I was lucky enough to go on my first ever Disney Cruise last year with Tracey's help :)

Of course while on board I did the OBB thing...

My question is how exactly does this work? I saw the new summer release and would like to start planning for 2019 to celebrate turning 45. Does the OBB get subtracted from the deposit?

Any information is welcome.

Thank you in advance DCL Forum

I’m assuming the OBB or placeholder names Tracey as your TA? You will need to provide her with your interests — date(s), itinerary, stateroom category, passengers, etc. as well as the OBB reservation number. She can call to get you a quote. The OBB will be attached to the reservation, including the 10% discount and OBC. You may need to pay additional deposit if necessary.

Enjoy your cruise!

:confused3 sorry- i'm super confused about this OBB vs placeholder.

OBB you buy on the ship - FOR a specific cruise?? So shouldn't Martha A. already have her cruise? why is it relevant about the release dates?

An OBB may be for a specific cruise date. An OBB placeholder is for unspecified date. I interpreted OP’s post as having an OBB placeholder.

If the OP has her OBB on a specified date and wishes to change it to a new date, it’s the same process.

If the OBB is on a specified date that she wishes to keep, then it can’t be used for another date as well. She can book a new date as a separate reservation.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you lanejudy...

Just to clear up my question...I only put down the deposit placeholder. I didn't have a specific cruise in mind but knew I'd be back.

May I ask one more question? I'f I make a reservation for an Alaskan cruise this coming week and then see a different cruise I'd like more in the 2019 fall release - am I able to cancel and book the other cruise and still use the OBB?

Again thanks for all the help - I'm new to all this but hope not to be soon.

As long as the cruise departs within the 2-year period, yes you can move the date as many times as you wish. Don’t “cancel” - the key phrase is change the date.

Enjoy your cruise!

Yes, so long as the new cruise still starts within the 24-month window for your OBB placeholder. Your placeholder deposit was made on a cruise some time in 2017, so you might need to careful about the date of a 2019 fall cruise to be certain to stay within the 24 months. Also, no black out date cruises, of course.
