I have an interview at 11:00 with an internet travel agency!!(I used to work as a TA before I had kids!) Yes, the specialize in DISNEY!!! I don't have time to go into the details right now but I just needed some good wishes!!! I've been "approaching" this career for over a year now so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this might be the "one"(I do have another agency I am very interested in as well but they are not hiring at this time).

Keep those babies crossed for me!!:teeth:

Well, I THINK it went well but you can never tell. He did have me on the phone for about 45 minutes which I thought was a good thing(if he wasn't interested he could have cut it short-right?) He also told me that he needed to speak with the other owner(who is on vacation until tomorrow) and would be back in touch with me on Sat. The ONLY thing that I may said wrong was when he asked me how my computer skills were I told him that although I have worked with Words etc. in the past I needed to brush up on that end-seeing as it is not something I work with now being a stay at home mom. I also mentioned that my dh is very "up to date" in that area and would get me up to speed in no time. This didn't seem to phase him because that was about 10 minutes into the call. So I really can't say how it went but I think it went pretty good. What are your thoughts from what I have told you?

Sorry, slow server this afternoon, must be everyone is surfing in the company - summer afternoons do that to the corporate environment.

I don't know. Its not a lot to go on. But I think 45 minutes is a pretty standard interview time. I can usually feel when an interview is going a little off - I was one of two finalists for a huge position running a membership organization and they asked me what my management style was. I should have been able to hit it out of the park, but I stumbled and was caught off guard by the question thinking about it being some sort of code for a management style listed in some text book I didn't read. I panicked and flubbed an answer. I think this costs me that job. But I definately felt it when it happened. The entirety of all other conversations were excellent and you can feel it when it goes really well on most occasions. Its much tougher on the phone to do this as we are limited in using our female perception tools -watching people's eyes, movements, etc.

Computer skills will probably be pretty important to them - I am just guessing here, though. I know that when I looked into doing this many of the companies I talked to wanted you to be able to get into their systems or to be able to do SABRE or another network reservation system like SABRE. But I am not sure what the ones you are talking to are looking for. If there is need for a next time, hoping there is not, its usually not a good sign if someone says they are lacking in Word skills as that is the most basic of computer programs one would use. Just tell them you have experience (not a lie at all) with the programs you really have used in the past, and then have Anthony get you up to speed on them on the sly. No one needs to know you need brushing up. As an example, my resume says I know how to use COREL, well, put me in front of COREL today and boy am I going to fly into panic sweats. Give me a few days of brush up and I am golden.

I would just wait and go with your gut feeling that it went well, Saturday is not far off at all. It sounds good from that perspective, in that they are going to make a pretty rapid decision.

Oops, sorry I'm too late to add good wishes during the interview. But, I will add them to the waiting period. Hope it turns out wonderfully. Don't look into every little thing too much. You'll drive yourself nuts.
