NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

i was too tired & the internet was too slow last night when i got home from my CM event; so just booked everything this a.m.; Aisling i'm having the same problem you are; i can't book Ryan on the scuba dives as you need an adult too (which will be Rus); but we're not on the same reservation so it won't let Ryan book.....agghhhhh - altho i wonder if i can just book both Ryan & I & then 'onboard' cancel me after explaining to the excursion desk he'll be going with Rus...????

I would first call my TA, tell them the situation, and tell them to book Ryan. This is what I'm about to do for Cory, but Costco travel isn't open yet. This is very annoying.

Booking yourself and Ryan, and then you cancelling is a good idea. We tried that by having Chad book thye same thing that we need for Cory, but it wouldn't let him book because he was already booked for another excursion at the same time. We were going to drop him from the booking, but then I was thinking they may drop Cory too, since there.s an adult needed.

And Cory's only on their ressie to save a few dollars...he isnt even sleeping in their room.

Chad's trying to figure out how DCL is going to accommodate NYE as far as pirate night, formal...etc...to book a perfect Palo. He does have Cayman night booked for 9 PM.

So now I'm just waiting for Costco to open so they can call Disney and add Cory to my excursion with Jesse.

Louise is on her way back from Salem. Wait till she finds out that Chad booked them on a hiking excursion through the jungle of Cozumel!!!!!!!!!!

That is a good idea Aisling; i will email Cynthia this week, Rus can book at the 75 day window...so maybe he books & then Cynthia just gets Ryan booked at that time. So i booked a brunch & a dinner....but were you able to book a brunch for all of us on the 29th in the private dining room? Figured i can always cancel/change whatever i could get which wasn't much...been trying to go back in to Palo Reservtions & add a high tea, but it won't even let me in there...just keeps bringing up the Palo ressies i aleady have...uggghhh

For about $500 more, I can put Cory on the verandah ressie, but that's why we booked him with Chad in the inside stateroom in the first place, to save a few dollars. He'll be sleeping in my room, though.

You'd think that rooms purchased together would be able to link up for ressies, but there's no way to do it on the website.

Anyway, I have it all straigntened out, because I just cancelled the excursion I was trying to get Cory on, and booked the 3 of us on an ATV ruins excursion through Island Tours, or some name like that, I forget. I put all our details on the Excursion page of my website if you're interested.

Also, on the Rotations page is Chad's prediction of how DCL is going to make the nightly switches due to NYE.

Just got back from the gym, OMG that guy is trying to kill me.

So far I've only lost one dress size, and I'm getting discouraged, but I'm not giving up. I'm DEFINITELY seeing a difference in the toning up, though, which makes me so happy. My arms and legs are tighter than they've been in years. Now if only I can get rid of my tummy, but it feels like it's taking forever.

I'm thinking of bringing a 24 pack of Corona, but I don't know if our transport would be willing to make a grocery store stop on the way to the port. I don't drink beer, but if anyone here does and wants a Corona, just let Chad know and he'll toss you a nice cold one!

I wish DCL would let us know which nights they're switching around.

Checking in from the weekend. Glad to see everyone got their Palo ressies and hopefully for the excursions where you couldn't book due to the "no adult" that will be easy to update through TA.

Good job Aisling on the down a dress size already. Now you have me motivated even more. I went to the gym 4 times last week with twice in one day (did my laps Friday early morning and then the weightlifting in the evening). Everytime I feel a bit of pain or like I don't want to go I actually think of my brother and that I have nothing to complain about. It's actually a huge motivator.

If anyone has any updates, especially now that many of you got some of your excursions booked let me know and I will update the website.

and more drama, He won 1st this weekend in Reno at his IKF race (first time all season, mostly ending 4th or 5th so far) but was dqed, as his pit crew (aka Dad) didn't clean the carbon prior to the race. Sad story, but he beat the pants off the girl that has been smokin him all season

I tried not to click, thinking do I want that music carved into my brain again. But alas it is like a crack addiction, I just could not stop myself.

Next thing you know Grim is going to be selling the soundtrack for us addicts.....You get no more freebees now you have to pay.

Congrats Nan on Wilson's win (DQ'd or not)....

St Francis won their 3rd FB game in a row - another complete shut out over Pebble Beach's "Robert Louis Stevenson" school with a final score of 46-0 this next weekend is the 'bye' week so we're off to Disneyland Friday afternoon!!!

Had a great Creative Memories event on Saturday AND even completed 18 pages of the school's album on the Italy trip....

Colleen - i think that's a great idea of linking our reservations to Rus & Chel's...and then when Rus can book (Oct 8th or whatever date it is); he can book him AND Ryan together for those diving excursions....that should work i would think???

So far, Ryan is booked on the "Wild Side" teen event at Castaway Cay; i have a Cabana massage (that Chel will book too) AND both Ryan & I are booked for CC parasailing....

Aisling, I was going to suggest that you call DCL directly and ask them to fix your excursion problem. I would have thought that the rooms being linked, that the system would recognize you already had an adult going w/you!!

I do not think that DCL will have pirate night on the same night as NYE.. No way. On the halloween trip in 2006, Pirates' night was supposed to be on Halloween, and they just moved it.

Oh that's a bummer...well Palo is SOOOO good about accommodating ppl; anyone who wants to join us for any of our ressies are MORE than welcome; we just go to Palo on board & they'll make the changes....

I just got CONFIRMATION that pirate night will NOT be NYE night & she gave me the details of what they are offering that night...i.e. longer club hours (even nursery) celebrations for all the clubs & adult areas including free champagne toasts at midnite - longer character hours etc. etc. she couldn't tell me when pirate night was rescheduled, but we will get a letter about a month before the cruise with the new rotations....

I think DCL needs to come up with different degrees of being linked. Does that make sense?

For our extended family cruise I had to have my TA unlink our large group and reconfigure it as two smaller groups just to make trying to get Palo and excursion reservations workable. Then she had to call back and get us all relinked as one large group again. Kind of a pain.


The only thing I really wanted to book this time was Palo brunch. I thought I'd be tough out of luck though; DD and I had tickets to the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour on Saturday, so I knew I wouldn't be home right when our booking window opened. I was pleasantly surprised when I logged on 2+ hours later and there were still some brunch times available. Thanks for not snagging them all guys!

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and our 1st Palo brunch.


Yikes, shopping and packing plans... I sometimes wonder how I ever found my way to the Dis. I think compulsive planners outnumber those of us who tend to be a bit more impromptu by a wide margin here.
