O/T help needed idiots guide ....

Can anyone recommend an idiots guide to video editing? I really want to get some nice films put together of our trips, I just bought a basic point and shoot type of video camera for our last trip and have a few bits of (shaky) film I'd like to edit into a short film.

I haven't a clue where to begin or what software I need?

any advice aappreciated x

Have you got a PC? If so you can use Windows Movie Maker or if you've got a Mac it's iMovie. The Movie Maker should be part of the package with the PC but I can't remember if the iMovie comes with the Mac or whether it's an extra.

Can't help with the editing though as I've about 6 years worth of footage to sort out myself! I just keep putting it off!
