O.C. MD hotel?

We are thinking of going For just a few days in mid- June, right after DD's school ends. We want to be as close to the boards as possible, but on a budget.

Can anyone recommend a hotel, or some other place to stay, that is kid-friendly and easy on the budget? We can't go for a whole week, so renting someone's condo probably is not an option.

The Park Place Hotel between 2nd and 3rd Streets, and the boardwalk! It is our favorite place to stay in OCM.
