How does the ddp work if you arrive the last week of December and stay through part of January? If there are allocation changes to the plan effective 1/1 do you get grandfathered into the 2013 allocations?

I'm relatively sure that you lock in the dining plan structure based on your check-in date. So, if they were to remove a snack from DxDDP starting in Jan (note, do NOT take this the wrong way... this is not being mumbled about, this is not fact, this is not even at the rumor stage!), you'd still receive 2 snacks per night if your check in was before Jan 1.

I do know that it does work the same for pricing as well as the other "based on check-in" things with the dining plans.

If your check-in date is during 2013, you will have the 2013 dining plan for the entire stay. The only difference would be that if a restaurant should drop the dining plan as of January 1, you would not be able to use credits at that restaurant after January 1. That's not likely to happen though.
