O/T - know it all that knows nothing

I had a funny conversation with an extremely pompus young man selling me a portable dvd for our upcoming trip and I thought I'd share it with you for a wee laugh

We picked a very basic twin screen dvd for the car and he tried the usual to sell us insurance with it. We declined and my DH added that we were only really getting it for our drive to France so didn't really need extended warranty etc.

This lead to the next obvious question 'where are you going?' 'Disneyland Paris' we said. 'I've never been there' he said. 'I've been to Florida a few times and would like to see all the parks one day. The next one will be Disneyland in California'.

'Oh, we'd like to go there too. That's the original park' DH said.

This is when he got a bit pompus - he said (with a very stern look in his eyes) 'Actually, that's not the original park. Florida is. I did a tour when I was there so I know.'

I won't continue with the dialogue, but I politely said that he was mis-informed and gave him a wee history lesson (which is actually really sad as I've never been to Florida or California )

He went almost purple and argued with me for a good few minutes before finally saying he was going to go home and look it up on wikipedia

I was going to pop into the shop the next day to ask him how he got on

It is one of my moments, when someone asks why we always go to Paris - why don't we got to Florida to see the real and original Disney.

Oh dont get me started with why dont you go to the REAL !! Disney thing and they then go on to called it euro disney (my pet hate) but you can confuse them with the oh youve been to califirnia then to the REAL !! disney

LOL - so funny. You should have bet the salesmen to reduce the price of the DVD player if your were wrong then go togther and look up it up on a PC or phone in the shop and saved yourself a bit of cash!

Go to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea and then make up your mind as to which is the real Disney park!
