Set a tee time for my hubby to golf there while we are there in June. How is the course and the clubs they have for rent? Can he golf in his tennis shoes or should we bring his golf shoes?

If golfing at 730, how long will it take him to complete? If he takes cab to course from BWV, will the cab back take him to the park we are or is it walking distance to the monorail?

We are here now, and hubby golfed there four times this week at 7:30 - he gets a round free with his premium annual pass - resort guests get a free cab ride from the bell services stand there and back. The BWV are maybe a three minute walk to the back entrance of Epcot, so not sure which park you want him to meet you at. The boat goes from BWV to Hollywood Studios or Epcot as well, monorail from Epcot will take you to Magic Kingdom. Took my hubby about 2 to 2.5 hours to golf it. It's a walking trail, so you carry your clubs or rent a pull-cart, and yes you can rent clubs there. Hope it helps

With the exception of three holes it is not a long course. It is walking but mostly flat. When I played, I had the course to myself and easily walked it in 2.5 hours. Not sure about cab ride times.

Oak Trail is what is known as an "executive" 9-hole course. The holes are not long although there are a couple par 5's but one should not assume the course is easy because fairways can be narrow and greens smaller than 18-hole courses. It is actually one of the nicer executive courses one can play. It is walking only and thus he will need to rent not just clubs but also a pull cart unless he intends to carry the clubs. Clubs I saw them renting recently were Taylor Made RocketBalz (premium clubs). He will be allowed to use tennis shoes but whether he should is really his decision (I would not). You should note they also rent shoes.

Time to play the course ranges from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours depending on how fast you play, how fast those you are hooked up with play (they automatically hook singles up with others at same time) and how fast those in front of you play. With a 7:30 start time there will not be that many in front of him and he should be able to finish likely by 9:30 and no later than 10.

They provide taxi service to and from hotel. Not sure taxi will take him to MK (likely it will) but I would suggest that is not where he should have taxi take him anyway if MK is the park you are in. The taxi to MK would be to the Transportation & Ticket Center. He should instead just have the taxi take him to Grand Floridian and catch monorail there. It is possible to walk to GF from the course (total distance probably about 3/4 mile) but Disney frowns on guests walking outside of the resorts and across a well traveled road where there is no sidewalk, which he would need to do. If you are in Epcot or Studios, the taxi would likely take him there but he also could just go back to BWV and then walk over to the park.

Can you please find out how much the club and pull cart rental is. I plan on golfing a couple times while we are ther at Christmas. Thanks!

I played a few holes there as a walk-on single a few weeks ago. No charge with my PAP, pull cart included. I did have my clubs. Wore my regular park Shox shoes. Not put with other people. Myself and the people in front of me and behind me were very amateur golfers and it was getting a bit clogged up with waiting (altho not busy when I was first getting ready to start). So I left. I expect there will be better players on a better time frame with an early morning tee time. It was very casual late in the day.

Pull cart is free? Hubby will like that. He isnot much for walking!

I do Oak Trail everytime I'm down there. It's a nice 9 hole course that you can only walk. The clubs they rent are pretty good quality TaylorMade clubs. He will have to bring his own balls or buy them at the shop. I've always brought my shoes down with me, but I've seen people golf in sneakers, I think that's going to be a preference thing for him. Rounds can take anywhere from 2-3 hours depending upon playing partners/other people on the course.

Because of our APs, we played everyday during an 11 day stay at the end of April. The pull-cart was not free as stated in an earlier post ($6), and if you call the pro-shop directly at the Palm/Magnolia they will give you all of the other information you want. Below is the direct page to Oak Trail.

As far as the course itself, portions were under repair and it is the only course that is geared toward inexperienced golfers, families and children. Look at the webpage and note that it states; Age Interest - Preschoolers, Kids, Tweens, Teens, Adults. So don't expect a great pace of play. Even though we do play often and consider ourselves to be "decent" golfers, we did find a few of the holes challenging, and the course overall enjoyable. We actually didn't mind the pace of play. Watching young kids learning was enjoyable.

If you use any mobile golf apps, they will probably be right on as far as yardage, but incorrectly categorize the course as 18 holes. We use "Shotly Golf" on our phones and the yardage was spot-on!

Guess I got a little Disney Magic on the pull cart! Don't want to give out bad info, sorry. I didn't see any kind of price board posted inside either.

We also were charged for the pull carts.
