i have a cruise I booked with an OBB. (Cruise A). Since I booked, the price has risen quite a bit. If I want to use my OBB discount on a different, more expensive cruise (cruise B), do I have to cancel and rebook cruise A at today's rates? Or can I just cancel the 10% discount and OBC on cruise A and switch the discount to cruise B?

I believe you can just switch the OBB to cruise B and keep the OBB perks (as long as it's within the 24 month window and isn't a blackout cruise). But then you'd have to re-book cruise A at today's rates.

Thanks Shmoo, that's what I was afraid of. My Med cruise wasn't available to book in September, and it is 3x the cost of my 5 night December Caribbean cruise, so I would save an $4-500 if I could get the discount off that cruise. BUT, the Carribbean cruise is now up $1k, so... I guess I'll just have to hope the Med cruise doesn't increase much between now and December and I can do another OBB.

You'd be wise to go ahead and book that other cruise now. And then re-shop it onboard your December cruise. If the price hasn't risen enough to negate the OBB savings, you can change it then. But, if the price has increased, you've locked in the current (lower) rate.

Oh yeah, sorry for the confusion, I booked it first day! But I didn't even think about my OBB when I booked that - I think because I was so overwhelmed and trying to decide which cruise to choose after getting the prices and waiting for so long on hold to book. But today I started thinking how much more I can save using it on that cruise vs. the one in December. But of course, I don't want to lose the locked in rates for my December cruise. Plus, honestly, I may end up cancelling and cruising the Med on another line as I would prefer a longer cruise and more ports.

I will just wait and see if I can get the OBB in December if the price hasn't gone up. It is one of the few Med cruises that hasn't increased in price, I suspect because it is the last one of the season (Sept. 7). By December I should know for sure if I am going on DCL for the Med or not also.
