All my best.

Saying prayers. Remember your prayers WORK so she should be fine, but adding mine as well.

Janice, I spend A LOT of time at Hack Hosp now (my mom)...so if you are going and I'm going on the same day, we should meet for coffee!
PM me if you want!

Please keep us updated.

Definitely, JJ!

Prayers for your niece and your entire family. May she recover totally and have the chance to thank her brother for his generosity and faithfulness.

God bless,

Robinrs

May God bless your nephew, neice and your whole family during this trying time.

May the bond that they share from this be a reminder of how powerful love can be.

Whenever I pray I pray to St. Rita, who was my grandmother's favorite Saint. She is known as the "Saint of the Imopssible"
I've been praying to her a lot lately, but it reminds me that with God's love, there is nothing that is impossible.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Michele, I'd love to meet you! I'll PM you when my niece is allowed to have visitors. I have to admit that I haven't been able to keep up with what's going on with you, so I'm not sure what the current situation is with your and how likely it will be that she'll still be in the hospital when I'll be there.

My niece (Lori) is in isolation at the hospital now and will be for a few weeks (at least).

Her illness had her immune system badly comprised to begin with (BTW she has aplastic anemia). In order to have today's procedure, which is a life-saving one, every bit of bone marrow she had left had to be obliterated by chemo-therapy.

She's been at the hospital for a couple of weeks already getting the chemo, and I haven't been allowed to see her. The only people who have been allowed to visit her are her parents and brother. They have to wear scrubs, masks and gloves when they go in her room.

The transplanted marrow needs to be functioning before I can go, but I promise, Michele, I'll PM when I do, and we can meet for lunch or coffee. :)

My prayers and best are with them both, Janice, and families too. I recall the bone marrow transplant was one of the three courses of treatment offered as possiblities back in '98 for Marie. She did not do that one, but all the facts of it were spelled out. So I know of what she, and her brother (God bless him) are going through. Hoping all goes well, critical days ahead.

My prayers are with your niece, nephew and your entire family, Janice. Please keep us updated.

Prayers said...best wishes for your niece and family.....

May God Bless the whole family....

said it Janice.... Prayers said... Any update yet?

Thank you, everyone. :)

Not much to report in the way of updates, Tony. I tried to reach someone (my brother, sister-in-law or niece), but no one is answering the phone. It was a tense day for them, so they're probably all just knocked out.

I do know that the next few days are critical because her "new" bone marrow needs to "take" and grow. What is encouraging them all is that her brother's bone marrow is as perfect a match as could be hoped for.

Again, guys, thank you very much for your prayers and good wishes. :)

Janice, this is the first I've heard of your niece's bone marrow transplant. I certainly will keep her in my prayers. My cousin just had a stem cell transplant in January (she has leukemia) and I know how waiting for it to "take" can be. It's been a few months and they still aren't sure it's "taking" yet.

Please know you have a great support system here.
