We are thinking about trying Ohana during our Aug/Sept Trip and want to know whether or not they still have the shaved ice in the pails for the kids??
Thanks.
Thanks.

'Ohana. Think Hawaii and not Ireland.
I believe the pail is still available as you can purchase a variety of different desserts there. The bread pudding automatically comes with the meal.
We were there in January and were not offered any dessert but the bread pudding. Would you need to ask for the pail?
When they switched to the bread pudding, they got rid of the additional dessert choices. Only the bread pudding is available there now.
I guess the only way to know for sure is to call. I know I have seen children eating the shaved ice/pail since the menu change took place.
I don't like bread pudding, and **I** want that![]()
We still have the saved ice pails on request- just ask your server. As you walk into the restaurant, we point out the "hui hui" or the cold kitchen, and you can see a white machine labeled "Hawaii's Finest" just beyond the partition wall- that's the shave ice machine. This item is not on our menu and is not regularly mentioned, but we can and do serve it as part of the feast if you ask.
As far as other desserts go, we normally only offer the bread-pudding ala mode with banana's foster sauce, however, if you ask very politely and we have the ingredients available, we may be able to accommodate other requests (namely our old dessert, pineapple chunks with a caramel dipping sauce).
I would love to know what it is. Didn't catch it on Food Network. Is it like a slushee?
It's like a big snowcone and it's served in a pail (comes with a shovel) for the kiddies.
