It's hard to make a recommendation not knowing what your skill level is or what kind of web sites you intend to build. If you are moving towards programming Microsoft offers Visual Studio Express Editions for free. It's going to present a bit of a learning curve even coming from Frontpage. I use Visual Studio at work. When I have to make changes to my personal web sites at home I usually mess with the code directly by opening it in Notepad.

If I were starting over completely new to building web pages I would ask my hosting service if they offered a content management system for free with thier service. I like Drupal but another common CMS system is Joomla. These will require you make some graphics and work with the page code while you are setting up your site template. Once that is in place you can make changes to site inside the site's admin section without any special software at all.

Well, now that you're done "tutoring" me in Survivor... :rolleyes1 I know what your next "project" will be! :thumbsup2

I always just mess with the code directly in WordPad when making changes. I had no idea there were editing programs out there...

Are you ready? :scared:

I use Dreamweaver and notepad and have both IE and Firefox open so I can see if there are any surprises there. Sometimes I notice the colors are slightly different shades depending on the browsers.
