Oct 1, 2005 Missing

Just to clarify, I'm not upset with DCL or anyone for not letting us know yet ... I don't think it has even been a business day since this news came out! :teeth:

Allseastravel says they will call me when they have heard from Disney.

In the meantime, I will drive myself crazy trying to figure out what other week we might be able to go!

I'm sure things will work out in the end! :earboy2:

It has to be something other than SOLD OUT??? It is too far ahead. Guess my cruise is just missing the controversy! That is strange... Ecspecially two weeks in a row! I will have to keep an eye on ours.

We called again today(waited for an official business day). The CM assured us our reservation was fine. She also said the cruise is sold out and there is a waiting list. Then DH mentioned that All Seas has it listed as dry dock and she got a supervisor. They then assured us that they have heard nothing from Disney about a dry dock.

Im sure that doesnt help anyone much, but that was our latest information.

Well gang, it looks like its official....dry dock! :( I just heard from my DU agent who heard it from DCL. What a bummer.
Good luck to those of you booked who need to work something out now. :D

Interesting that it would go in that soon. We just learned on the 5/8 Magic cruise that a ship is required to dry dock twice in a 5 yr period. Guess I assumed that would be every 2 1/2 years, but dry dock October '05 would be only slightly more than two years since it's last dry dock.

We're booked on the 10/22 sailing, so just after dry dock. It is the 10/8 and 10/15 cruises affected, right?

FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT IS THE 10-1-05 AND 10-8-05....

WE ARE ON 10-15-05 AND MY BEST FRIEND JUST BOOKED TODAY AND THEY LET HER...SO WE SHOULD BE THE FIRST SAILING AFTER DRY DOCK??????;)

Yep, as far as I know its the Oct 1 & Oct 8 cruises affected.

thanks for the clarification.

guess i can say i'm the first 'western' after dry dock!

Ok, dry dock after only 2 years?Am guessing that Disney are expecting very "lively guests" on the repositioning cruise!!!Hope the crew have been informed by now - they LOVE dry dock: hard work for them all, but time to PARTY in Virginia!!!Nat:Pinkbounc

Well, I got my call form DCL about my cancelled date. Spoke with Inventory Control (instead of a regular reservationist). Ended up switching from October 8th to December 17th(05). Was told that I had to go form value season to value season nless I waned to pay more. Got similar rooms in another part of the ship. & I was hoping I could get spring break instead. Oh well, an almost holiday time should be good & I don't thinkit will interfere with school. Only have to wait 2 more months (than original)

This is the first time I've responded to a post, so here goes.
Were a group of 25 who were booked on the 0ct 8th 05 cruise. Today we had a call from our travel agent - she said Disney called her that the Oct 8th cruise has been cancelled - dueto the Magic going into drydock. We've been offered 2 other cruises one in Sept and Oct 22nd. We'll have to get everyone to gether to decide. Were all so excited 4 generations are going. We've all cruised before but never on disney.
:earsgirl:

I'm really sorry for all of the people who have been evicted from their sailing dates for DryDock, but on the other hand, now you can all come sail with us on the 15th and have a nice clean ship!

Seriously, I hope everyone gets things switched around for a very Magical vacation!

First, let me say "WELCOME to the DIS!" :) Glad to have you here!

Next, you'll want to go to the October 22nd Western! Heard it's going to be a blast! ;)

Ok, dry dock after only 2 years?

Learned on the Magic last week that they are required to do two dry docks every 5 yrs. I know they did one last fall ('03) and I thought I had read on the DIS somewhere that the time before that was longer than 2 1/2 yrs....

So makes sense if the timer is ticking on those 5 yrs and they have to squeeze it in before the deadline.

Anyone know the exact dates on the dry docks (before '03)?

mik&minnie -- Wow...that's not going to be too much fun trying to get everyone to agree on another date. I will cross my fingers for you that it works out!

Sorry to everyone that is getting rebooked. So, what will they be doing to the Magic during Dry Dock? Anything "new" in the plans?
