Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

Well, if everyone wants to come to Denver, sure! :cool2:

I haven't ever been to one a house party, but it sounds like it would be fun! I love the H2O spa stuff they have on the ship, every time I open it, it's like I'm right back there!

We've got 4 families from Denver on our meet, us, your 2 and one from Lone Tree, so it might be kinda cool to get together before we hit the high seas, let the kids hang out, that sort of thing...

That's right! I didn't realize that there were four families nearby. We could have our own dis meet right here! :thumbsup2

Here is a link to some pics from my houseparty for anyone who wants to look. https://www.houseparty.com/event/di...ubtype:recent/page:1/mine:1/party_id:227323#_

Looks like AoA is out for us. Wanted to stay in Little Mermaid room, but they have just 2 double beds. That would be uncomfortable for hubby and I in one double. So now we're making reservations at the Port Canaveral Country Inn and Suites. We like those hotels, always know what to expect, and the free breakfast helps the budget. Will be there on Thursday, so we will have some time to see what there is to see in the area. Anyone else coming into town early? Maybe we could meet????

I'm in! :cool1:

Are you inviting the entire board? :lmao:

Have you ever been to a DCL Houseparty? I was lucky enough to be chosen to host one in 2009 just after our first Disney cruise. I will have to post a link to the site. We played bingo for Mouse ears and DCL toiletries and drank Konk Koolers. It was a blast. I haven't heard that they have done it since.

We are coming in the day before the cruise and staying a week after so we can enjoy the MNSSHP and Food & Wine Festival. We are DVC members so its great to use our points for the cruise and room.

Babyburrito we also were choose in 2009 for the DCL Houseparty,,,,it was sooo much fun. I haven't heard of it being done either.

I just checked the houseparty site and they haven't had one since then. I wish they would do it again! I loved trying to bring the cruise experience to the party. We took welcome aboard photos and I made Mickey head rice krispie treats. We also had a towel animal making station. I would do it again in a second! although, it would also be fun to go to someone else s party too.

I just realized, I can make Mickey Head treats! I bought a Mickey head cookie cutter the last time we were in DTD, it works to make Mickey pancakes (but don't pick it up off the griddle with your fingers! ) so should work great to cut Mickey head Rice Krispie treats!

I used a Mickey head egg poacher because that was all I could find on my trip that time. I could go for some Mickey rice krispie treats now! :stir:

Dunked in chocolate!!!! :lovestruc

I made cool mint Oreos cookie balls to take to work yesterday (cool mint oreos combined with cream cheese in a food processor and then coated in white chocolate) because I'm starting a new job, and that was my last team meeting, they were tasty, but homemade krispie treats sounds good right now too! :cloud9:

That sounds soooo goood right now!

I'm going to have to find me some chocolate to curb these cravings!

evening all-just catching up again. Do any of you order the stateroom gifts? Wanting to order a few things for my husband. Are they in the room when you embark or do they arrive later? Do you think they are worth it? I am thinking i will order the beer mug but other than that i am at a loss. Looking for inspiration really. Is it possible to order other cruise merchandise other than what shows on the dcl site in room gifts? I am thinking along the lines of a t-shirt perhaps.

When we did a 3 day (way too short!) and it was also my birthday, Scott ordered the birthday pack for me. It's in the stateroom when you open the door, which is neat. There's also a lady that does custom baskets, her info should be in the FAQ thread if there's nothing on the DCL site that appeals to you. I think those are also waiting for you when you get into the room.

It was alot of fun, it would be nice if they would have it again.

We have ordered the Beer mugs, birthday celebration and they were nice. Not sure if we will do anything this year, except for ordering the wine package.

Hi there, we've ordered a few things for our last two cruises and they were in the room waitig for us. So far we've only ordered a snack and a bottle of Asti to celebrate and also water. If DCL doesn't have anything to your liking you can order a gift basket from Shirley. Though I've never done this I've heard many wonderful reviews. Just Google...The Perfect Gift. Here's a few pic's of our past choices.:goodvibes
The Wonder...Petite fors and Asti...

Unfortunately we have had to delay our cruise until spring 2013 :rotfl2: Hope you all have an amazing time and I look forward to reading your cruise reports!!

I haven't been on in a few days and the thread was all the way back to page 4!!! We can't let that happen :)

Work has been crazy. I'm working on a major project that needs to get finished before my next trip to...WDW :)

My daughter is completing her second college program on June 1. I'll be flying out of Boston the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend, into Fort Lauderdale. Bill, my cruising partner and I will drive to Orlando for the weekend. We will load up my daughter's stuff and bring it back to FLL. The following weekend, Bill and I will again head to WDW. On Sunday night, he will head back to Fort Lauderdale and my daughter and I will drive home to Massachusetts. Really looking forward to all that bonding time in her Mazda Miata. :drive:

My daughter is hoping to become a Campus Rep for the Disney program or become seasonal. She goes to school in Boca Raton. The Campus rep position doesn't pay in cash but they have incentives AND she would be able to keep her discounts. Momma loves that. If she worked seasonal she would get paid but she would have to pay for a hotel because she isn't close enough to commute. But again, she would have those discounts.

So anyway, after we get home, I'll be back to cruise obsessing, uh, I mean planning.

Your June sounds about like ours!

I leave on June 1st to go to Wichita, KS for a couple of days, to see some friends from high school, while Scott and the kids are going to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri for a week, then, when they get back both kids have camp for a week, then we leave to go to Beaches at Turks and Caicos for a week! The kids will go back to NY with Scott's folks for another week, then we've got 3 whole weeks to relax before we all leave to go back to the lake for another week's vacation with my family the last week in July/first week in August. Finally, the kids go back to school!@ :faint:
