Hey..

Ok.. so its US air down, and Delta back for the DCL air that was purchased.

So.. a lot of time in the air on the way down, minimal time in the air on the way back.

I can not wait

At least it's the shorter flight going back. Imagine having to deal with the cruise ending AND a long flight back home.:sad1:

But I am having a nice time in my head thinking of a 14 day vaca with my son in 2010

Nan, that sounds SOOO nice! Imagine how relaxing and fun that will be, and the mother-son memories.:goodvibes Don't sweat the money...you have plenty of time to save those pennies!!

Tonight's College Night at Jesse's school, and I'm going to meet a Diser there! I found out that a lady named RobMom from the boards has a daughter in Jesse's school, and they know each other! We live within a few miles of each other, but we never got together, so finally we'll meet tonight at the school.

I think Artie is still digesting his Canadian Thanksgiving food!

::yes:: mom and her boy a good thing.

I forgot to tell you (Chad) congrats on the FBI :thumbsup2

I was just telling Wilson last night that I interviewed with the FBI in college but was too scared to pursue it. We had a talk about taking risks and not being afraid to push yourself. He seems to be walking the line of it's easy so why try lately. I told him I don't regret not looking at the FBI because I'm very happy with my life. However, I wish I had more courage to pursue my dreams back then. Ya never know, maybe I could have joined the FBI and met Paul and had Molly & Wil. Can't ever see that path you didn't take :sad2:

Absolutely CONGRATULATIONS to Chad!!!!

I said it in my head when I read it this morning, does that count?

Nan, I thought DCL was only ask for 50% the normal deposit???

Half the cruise cost sounds kinda high for a deposit :confused3

Do Accountants work for the FBI?

My enquiring mind is thinking you can still have your dream Nan.

Only in a moderately different capacity...

Comprende Me???

not so on the special cruises. Ya the deposit sucks but at least it would be mostly paid for so that's good.

Yes they do, but I didn't study accounting college. I was a poly sci major in college. You age out of applying to the FBI at 35, not an option anymore. Nor could I accept the fact that if they ask you to move, you have to move. That was what I was frightened of way back then. I laugh about it now, as I would go anywhere I could now, but my choice would impact my husband and kids and so it's not just about me anymore :rolleyes1

Marina actually.

To the Track

FROM HIGHWAY 1 SOUTH @ RESERVATION ROAD

Turn Left at off ramp stop sign, Stay on Reservation Road to Imjin Road (2.8 Miles), Turn Left on Imjin Road to red & white water tower (Visible from edge of town). Just past water tower, turn Right @ driveway (see sign)

Do you know where this is???

I haven't been before. Wilson is racing next Saturday if you guys are interested come look us up. He is # 15 :thumbsup2
Yea, it's the old Fort Ord Airport, we do our pursuit driving training out there. Chel has a baby shower that day, if I get a chance I'll ride down.

I see Nan said she wasn't in accounting when she was thinking FBI, but yes, accountants do work for them. Chad's not necessarily going to be a Special Agent; I think he's going for Intelligence with his poly sci Masters. He's not in yet though, but we're excited that he was granted an interview. Supposedly they grant one interview for every 50 applications they get, so please wish him luck. I'm praying that God will make it happen if it's for Chad's best. If not, I pray that God will lead him to another path. The presidency is out, though...he was thouroughly disgusted after working in that politician's office. Same with law after working in the law office last year. (sorry Paul!)

And going to college night with Jesse was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's all enthusiastic about doing well in school now, after speaking to a rep from the City University of New York system...looks like they have a great Film Production program, and we live in a city with tons of job opportunities.

Now if only I could lose weight faster, all would be perfect in my world!!!

My battery is dying, I'm in the car, so bye for now!!!!!!!

you forget my dear friend, Paul tried to talk him away from the law....he doesn't addvocate it as a career. Law school good schooling, but not practical, as you graduate and pass the bar and then need to learn how to practice.

Please keep us posted on how it goes. How soon would be be interviewed and granted a job?

Wow Marla, thank you for posting the marching band!!! I really enjoyed watching them!! Tig, did it bring back memories for you? I sent the youtube link to my kids' emails for them to see. Marla, you were there all day?????

Nan, I didn't remember that. I just asked Chad about it, and he said yes he does remember having talks with Paul about law maybe not being the best choice for a career. I think at the time, I was focusing too much at "having a lawyer in the family", and hoping he'd find his niche in it, but he didn't. I'm finding that the best thing you can do for your kids is to let them be who they are, and then everything will fall into place. (unless it's self-destructive, of course).

The interview is Friday, and if he gets in, it's off to Washington DC for training after he graduates. Then he can apply for the NYC office if he wants. (fingers crossed).

Chad said he doesn't know how long it'll be until he finds out the results. No one will say, they just said they'll contact him further if they want to see him for a second interview. I'll keep you updated, you and Tig are like his distant aunties!

Now I'm going to watch Kara's marching band again!

Yes - the same baby shower i'm at which is why i can't go meet Nan that day....THANK GOODNESS our Seascape wkend was open for all of us so Nan, Chel & I will all hang out before the cruise!:thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Marla - what a great band Kara is in....reminds me of my HS yrs when i went to a school that was large enough to have a band...Ryan's school does not have one (too small / too new) altho at last Friday nights FB game the school we played is HUGE - over 3600 students & their band section was pretty small :sad1: just so sad...

Kara's band is HUGE! and very good :teeth:

Yes Aisling, it brings back memories...I'm watching some DCI (Drum Corps International) youtube videos now after watching Kara's. Unfortunately I have an appt at unemployment to go to...bbl~

The link below may give you and idea of the difference between Drum Corps
(what I did - and Kara could totally do - you "age out" at 21) and Marching Band.

*there's a "watch in high quality" link just below the video box - click that for a better view*
~It made Kara's video nice and clear too~

thanks - forgot to mention - that is their pre game show for all home games

I was 'stuck' in my chair all day yesterday booking 2010 cruises

Grand Cayman - Grand Cayman Island Tour

Cozumel - Tulum Ruins

Castaway Cay - Parasailing and I have rented a float for us

yes - I am going to try to parasail - Kara can't wait to video tape that

Marla, I thought when you said you were stuck in your chair all day you meant you were watching Kara's video over and over again! I didn't make the 2010 connection!:hippie:

Marla, what are you doing in 2010? Wilson & I are going on the TA EB 4/10/10 :cool1:

...Happy Belated Birthday, Brenda!

From me too, Brenda! :flower3:

...Got some news...Chad has an interview with the FBI on Friday. He put in an application last week, and got the call on Friday that they were further interested in him...
Oooh great news, Aisling!!! Fingers crossed for Chad!!! I remember when Sophie was in her final year of University, she was contacted directly by MI6 (British Secret Service bit like the CIA?) and they attempted to recruit her into intelligence - apparently she'd been 'referred' by some mysterious unknown figure! ;) She turned them down in the end and we couldn't talk about them trying to recruit her for a couple of years... :cool2:  :cool2:

...Keep me in the loop on all your 2009 and 2010 and even 2011 plans my Magic Mateys. If and when I am able to start traveling again I plan on meeting as many of my internet friends as possible in as many places as I am able to travel - preferably on a trip to Disney somehow...
Will do, Tigg! :thumbsup2

...In 2007 all of my trips included a mini meet with someone I know. It can be scary meeting for the first time but feels like we've been neighbors forever. There are some misses I really want to make up such as Kaz and Sam back in December 2007. We had a meet set up at the Turf Club the day they were to land from London. I've read many of Kaz's trip reports and know the chances are high that the flight would run behind. They did. By many, many hours I'm told...
Me too!!!

...I was 'stuck' in my chair all day yesterday booking 2010 cruises...

What did you book??? We're doing the first Baltic AND the last Med cruises!!! :faint:  :thumbsup2 I'd like to thank the combination of DVC points and no transatlantic airfare for making this possible... :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
