I saw over the weekend that Oasis of the Seas is now sailing out of Port Canaveral. Is this going to affect the DCL schedule in any way at that port?

I saw it head out on the webcam this weekend there and no offense to anyone, but wow is that one ugly ship. It looks like a floating apartment building.

Royal Caribbean has their own terminal (they have been working on it for awhile) It actually sits directly across from DCL on the waterway. :)

I will see if I can find a picture of the work in progress.

We sailed on the first sailing of the Oasis out of PC. There were two DCL ships in port that same day and we watched DCL sail past with no issues. I don't think you will find it has any affect on DCL at all.
Not to start a debate however I'm one person who doesn't see the Oasis as ugly. She may not be as sleek as DCL but she is a nice ship. To each their own.

Definitely an "eye of the beholder" thing. I love the Oasis class but I will admit that it doesn't look great from the back due to the aqua theater. And it is essentially a floating city. But once you get inside you might never want to come out.

OASIS is sailing out of PC and using terminal 1 which is east of Fishlips (where the webcam is) ... and away from the DCL terminals

ALSO new to PC is NCL EPIC which is using terminal 10, adjacent to the DCL terminal and IMO the ugliest cruise ship afloat and DOES look like it has an apartment building placed on top

EPIC is Saturday ..... OASIS is Sunday .... O will be here year round (for now) .... E is seasonal for the next two years.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware Norwegian is now using Port Canaveral too. Definitely getting busier there. I wonder if this will make it tougher to get hotel rooms at PC now.

Agreed. Most mega cruise ships are eyesores. That's one thing I love about DCL- the old-fashioned ocean liner style of their ships.

Whereas I merely tolerate the "ancient" look of DCL. I much prefer the clean white lines of freedom/vision/radiance/voyager(?) class royal ships. Also like how princess looks.

The Oasis started sailing from PC just a couple of weeks ago. There's absolutely no impact on the DCL schedule. The terminals are completely different.

And a bit off-topic, we are sailing on the Oasis in just a couple of weeks. Agree with those that say it is visually not-appealing to those that prefer the more classic lines of the DCL ships.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so true.

I seem to recall seeing a Norwegian ship at the new terminal next to Grills last December. Perhaps that was just an overflow for the day. The second day, at Fishlips, there was an RCCL ship there.

There's another terminal in the planning too, according to the 2015 map.

RCCL kinda owns Terminal 1. In the agreement with the port, RCCL has priority over the terminal, so when they want it, they get it. (Where DCL owns their terminal outright and only if they violate the contract or choose to rent the terminal)When there not using the terminal, the lease or rent it to other lines. Carnival has used Terminal 1 on occasion, and NCL. NCL for while when they were using PC for a day stop was using Disneys Terminal 8. NCL left PC for a while and only recently started coming back to it. I want to say this year is the first year in about 2 or 3 years that NCL has had a ship in PC on a regular basis, other then a day stop.
