Oct 13, 2012 Fantasy who's going

Earlier in the forum - there was talk about a meet and greet - that would be a g00d place - Or find babyburrito or ColoradoDisneyFreaks - I am sure they will re-direct everyone. And, finally someone said something about putting a note on the door where you would have been (with permission of course) re-directing people to the right cabin.

Hopefully, you will get a new cabin in good time, especially since they are now advising the GTY cruisers of their cabin numbers. Don't give up yet. :scratchin

Thanks for the reply-we were gty but got our cabin number in march for some reason? We wont get our new cabin number in good time though as it is at port check in we are thinking of upgrading.

Another question regarding FE-when will the cut off date be? Dying to get started but want to know final numbers.

Thanks

Our last name is incorrectly spelled in the FE list. Please change group 2, number 18 to Lafleur.

Thanks.

I will be happy to change it. But, just so you know - I am not using the proper name - I use the disney name (lafleurs) that was chosen to be used on the forum. In your siggie it's right above "earning my ears". Take a look at the other names - you will see they are not proper names. Are you sure you want to still change it?

That hasn't been determined yet :confused3 Right now it is 20 and 21 on each list. My suggestion would be 30 days out. So that would mean on 13 Sep 2012 there will be no more additions. :)

Then the list can be fine tuned ;)

Does anyone have a different idea.

Our family who is participating in FE is staying in room 10546. We also just booked the Salsa and Salsa excursion on Costa Maya.
BabyBurrito, I also made a payment on paypal for the bracelets. Thanks again it's such a great idea!!

In your cousins cabin are there three adults or two adults and two kids? I think that we know everyone's age but your aunt and I assume she is not a kid. Right now it is posted as two kids. It could affect the FE gifts for her. :goodvibes

That sounds fine to me.

The Auto train has to be my favorite form of transportation to Florida!! I'm from Philly as well and used to take it back and forth when I was in grad school in Miami. We're also leaving the day before, but flying down. We're staying at the hotel inside the airport and I purchased the transfers from the airport to the pier. I don't know who's more excited, myself or my niece for this trip!!

I took the auto train many years ago when I was my daughter's age and absolutely loved it! Then we had a private room - we aren't getting that this time. We decided to do coach - My husband and I will have no problem sleeping sitting up - we do it all the time. lol..

We were originally going to drive down - but I want to be relaxed when we get there. Putting two Type A people in one car is rough for driving! Taking the train is an adventure - plus we can pack more then flying. I also have a very serious allergy and being confined on a plane with no where to go scares the crap out of me.

Yes, it is still possible to get cruise bands. I've got you down for 5. I will PM you on how to pay.

BabyBurrito - lol.. what a funny name! love it!!! I'd love to have 3 bracelets - I should have enough posts soon to be able to get the PM.

Thanks!!!

Hi, I am from outside Philly-Levittown-I thought about auto train many times but never did it. Is is comfy, and is it more expensive than flying?

I have heard some great things for people. ONe of my friends just took it in June and said it was great - a little noisy at night - bring earplugs - but otherwise a lot of fun!

Great to have another Philly fam going! We are out in West Chester.

Question about the whole dress up at night thing - I know on other ships you have formal night. Do the ships have formal night for adults and kids? I know there is something about the kids dressing up as princesses or pirates - is that every night - or just one or two nights a week?

Here is a pic from our formal night. As you can see even the little ones dress up :thumbsup2

I think you've got the right idea! :)

Question for veteran cruisers: They typically have a character breakfast on the 7 night cruises, at least that is what I have heard. Is it on a particular day?

They aren't doing character breakfasts on the Fantasy, it's too big and the characters wouldn't be able to get to all of the tables in the time allotted for the meal. I do wish that they would do one where you sign up for it since a lot of people don't go, but for now, no such luck.

Okay, my brother's family would like to do the FE along with another friend of ours on the sailings. I don't see them getting on these boards though, so my DIS name will have to suffice I guess?

Brother's family...
Cabin 5515 with 4 people. DH=Jay, DW=Jen, DD=Kenna (10), DD=Treva (8). They are all from Missouri as well and everybody's first cruise except Jen. I had originally said to put them on the same list as us, but I retract that statement...put them on whichever list they fall on. If they are on our same FE the kids won't have to compare gifts and feel like anything is unfair. If they are on a different FE my SIL might steal my FE gift idea and do the same thing. Either was works.

Friend's family...
Cabin 8059 with 2 people. DW=Carrie and DD=Lauren (13). From MO as well, not first cruise. Any FE list is fine.

Thanks for keeping this all organized!

I'm sure I've read this somewhere, but didn't make note of it...and was hoping some of you DCL cruise veterens could tell me what I need to know about dinners? 7 night cruise: how many formal nights? are all other nights semi-dressy? (no shorts etc). Do men have to wear button up shirts? When will pirate night be? I guess technically on pirate night you can wear shorts and put a bandana on your head and call it pirate wear? Can you tell me already which nights are formal/pirate/other already?
Thanks for all your help. My dad is going and he is putting his foot down on wearing a suit. Been retired for 10 years and has no intention of ever wearing a suit by choice again. =) And...along the same lines..if formal night falls on the night you are supposed to eat at Animator's Palate (or any restaurant I guess) and you don't want to dress formally, you just miss dining in that restaurant? (miss the experience?) And we won't know our dining rotation until we board...right? We have a total party of 18...how many tables will they have to split us up into? Sorry for so many questions...DCL dining seems a WHOLE lot different than any other cruise ship dining I've been on.

Hi - the info has been added to the 1st page - The list they are on is subject to change - as the cruisers get their cabin numbers :thumbsup2

Motraveler-

The Western B Intinery is ours.

Night 1- Rotation Menu
Night 2- Rotation Menu(Formal Night)
Night 3- Rotation Menu
Night 4- Prince/Princess Menu
Night 5- Pirate Menu (Pirate Night party after on Deck)
Night 6- Captains Gala Menu ( Semi formal)
Night 7- See you Real Soon Menu

The normal nights are fine with long trs, dress shirt or casual shirt. Suit not needed. Shorts not allowed but a minority still turn up.

The semi formal and formal night some dress up with lovely dresses and suits but not necessary as its your choice. Majority, trs and dress shirt and cocktail dresses for ladies.

As long as you pack long trs and Dress Shirts for men and a nice Dress for ladies and you will be fine.

If you are eating at Palo or Reme then Suit or dress jacket and Tie needed for the men in Reme.

Pirate night you will get bandanas left in your stateroom for all and you can dress up if you wish, there are many who do Dress up and go all Pirate. But again not necessary as its your Choice. Shorts in pirate Dress will be ok.

The Biggest Table I've seen is in the Royal Palace/Court - the centre table sits 10 or near as.
There are tables of 6/8 so maybe two tables close to each other. You could easily converse with each table.

Go on the Cruise site and click Dining, look at each Restaurant on the Ship and at the Bottom it tells you he Dress Code for each MDR. Main Rule is no shorts or beach wear.

Lovely picture trinibjill...I'm looking forward to formal night. On the Dream we all dressed up for semi-formal and I wished we could have done more. Dan is planning on renting a tux. The only problem is he wants to wear the one with the white dinner jacket. He got the idea from my parents wedding photo. What can a girl say?:goodvibes

The white tux should be awesome. I was watching roller skating nationals and usually the guys wear black or blue or something dark. One guy had a white jacket and dark trousers and looked totally awesome. :thumbsup2
