But what exactly do you get with a concierge room?

Concierge gives you a greater level of service. The Concierge staff will help you plan your itinerary, make your dinner reservations, help with last minute changes - and can often get you a hard-to-book reservation, like CRT. There's a concierge lounge where a continental breakfast is offered, snacks and beverages throughout the day, as well as some light offerings for lunch and dinner (finger sandwiches, salads, fruit, appetizers...that type of thing). Usually they offer wine around dinner time, and cordials and desserts in the evening as well. Standard concierge rooms are usually similar to other standard rooms with a few extra amenities: robes, a small refrigerator, etc. So, overall, greater service and pampering than in a standard room. Perks and specifics vary by resort, for example, AKL concierge guests can sign up for a "Sunrise Safari" that is not offered to other guests at the resort. I haven't stayed concierge-level in a very long time, but I don't think it has changed much. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Antkim, Tesabat hit it on the head. I just thought I would post a few things that were stated on the official WDW website in regards to concierge service at a few of their deluxe resorts:

AKL Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service which includes curbside check-in, robes, make-up mirror, turndown service, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening beverages, wine and hors d'oeuvres.

CR Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, and evening cordials and dessert. The Tower Club offers limited concierge service, continental breakfast, midday snacks, and refrigerator (upon request).

YC Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service at the Regatta Club, which includes personalized front desk and guest services, robes, make-up mirror, turndown service, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, and evening cordials and dessert.

BWI Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service at the Innkeepers Club, which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, and evening cordials and dessert.

Poly Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service, which includes personalized front desk and guest services, robes, phone in bath area, data port on phone, coffeemaker (upon request), pantry service (upon request), turndown service, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening hors d'oeuvres, and evening cordials and dessert.

GF Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service at the Royal Palm Club and Sugar Loaf, which includes personalized front desk and guest services. Make-up mirror, turndown service, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and afternoon tea are provided by both Concierge levels. Sugar Loaf also provides a Twilight Refresher in the evening. Wine, cordials and dessert are served at the Royal Palm Club only.
