Good luck with that.
Thanks

We might not even pay the penalty if they can't enforce it. We never get a refund so no worries on that point.
Good luck with that.
More scare tactics ... booga Booga BOOGA!!!For those who think the docs and care you receive on ObamaCare will be quality , time to wake up.

Oh yes, what am I thinking. Doctors will be happy to receive low reimbursement, it is after all for the common good.
This is going to be the best thing for our country.![]()
Doctors and hospitals are already accepting huge deductions from insurance companies. I just pulled out an EOB for my DD. She had RSV a few months ago. The lab tests from the hospital were $850.00. Because we have a BC/BS PPO, the eligible charge amount was only $100. Insurance paid $80, we paid $20 and the hospital deducted $750. Because we have insurance, they were happy to discount the bill almost 90%
My comment was directed at the statement that doctors will now have to accept low reimbursement. The point is that they have been accepting low reimbursement for years. With the ACA they will still be paid by insurance companies. The people that choose to pay the penalty will be charged the higher rate.Yes, because they know they will get paid by insurance companies.

Not necessarily, a friend of mine's daughter as admitted to an eating disorder clinic. They had insurance and the cost was $1000/day. Another person being checked in at the same time did not have insurance and their rate was $450/day.

Those Dr's weren't "happy" to discount your bill. It is in the contract that they sign, more importantly, one the CHOOSE to sign. Being happy to do it is completely wrong, this is what I did for 15 years. Trust me, they do it because it brings in more patients. They already accept low reimbursement, to cut it any more is criminal, and unless you see the bills that these Drs; have, you have no idea how little money they make for what they do. Most Dr's will tell you don't go into medicine, now it will be even worse.
Yeah and most teachers will tell you don't go into teaching, most lawyers will tell you law school loans are not worth it -- it's getting harder and harder to make a living, etc., etc., etc.
Exactly which careers these days are people saying, "hey, this is really great"?
And yet despite that we will always have teachers, doctors and lawyers.
True. But I am not willing to gamble with sub par Dr's and I htink that is what you are going to get. It takes a lot longer to become a good Dr than it does a teacher, or lawyer. And they don't exactly deal with life and death. Well I guess lawyers do, but if you have that problemthen you probably screwed up big time.![]()
I doubt they are going to lower the bar for med students.
Do you really think that the only way there are sub par Drs is because they lower the bar?![]()
Well there should have been no subpar doctors before Obamacare right?
Should there ever be" NO, are there yep. And?
So, how is Obamacare going to create more?
