Oak Island Cove Formosa Gardens Area

Has anyone ever stayed at the "Liberty Belle" villa in Oak Island Cove? It looks great on the web site. I would love to hear from anyone who has rented this villa or one in the same area. Thanks.

We rented a home 2 years ago for XMAS in Oak Island Cove. The location is great! You're sort of in between Windsor Palms, Indian Creek, and Emerald Island. It's a great location for proximity to Disney parks.

The only thing that I know has changed in the last few years is that there's now a freeway being constructed that runs right behind Oak Island Cove, so some of the homes will practically have a freeway in their front yard. If you're concerned about this, it looks like Google Earth (software you can download for free) shows clearly where the new freeway is (it shows a wide area of dirt). Just enter the address of the home to see if it's close to the freeway.

Thanks for the updated information. One of the reasons we rented the Liberty Belle is it's close proximity to the parks, restaurants, stores, etc. Plus we liked the lakeside view from the pool area!

I believe that the new freeway is now open, so there is no construction. Yes some homes may have a nice view of it, but as yet, I don't believe the road is that busy.

Anything in that general area is great for access to the parks, shopping and restaurants.

Oak Island is just down the road from us - it is a great area, with really nice, good sized houses, and the location is great!

It is nice to know we made a good choice of areas to rent a villa home. This is our first time renting a house in the area, so we are new to this type of Disney vacation. Previous visits were to CBR and RPR at Universal. Loved both hotels, but this trip in August we have 7 people and wanted more room and a private pool and hot tub. Thanks for all of the quick, helpful responses. Every little bit of information is helpful.

I'm having deja vu. Didn't I read this exact post recently?

Anyway, there are lots and lots of homes in that area that meet that exact description.

Oak Island is nice, not gated, and there was actually graffiti on the roadside wall when we stayed in May next door at Emerald Island (an unusual sight in this area), but I am sure that's gone by now.

It is a very good location. I am sure you will have a great stay.
