Oceaneer's Club question

Hi all!

I was going thru some of the sample kid's navigator for the Western Itinerary on www.dcltribute.com and saw that there are separate activities for children ages 3-4 and 5-7.

My DD who will be 5 yr and 8 mo by the time we sail, is so into Disney Princesses and other "girl" disney movies. I see in the sample navigators that my daughter would definitely enjoy the activities for children ages 3-4 as compared to the 5-7 age group activities which is mainly science stuff Can she still join the 3-4 group or disney has a strict policy with regards to this.

Help! I'm so disappointed on her behalf...she really is looking forward to singing and dancing with snow white, etc... (this is included in the 3-4 yrs group activities)

We've been on 2 cruises with children in both of those categories. Disney is strict about which group your child is in (it's on their wrist band they wear). I know that if your child is within one month of an age group, he/she can be in the other group. But they DO stay with one group the entire cruise. I will say that the 3-4 group is much more of a "preschool" atmosphere. In fact I have read on the boards that many of the activities are more 'babyish'. The 4 year old traveling with us enjoyed the activities but did page us often. On the other hand, the 5-7 group stay very busy and do lots of fun stuff. They travel over more of the ship and spend time in the lab as well. We were hardly ever paged by the 5 and 6 year olds we were traveling with. Don't be discouraged by what you read on paper. Disney knows how to "do it up right" for all ages!

DD(now 6) loves Disney Princess stuff. When she was 5 we faced the same dilema as you. She had done the 3-4 yr old activities the year before and looked forward to them. This past year she was put with the next age group(5-7)and....LOVED IT! She loved making flubber in the lab as well as the other 5-7 activities. There are other activities outside of the lab i.e. "meeting the princesses" and getting their autographs, as well as "Tea with Wendy". That satisfied her "princess" needs. Your princess will have a great time no matter what group she is with.

I agree with plutospup. My DD had just turned 6 the month prior to our cruise & she really loves the princesses too. She found plenty of opportunities to see them, chat, and get their autographs. She had a blast most of the time in the club & we rarely got a page to come and get her, plus she really enjoyed being with same-aged peers. JMHO but I'd be a little skeptical about moving a 5 year old down to the 3-4 age group just for 1 or 2 specific activities, even if they are the "princess" activities.
