But you would be hard pressed to have anyone other than a 3 yr old sleep on the so called day bed. And this is the Studio Plus, not just any BWV Studio.

We have 5 in our 1 bedroom my wife and I and our 3 kids and have never had an issue with the resorts. They even let us have 5 in a studio back in 2001. This was at BWV and also at VWL and yes they did know about it as we were all on the reservation and we were all at the check in desk together.

It's Disney's decision, not ours. If they're ok, you're ok... just make sure you have 5 listed on the ressie.

When we bought our guide new that there were 9 of us and she said we would be fine in a 2 bedroom. She joked that we could stay in a 2 bedroom as long as we could stand being "cramped" with all those kids! I checked with the Disney legal dept. before we bought and they would not give me a yes or no answer as to whether it was OK. They said something like "we do not do room checks, we supply bedding and towels for 8" They did not say that it was not allowed, they knew what I was asking and by not saying it was not allowed certainly implied that it was fine.

I am fine with my decision to stay in a 2 bedroom. I do not feel that I am sneaking, stealing, or trying to bend the rules. I would not have bought into DVC if we needed to stay in a grand villa everytime. I was upfront with Disney and I feel that they agreed that it was fine.

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: This made me laugh. Has anyone ever gotten a straight answer out of a lawyer? I think they are trained to equivocate!

Small Print Disclaimer: No offense intended to any of the lawyers who frequent these boards.

Okay, we have been talking quite frequently with a DVC guide about buying in. When we took the tour at Saratoga Springs, she took us into a Grand Villa (which I think states a sleeping limit of 12? or less). We commented on how much room there was in the Villa. She stated to us at this time that Disney made sleeping limit suggestions, but did not have true limits. She proceeded to tell us that we could sleep 25 in the grand villa if we wanted to and then helped us decide where we could fit queen size air matresses! All she said was we would have to let the reservation office know so that they could get our tickets and room keys correct.

After the our at Saratoga, we were not completely impressed with the resorts, and so we went to tour the other resorts. We went into a one bedroom at BWV. The guy from the front desk took us in. There was a question about room occupancy limits. He stated the same thing. That Mickey did not do bedchecks, and if you needed a lot more space, the dining room table could be moved out of the way! He stated that we would just need to let front desk know in case of an emergency, or for room keys and tickets.

I am not saying we would ever do this, or would enjoy being that cramped in a hotel room on vacation, but this was stated twice, and I think that if Disney wanted to enforce a limit, a lot of people would have valid arguements against disney!

I need a little feedback and info if anyone has it. We are at BW 12/3-12/12 in a 2 BR. My cousin, her husband, 15 yr old daughter, 12 yr old son in the studio room, my brother on the couch in the LR, husband and I in MB.

We are going through applying for adoption and could all of a sudden have 2 additional children...one possibly under 3 the other between 3 and 6. This puts us one over. any chance we could still all stay in the 2BR?

Thanks,

Chaz

Hi,

It's mine understanding that 8 people can stay in a 2BR. Hope this helps!!

If the potential DC could sleep in the pack 'n' play, then you're certainly fine.

I see that you're not new to the boards, but please be aware that occupancy becomes very heated, very quickly here.

There are some who advise that your question is one for member services or CRO depending upon how you booked, rather than posters on the DIS.

Best wishes for the adoption process.

Disney will not give you a problem, if you are one small child over the limit.
This is a very heated debate on this board. It appears to be a much bigger concern for some on these boards, then it is for Disney.
You may want to consider bringing an aero bed for the little ones. The closet in the BWV MB is very big and can very easily fit an aero bed, and the kids will have their own little room.
Have a wonderful trip and major congrats on the adoption!!!! We are also an adoptive family. Our kids are now young adults and are truely our greatest joys, and always have been.
The feeling you get when seeing WDW, for the first time through your children's eyes, is truely priceless!

I just saw one of the readybeds with a built in sleeping bag discussed on the first page of this thread. It was from Target. They are adorable! My 3 year old and his friend were playing in it. It's small, but IMO the perfect size for a 2-4 (5?) year old.

Certainly a larger aerobed would be more useful in the long run, but one of these little themed beds (princesses, pooh, sponge bob, etc) would make the little ones feel special.

It's not a comment on occupancy limits, just that I loved the ready beds! :)

We are only 4, but my youngest DD is four years old and I worry about her rolling out of those high beds, plus by two DD's don't share a bed very well. We bought an areobed for kids, it has raised sides which stop her slipping off. She tends to think of it as a boat! This is a great bed and so handy at home as well. It came with its own electric pump and we have taken a couple of times on holiday.

We have 9 in our party...kids ages 15,9,9,8 and 5 with 4 adults...I am not sure how to let it slide with 5 kids has anyone done so...

and another ? do they accept AAA if you are not a dvc member
thanks!!:)

If you are looking to book a 2-BR unit at a DVC resort without being a member, this can be done through CRO or WDWTC. I would call them directly and ask them what they recommend.

The two bedrooms at OKW would defintely sleep nine. Someone would have to sleep on the floor, but the living dining area would be big enough for an aero bed. There are two beds in the second bedroom and a king bed in the master bedroom. Then the couch pulls out. So it sleep eight without anyone on the floor. That is the only two bedroom we have stayed in so not sure about the floor space in the other resorts.

They sleep four. May be a different story if the children are infants and need cribs.

According to the member handbook, one-Bedroom can accomodate up to 4 guests plus one child under 3 in a portable crib. The room size is 1016 square feet, there should be plenty of room to move around.

I currently have a 1 BR reserved at the Wilderness Lodge Villas for myself and another couple. Now my sister has decided to join us so we have a party of 5. I do not have the points or want to borrow from next year to reserve a 2 BR. Is adding a cot to the 1 BR an option or is that not allowed at DVC resorts?

Thanks for the help!!

No cots--those rooms are for 4 people ONLY!! This is a definite no-no to mention on this board, many people are rabid on the subject. But I will whisper in your ear that some people put an aerobed on the floor for the 5th person--don't let anyone know that I told you that, though.:earseek:
