O/T Horse Owners need advice please

Fly sheets are made of mesh and quite breathable. They are also white, so they help keep your pony cool. My horse wears something like this, but with wraps on all legs. They also make a "bracelet" that goes on your horses leg/pastern and repels flies. I always spray the sheet down with fly spray too.

Oh I can just see the dogs reaction to this but short of bringing her in the house its a great idea....can you tell this is our first horse ? This mosquito thing is like "baptism by fire" sure glad yu're all here for us

Being in the southwest, our horses don't deal with mosquitoes that much but what about spraying a fly sheet (off the horse of course) with deep forest Off! spray? That may help or they have those bug repellent clip on's. Those are the only things besides actual fly spray that I can think of. I hope your horse and you guys will get relief from the mosquitoes soon. Good luck!

Aww...anytime you have any questions about your horse, feel free to ask away. For my fly sheeted horse, it isn't the dogs that give him strange looks...it's my neighbors who are idiots who think I have a blanket on my horse in the summer and a blindfold on him!

NO OFF! It isn't safe to use on horses. They can, will and do chew/lick on the blankets and the OFF is very toxic.

re_ OFF! that was my thought too...as far as the neighbors mine are crazy too...well they think I am,,why so many dogs? Horse big waste of $$ ya da ya da.....I tried the vinegar in the water this morning, I thought fo sure she would stick her nose up in the air..initially she did like "What the H*LL ?!" but she keeps going back to the pail like a crack addict ....so thanks for that advice ..too! Jennasis I will take you up on that offer for seeking advice...I hope I won't drive you all crazy....can you believe it's 9:52 am & I already got a mosquito bite myself while out there? I think they're traveling

MOsquitos get smarter every year I swear. Really want to tick off your neighbors? Get some Guinea Hens! Loud as all get out but they keep the tick and mosquito population to a dull roar.
