Dh and I are getting away for a weekend :cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We want to take a trip to OC,MD. The place we usually stay at is week long only.

Anyone have a good spot they can recommend (or for that matter a crappy place I should stay away from???? lol :lmao:)?

I'm trying to keep this budget so nothing too expensive.

I'd like to be no further than 1 block-1/2 a block away from the beach. Also being close to the boardwalk isn't that big of a deal for us.

THANKS MY DIS FRIENDS :thumbsup2

The Coconut Malorie is nice, it's on the Bay side, and it's not *too* expensive. :) Worth a shot!

We stayed at Summer Beach on 35th street 2 weeks ago. It was a 2 br condo, oceanside. Walking distance to the beach and waterview from our balcony. $150 per night. They have another location somewhere too that has 1 br condos. Not sure if you can rent for the weekend, but it was pretty nice.

Also try the Princess Royale, they offer AAA discounts and online specials.

We stayed at Tidelands Caribbean back in April. It's at 5th and Boardwalk, rooms were renovated over the winter - tiled floor, kitchenette, new queen beds.

Last year we took a budget trip right after Labor Day. We tried Coastal Inn on Coastal Hwy at 26th St. It was ok. Spacious room with TV, fridge, microwave and 2 full beds. Needs to be updated but it was clean and cheap. My aunt stayed in their sister motel across the street, similar accomodations and same pricing, between Baltimore Ave and Coastal Hwy.

check out some of the property management places. Seems to me that there were more condos available than hotels. LOVE OC! be sure to eat at Harborside :) Drink an orange crush for me! ;)

We stayed at the Dunes Manor Hotel last year for a few days and thought it was rather nice.

I am not a big OC fan, but since I live in MD... we do go... LOVE the Hilton! It's on 33rd Street and Ocean front! :thumbsup2

I live about 2 miles via water from OC! We love the pool at the Holiday Inn on 17th street. Anything oceanside is easy and convenient. The boardwalk ends at 28th street. I would avoide staying Bayside if you want to go to the Ocean. Simply because walking across Coastal Highway is a nightmare at times. The Carousel on 118th street is direct ocean front, has a pool and ice rink.

Try the dunes hotel or motel. It's on the ocean front and is reasonably priced.

I second this - we stay at the Dunes Motel every year - its at the far end of the boardwalk at 28th street and the Boardwalk - great location. The hotel is right next door and you can use their facilities if you stay at the motel. We like the oceanfront efficiencies at the motel, but you can also get a poolside room. The hotel offers an afternoon tea for the motel and hotel guests - free tea and cookies!!

I also live in MD and visit Ocean City at least once a year.

I generally wing it when I visit, but I am planning a trip with several others this upcoming July so I am reasearching best options...
