Awful awful AWFUL!!!

I didn't even recognize him without is long hair.

I just saw this too. What's up with the bluegrass version of Jump??? Pity. I sure hope he is not releasing this on CD. :rotfl2:

That remake of Jump was awful. I thought it was a joke at first. Maybe he's going through a mid-life crisis and wanted to try something different. It certainly accomplished that...it was very different.

I think HE is a mid-life crisis!!
I use to love Van Halen.....ahhh..the good old days....

Did anyone see him on the Sopranos a while back? He looked awful then. Missed him on Leno. I guess I'm glad. ;)

A tribute album of VH songs was recently released by country/roots/ bluegrass artists. The review I read was not very flattering. It will be a short-lived novelty piece for VH and the cover bands.

He looked and sounded just awful! I thought I saw somewhere that he had all this plastic surgery done not that long ago. :confused3 Dh and I just kept on shaking our heads in disbelief but could not turn the station as we seemed in shock almost too.

When did he turn into such a dork? Remember the 80's when he was cool.......

Even better than Van Halen was Roth's first solo band with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan. They were awesome. He totally set out to have a better first tour than Van Hagar, and IMO, he pulled it off.

"Gimme a bottle of anything and a glazed donut..to go!"

Ah, those were the days.

I think it's time for Diamond Dave to throw in the towel. His glory days are long gone.

I just watched it here

He's definitely not the DLR I remember. Traces of the voice, but that's about it.

Wasn't Jay funny when he introduced him? He did this smile as he said DLR's name like "wait til you see this..."

Did anyone else get a gaydar signal?

It is on CD. Its called "Strumming with the Devil". Its a blue grass version of Running with the Devil and covers many old Van Halen songs. I think the country stations will probably play some of it.

He's like a train wreck, you just cant look away. DLR took over Howard Sterns radio show on K-Rock after Howard left for Sirius. There were so many people that called him difficult and demanding when he went to radio. I was surprised he is the same guy from Van Halen! Radio and DLR didnt last long at all. Talk about a totally different persona and now last night on Leno has me shaking my head. I am most surprised at his looks and mannerisms.

I agree with the "train wreck" statement. My DS (19) and I were watching it and my mouth dropped open :happytv: I didn't know whether to continue laughing or feel sorry for him. The only thing I can compare it to that was as bad.... remember when Pat Boone recorded that heavy metal CD??? :lmao:

I'd like to have heard what Foxworthy and buddies had to say about it!

Hubby and I are big Van Halen fans even our 14 ds likes them. After Foxworthy, Larry, And Bill were through I was going to bed. DH yells come here you've got to see David Lee Roth! We stood there with our mouths open and then we laughed and we almost cried. Man what was he thinking?

Wow! :faint: I just saw DLR on The Late Late show with Craig Ferguson. I immediately thought, "I didn't know DLR is gay." :confused3 He was so cool with Van Halen. I never got any kind of gaydar signal from him until now.

George Michael said he can now see there were suble signs of himself being gay in some of his earlier videos with Wham, but he didn't look at all as "swishy" as DLR just did. I'm kind of wondering if it's just that DLR doesn't know how to act "ordinary" after all the drugs, booze, long hair & over-the top mannerisms of the 80's. :lmao:
