NYEve - SSR or AKV?

We are currently booked at SSR for 12/30/07 - 1/04/08 (2 BR), but are considering trying for AKV concierge room (we own AKV; still a LONG shot, I know). We have never stayed in either location. I am interested in feedback re: NYE celebrations in the DVC resorts (I know AKV will be new, but wondering if anyone has stayed @ AKL for NYE). Any kids (if traveling with us) will be 4 YO or younger. I am more interested in what will be going on in the resorts for NYE rather than trying to fight the crowds in the parks that evening, especially if we have any of the grands with us.

There was a trip report from SSR that said that SSR held a NYE party for guests at the pool overlooking DTD, with a great view of the PI fireworks. PI and DTD really do NYE up BIG time as well.

You may want to ask on the resort board to see if AKL did any sort of NYE party last year.
