Observation Deck at CG

I wanted to have dinner on my arrival night (Christmas) at California Grille, in order to see the fireworks from the observation deck. But alas, the best ADR time I could get is 9 p.m. What time do the fireworks traditionally happen on Christmas, and is there any chance they would let us up early in order to view them?

I'm not sure what time Wishes would be. I know generally it's about 9, but I don't know if that holds true for holidays.

However, if you have an ADR, just go a bit early and check in. They'll bring you up to the bar area while you wait for a table. Once you're in the restaurant, you can just walk right out to the observation deck while you wait for your table.

They encourage people to go out to the deck, so, no worries.

We watched Wishes from CG's observation deck last week. My only recommendation would be to get out there early. I could still see behind people (I'm kinda short), but it would have been nice to be closer to the railing. But, I definitely enjoyed Wishes and the CG's food. It was a great first anniversary celebration for my DH and I!

Enjoy your ADR at 9PM. The staff at the CG is really good with there customers during Wishes. I'm sure they will let you up to watch Wishes then eat. Have fun.....

We wound up checking in to CG a good half hour before our AR & just went right up to the bar. I'm sure that it won't be a problem for you to check in early.

Thanks, guys! Since this is pretty much all we're going to do our first day there, and since it IS Christmas, I was hoping we'd get Wishes to kick off our Christmas vacation!
