I have been skimming the DIS Boards for a few months now in preparation for our trip. We leave tomorrow and are super pumped! :cool1:

I want to thank all those who have contributed great information and perspective regarding their Disney and planning experiences. You have been a great help to me and my family. You have embraced the true meaning of sharing and were more than willing to take the time to help others maximize the potential of their trips.

I have noticed that there are a few on here with a constant "sky is falling" attitude. I hope you find peace and realize you are going to DISNEY WORLD and will have a magical time while you're there. You will forget all your troubles and the fact that you could not get that one special ADR will disappear from your memory.

I have also noticed that some people will do anything, ANYTHING, to make their trip perfect. Don't get me wrong, passion is a good thing, as is the desire for your family to have the best vacation possible. However, the line must be drawn when that passion could affect or diminish someone else's experience. I'm also pretty sure that if Disney offered front-of-the-line privileges to any guest willing to kill a kitten at the front gate, the world's kitten population would steadily decline. I too have noticed that it's difficult to not get greedy when planning a WDW vacation, but sometimes you need to take a step back and enjoy it for what it is.

Just a few long-winded observations. Thanks again to those who contribute to these Boards. I wish you all the best!

My mom always says that the world would be a boring place if everyone were the same;) Have a great trip and let us know how it goes/went!

Is one kitten required for each person in my party, or does the kitten assassination get me privileges for my whole group? :goodvibes

Seriously, that was a well-written post. Thanks for the nice words about DISers!

I have to say, having been around here for 12 years (sheesh, I need to get a life, :lmao:) this is a REALLY bad time to be a new DISer. If I logged onto this site to get help for a first time trip, I'd probably cancel and swear to never set foot in a Disney park.

Definitely a lot of negatively going around, but I've learned to sift through it and search for the information I need.

Love it!!! Do I have to provide my own kittens or will Disney have one ready to go??LOL

Disney will make you purchase the kitten first, of course.

Thanks! And one kitten per guest, unless that guest is under the age of two.

Will the kitten system be tiered? As in will you only be able to assassinate one kitten for one headliner attraction and then one kitten for two B attractions?

lol I remember when I first got to DIS, it was probably around the time New Fantasyland was being started (don't really remember) but I just remember that was the big thing that was going to ruin Disney World and cancel trips and what not!!

I love the DIS but I'm glad you're taking a lot of it with a grain of salt right now!! It'll all calm down and they'll find something else (besides Starbucks and FP+) to complain about!!

Have a great trip (only 30 more days for me!!)

(ETA: Does anyone think we will get backlash for this whole kitten thing? I love kitties and would never do anything to harm them but you know how people get when they see something like that!! Still keeping my joke though!!)

Thank you for your well written post. I am veteran of the DISBoards and I will add that I think way too many people are obsessed with planning every, single minute and demanding perfection from Disney, the weather, other guests, etc.

One reason is perhaps the cost of the trips and the belief that anything costing THAT much should come with certain guarantees.

Yes, GO, RELAX. People watch. Relax. Swim in the pools. Allow yourself time w/o an agenda. And relax.

I agree. I spent a lot of time here about 5 years ago when planning my first trip. It was incredibly helpful. I have been trying to get help here lately for my trip next summer and I am finding that it is a much more negative, sarcastic, slightly angry crowd. I know there are some kind-hearted people here, and for that I am grateful, but I find myself weeing through the other stuff to find it.
