O Canada at Epcot

i heard it opened yesterday but im stuck at home so no i havnt seen it!! =[

It is open now. We missed seeing it by a day, but we talked to CM's at Canada that did preview it. they said it was really funny (Martin Short is in it) Most of it has changed other then the RCMP ride from what I understand. I also heard from another CM that they kep the Canada song in as well. Can't wait to see it next year!

Yeahhh did they make a new movie?!? That's nice, I thought the other one was so old-fashioned, that it was embarrissing to look at... Can't wait to see the new one then!

Has anyone seen the new Canada movie? Did it reopen Sept. 1?

Our family saw it yesterday. We never saw the previous version, so we can't compare the two. But we enjoyed it very much. Martin Short was funny but didn't get in the way of the show. It was very informative and the footage was spectacular.

Its a great film. All though it does use many of the same shots used in the previous film, it does have some new flyby shots similar to Soarin' that are very cool!

I've merged these two threads. Same topic.

Thanks,

Knox

I am so glad to hear that people are liking it!!! As a Canadian I want it to be good and certainly agree that it was long overdue for an update.

Can't wait to see it at the end of the month. Just wish they had decided to install benches in there!

We saw it yesterday (Sunday 9/2). There's no indication outside the theatre that the movie has been changed but we took our chances and went (plus, we really needed the air conditioning). We have seen the priginal.

This one has much, much more humor in it. For example, when Martin Short makes his first appearance (after a grumpy Don Pardo - we think it was Don Pardo - was corrected on a Canadian misconception), he tells the announcer to go over to France where they have a not-seen narrator.

I didn't compare the scenes for which ones were in the first ones and which ones stayed for the second one because quite frankly, the way the film goes, it just doesn't matter.

The Canadian Royal Mounties are there (I just remember that scene because my mother couldn't stop talking about it) and the song is the same but now sung by the Canadian Idol winner of 2006.

The new one is definitely more energetic that the first one but not over the top.

Who has seen the new O Canada movie??? How is it?? Any reviews or info would be great!

I haven't seen it but there are a couple of threads about it on the Canadian board. I can't post links yet so just look on the first page. :)

Merged again .. see post# 14 for a pretty complete answer. :)

Same here. We saw it on the 31st, sneak preview before opening day on the 1st. We walked through Canada and I was expecting the area to be roped off, when it wasn't we were directed to have a seat outside the theater as the show would be starting in 5 minutes.

It's not Don Pardo. It's Corey Burton. :goodvibes

I don't dislike Martin Short, but I'm not a huge fan. So I went to see the O'Canada film this past weekend with slight trepidation. I was pleasantly surprised. Martin was funny without going for that wacky over-the-top humor he's known for. The new footage was great and blended in well with the old footage. And the updated 'Canada: You're a Lifetime Journey' song was a well done remake. All in all, this is still not an E-ticket attraction, but I think most visitor will enjoy the time they spend viewing the film.
