it.
Honestly, I could go on and on about the highs, but then I'd just be rambling.
Had a fantastic trip...hope those that have yet t go, have an equally great time!
How terrible is it that I began looking up prices for next month after dinner last night, being that we got home an hour before that? :
But if Sandy Claws does actually appear, I have to be prepared, right?
