Observations in the Adventurer's Club

I think it would be great to add a family-style club to WDW and leave PI an adults-only venue. The wristband system seems to work pretty well to prevent underage drinking on the island, so I think 18+ could be the limit instead of 21+, but I do agree that small children should not be allowed on the island at all.

The old admission system was perfect, and much easier on the CMs, since you only had two points of entry onto the island and you didn't need as many people watching or handing out wristbands. I think that alone will be the downfall of the new system, which was designed to let people shop the PI shops without paying the admission fee (hence more profits). But those shops are still just as deserted after 7pm as ever, so I would not be surprised if Disney reverts to the old system and simply closes the shops after 8pm or so.

Many have brought up the idea of a kids club at PI, similar to the Oceanears Club on the DCL ships, where parents could leave kids while they go have fun at PI. Sounds like a great idea on the surface, until you start thinking about the awkwardness of letting little kids go home with drunken, staggering parents, some of whom might be driving rental cars (there's no way to tell!) Imagine the lawsuits if some idiot parents picked up their kids and had a car crash on the way to the hotel; they would blame Disney for their own stupidity, of course, saying that Disney was negligent in allowing an obviously drunk parent take custody of a child. Disney is smart enough to not let that happen by never establishing a club like that.

Well I see you mention lawsuits in our, I'll sue you happy world. Doesn't seem like Disney really cares, considering the increased amount of reports that children are being seen in the Adventurers club....looks like Disney is trying to maximize this by bringing adults with their children to PI. So what is stopping parents from drinking and taking their car home and crashing it? Nothing really. Believe me I don't want children on the island (no im not a child hater), but PI should be for adults only like every other bar establishment!

I have to agree about the "no kids" rule. There are alot of people who just don't realize PI isn't really for kids.

We took my 10 year old niece to the AC on our last trip and I really have no idea WHAT we were thinking!!! It was a mistake, turned out she was pretty uncomfortable and my sister wound up leaving with her about 10 minutes after one of the shows started. All kids are different of course, but the groups of people you get in the AC are different too and sometimes you may get a more discreet crowd and other times a not so discreet one.

I know I'll never take kids to P.I. again and just to make things easier, I think it should be adults only. We weren't there that late, but there was alot of drinking going on while we were there.....which is fine....but why take the chance of putting the kid's in that enviroment? P.I. just isn't the place for kid's.
