ny's eve, sat and sunday, crowds

Me and dh will be in orlando from dec 31 to jan 7. We will most likely avoid the parks on thurs(jan 1) fri (jan 2), I'm guessing they will be extremely crowded. And hopefully will be lightening up by Saturday the 3d and even more on Sun the 4th)Sunday jan 3d. Anyone know if this is a good guess or not? But we ARE considering new years eve at a park, because we've never done it before. Is it worth using a day on our hopper pass? What goes on at wdw, and where? Just how crowded WILL it be? Thanks for any advice.....i can barely wait!!!
